Strength:

Excellent grip dry or wet.
Superb steering feel and response.
Almost no squealing.
Reasonbly low road noise.
Rock bottom price.
Low wear rate.

Weakness:

Can roar on wet roads at freeway speeds.
Not the most supple ride.

These are by far the highest performance tires of the three I've listed above. Both wet and dry grip are outstanding. Hydroplaning resistance is above average, though perhaps not as good as the P4000ST. Both Pirelli tires gave a more silent and smooth ride than this tire, but also howled like a banshee in even moderate cornering. The 711s do not protest at all in hard cornering, and truly inspire confidence. They breakaway very gradually and predictably. If it weren't for the less than stellar ride, and roaring when driving through heavy rains, I'd definitely be considering these tires again. The price is absolutely unbeatable, and at 16k on them now, looks like I have at least half of the treadwear left, which I consider quite good (about double the Dunlop SP4000, similar to the Pirellis). I think I will look for something with hopefully similar performance though, with a little smoother and quieter ride next time..

In terms of bang for the buck though, I don't see how you can rule these tires out. $57 for 205/55VR15??? I've seen plenty T or H rated tires that cost more than this!

Strength:

After tire is warmed up GREAT !!!! Traction. Already has surpassed my last set of tires (Dunlop SP8000) for mileage and I still have the summer to go.

Weakness:

Not supper traction in the wet. But driveable if not stupid.

This is a tire that is based around Kumo's racing tire. For U non racers pick another tire. This blows circles around the Dunlop SP8000 I used for 17000 miles before I was at the weare indicatores. These Kumo's tires must be warmed up before traction happens. If you want some (I"m going to the store and hope I impress you tires on)then find another tire and well, go to the store. BUT if U want a kick butt racing tire for the street with awsome traction (after warmup) you can't beat them. esp. at the price. This is based on a 1991 MR2 without rotating tires because of staggered fron and rear tires.

Strength:

Better performance in wet and dry, tighter cornering, crisper steering.

Weakness:

None

After enduring winter of 2000 in Chicago with my 1996 Honda Accord V6 EX with worn down Firestone tires, I decided it was time for a new set. I started poking around the internet, anywhere from Consumer Reports, to Consumer Review, I've read the pros and cons, yes, we can safely say I did my homework. After the week of research, I made my decision, the Kumho ECSTA's. Immediately after driving out of Suburban Tire, which is where I had them installed, I felt a difference. Acceleration was better and tighter, and the car felt more confident of itself on the road.

I was especially surprised at how well and how sharply the car turned afterwards, it definitely had an edge. I then entered the highway, and blazed away at about 95-110 mph, no noise to be heard what so ever from the treads, and lane changing required just a nudge on the steering wheel to either side and the vehicles response is fantastic. Traction on both wet and dry are very good, I definitely have no gripes about these tires.
Bottom line, you really can't get much better for the price, excellent tired, excellent value, and excellent performance.

Strength:

stiff sidewall, looks(good looking tire),price, moderate to good handling, ride, grip under braking.

Weakness:

tire give a little underhard cornering, but predictable, rain handling when acceleration from stop.

I have the 205/40/17's currently and I am pretty pleased with the tire. Dry weather the tires pretty good. under real hard cornering they tend to give a bit, but it is precdictable. Wet weather they are good but not great. Tires are however very east to learn. I do a lot of driving on back mountain roads an they seem to hold up well, overall a good tire for the everyday sport driver.

compared to toyo's and prelli's of same level a much better tire.
