Strength:

They have great traction in both wet and dry weather. They are very quiet and improve acceleration slightly and braking noticeably. The biggest improvement however is in the handling and cornering. also great looks with the tread pattern.

Weakness:

none

I have the 215/45/17 Zr tires on my car and they ride extremely well. I had previously installed eibach springs and with the tires and springs the ride quality cant be compared to stock. The tires look great, they have excellent traction and the price is very good. Compared to yokohama dunlop bf goodrich there isnt any comparison. The only tire comparable are falken tires and they are louder on the road and dont last as long. if you are looking for great quality street tires than kuhmo ecstas are the right choice.

Strength:

-Excellent Response and Superior Grip in Wet or Dry Conditions, drives really well in wet wheather.
-The tyre is great for high speed performance.
-low noise
-Excellent breaking.

Weakness:

havent got any complaints

A great tyre for high speeds, street use, sticks like glue to the road. Handles great, does fast corners well. I've hurt them in the wet wheather and they still stick perfectly to the road.
I have the 235/45ZR-17 on the rear and the 215/45ZR-17 on the front of my 92 Nissan 180sx (an import from Japan with the SR20DET engine, i dont think they're found in the US, great car though), i great performance from my tyres, i haven't had them for too long (a month and a half), from what i can tell they seem to be maintaining their tread, and i've been working them pretty hard.

Strength:

Low Price, aggressive tread

Weakness:

Poorer handling than I expected. Not a good rain tire at all, also tends to follow grooves in the pavement.

I could tell the difference between the Kumo's and the Coopers immediately. The Kumho's don't provide the traction I expected, especially in the rain. The price however is very attractive, although I noticed the price has risen to $73 this week. I don't think I'll buy them again...possibly the Ecsta 712's instead, or Yokohama A520's.

Cooper Cobra GTZ's. The Coopers of the same size (255-55R15) seemed to put more tread down, hence better handling.

Strength:

Firm sidewall gives quick response
Quieter than some other tires I've used
Seem to be lasting a long time

Weakness:

The grip is pitiful. Lateral grip is poor, straight line grip is horrible, wet traction is scary. I've completely broken the wheels traction loose in a relatively torqueless Honda just by shifting quickly to 3rd gear in the rain.

All in all, I'm disappointed with this tire. For another $15-20, you can have Yoko A520s, which are noisy, but they grip well in the rain or even better in the sun. I remember going in to replace my A520s with the Kumhos. Just leaving the tire shop, I gave it a small amount of throttle and a careful engagement of the clutch, which would have been no problem for my old A520s, even in the rain. The Kumhos, though, immmediately started spinning instead of grabbing. Blegh. The bad news, is that they don't wear quickly, so I didn't even have an excuse to replace them as soon as I would have liked.

Yokohoma A520s: Noisier tire, but its grip is much much better than the 711 Kumhos.

Model Reviewed: '93 RX-7 Twin Turbo

Strength:

Superior traction, track very well with great feedback, quiet, see summary.

Weakness:

Hard to find in stock at time of purchase.

I have been racing with SCCA for 16 years (2 National Championships) and I have not found a better tire, period. The fact that they were the least exspensive is only a bonus to that fact. My RX-7 is very stable at 155 MPH (don't try this at home). It would take a lot of convincing for me to switch tire brands at this point, I doubt an offer for free tires would even do it. I am goint to put a set on my Durango.

Goodyear Eagle F-1. Nearly $300. Performed only slightly better in standing water, otherwise worse in all other aspects.

Strength:

Quiet, run in the rain and dry very well. Last a good long time, even though I punish the tires in my Volvo 850 turbo.

Weakness:

Can't think of any. Have put 15,000 miles on them.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with these tires.

Strength:

- Race-proven technology, the Ferrari-Porsche Challenge of Europe
- High performance coupled with ultimate traction.
- European design and styling
- Good ride quality and little road noise

Weakness:

None at all

Last autumn, I put the first set of new tires on my 1996 Honda Civic. I went to the Discount Tire in Houston, Texas and was clueless as to which tire to purchase. After some advice from the salesperson, I decided upon the Kumho ECSTA Supra 711 Tire. I have had the tires on the car a little over a year and have been very satisfied. The car handles like a new vehicle, these tires handle very well on wet roads, and have held up perfectly through one year of 60 mile commutes to college. I have the tires rotated and balanced every 3,000 miles and there is hardly any treadwear at all. If you are in the market for quality and desire tires that perform, then look no further than the Kumho ECSTA Supra 711.
