Strength:

quiet ride, good looks.

Weakness:

No traction. Relatively quick wear compared to previously owned tires.

These tires came OEM on my '97 Z-71 extended cab. To preface this review, the tires evaluated were always maintained within established inflation guidelines.

The tires performed mediocre to poor in all driving conditions. On road, the driver had to pretend he/she was driving on ice if the roadway was wet to avoid a potentially disastrous event due to the extremely weak performance of these tires. On road, the tire got you were you were going but performed subpar in the cornering, adhesion, and other road oriented tire performance measures. Off road, I had no confidence to drive anywhere other than highly maintained gravel country roads. I drove the tires in light mud once and barely managed to avoid getting stuck due to the rapid buildup of mud in the grooves of the tire. I didn't attempt to drive any rutted or rocky trails with these tires.

To sum it all up, the performance of these tires were so bad I replaced them at 23K. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE THIS TIRE OR ANY OTHER GOODYEAR TIRE AGAIN and will more than likely quickly replace any new vehicle I may purchase that comes with Goodyear OEMS.

I replaced these tires with Dunlop Radial Rover RV's and have noticed a night and day difference in wet/dry traction and off road performance. I am looking to replace my Dunlops and will more than likely try Bridgestone Dueler AT's or Michelin LTX AT's.

Model Reviewed: 1997 Dodge Dakota

Strength:

Pros: Getting about 110,000 miles on a set of five tires. I rotate with a five tire rotation regularly at 6,000 mi increments.

Weakness:

Cons: Ride gets more rough in the later stages of the tire. After around 90,000 mi. the tire has a wobble at between 68-78 mi/hr. Smooths out after 78 mi/hr.

I have to say that I am highly impressed with this tire. My Dakota has 105,000 miles and these are still the factory originals. This is the longest I have ever owned a tire.
