Strength:
Good looking good on dry roads
Weakness:
No good on wet roads after one year.( about 10000 miles)
Bought my car at a dealer brand new in Jan 07. The car come with Goodyear eagle rs-a. The tires looked good NEW and worked well in rain and dry when NEW. I always put snows in the winter living in the north east. We now have 45000 miles on the car, remember I replace the tires in the winter. The tires are still good no dry roads but in the rain it is like I'm driving on ice in the winter. They are unsafe in the rain,I would never think of driving with this tires in snow. The tires are two and half years old and it is time for me to replace them. My wife is the one that drives this car 85% of the time. She gets on the Hwy for 1 hour every day, very little city driving on the tires. Not happy at all. Would never buy this tires again. |

Strength:
Nice brand name. Thats all.
Weakness:
Tires became bold in like 10,000 miles. Bad on breaking, scary in rain. Me and my wife are very cautious drivers. We are not breaking hard nor accelerating hard. The tires went from new to very (I mean VERY) old look in less than a year /w around 10,000 miles. Bad from start. Similar Products Used: Cannot compare these to any other tires I had. Firestone Firehawk are excellent. Even cheap Warrior (Chinese brand) that I had on older Focus and Elantra were much better tires. |

Goodyear Eagle RSA Tires
Strength:
They are a nice shade of black
Weakness:
These tires will help stimulate the economy since you have to replace them every 12,000 miles! I have a 2005 Lexus. It came with Goodyear Eagle tires and at only 27,000 miles I needed to replace them. So I thought I would stick with these tires. They were bald in 12,000 miles in just 13 months. Are you kidding me? This is my wife's car and we're in our sixties. We are a young sixty, but not drag racers. I paid $200 ea for these tires. I would consider buying these tires again if they sold for $2 with free installation and a new Lexus. Otherwise Goodyear should consider moving to china! Similar Products Used: I have used most brands of tires. I have 7 cars. These are much worse and much more expensive than generics that I purchased. |

Look Sporty
Weakness:
Very Noisy
No idea what Goodyear is thinking - these will likely damage the remainder of their reputation. These are appear to be very popular OEM tires and are unsafe for anything other than dry pavement. Similar Products Used: I have had good luck with Pirelli, Michelin Pilot and Bridgestone Turanza A/S tires. Much more predictable all year round. |

I don't understand the purpose of this tire being as costly as it is when it only get's 15,000 to 20,000 miles.I do understand that it's performance but if you have to replace tires every 20,000 miles they should be price effective as well. I don't care about a name, GOODYEAR means nothing to me. |

Strength:
Really quiet tire on dry (paved) roads.
Weakness:
Too much squealing when making hard turns or jackrabbit accelerations. These tires came factory stock with my 2007 Honda Civic LX. I am a pretty aggressive driver from time to time, and I even try to make the tires spin on wet roads at every stop light, but they just won't cooperate with me. I do a lot of twists and turns on the corners, and it felt like the whole car was about to tip over (probably because the car is light). I thought I was going to see a set of Bridgestone Turanzas on my car, but Goodyear for a Japanese branded car? PUL-LEASE! |

Eclipse GT
Strength:
Very long tread life, good dry traction, stand up to abuse well, little loss of performance throughout tire life.
Weakness:
A little shaky in high speed cornering, could have better wet traction. These tires came factory on my 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. I recently had to replace them after putting 66,700 miles on them over the course of a two and a half years. They lasted as long as they did even though they were abused from time to time (e-braking, speeds in excess of 140 mph, hard cornering and lots of time on gravel roads.) I also didn't keep up with the rotation as much as I should have. All said and done I would have bought these again if I could have found them with the same speed rating without having to pay dealership prices. (The tires that came on it were V rated, and I could only find H rated RSA's in my area.) If you like to push your car on the road or the track these tires will keep up with you and give you plenty of warning when they need to be replaced. Similar Products Used: Yokohama V4S, Bridgestone Potenza. |

Weakness:
Everything except sunny weather. I just drove through a typical winter situation in Eastern Canada and let me say that it was one of the scariest things I have ever gone through. After driving through the storm I thought that I was just expecting to much out of the tires but a couple of days later I drove back home taking the same route and 90 percent of the roads were bare and all was well. During a couple of pass attempts I went through a small amount of slush and nearly had to turn around to pick up my heart that almost jumped out of my chest. I would expect that from a set of tires with 100,000 kms on them, not 25000 kms. I have owned my car since late spring 2007 and until the snow came I had no problems with the tires, but unfortunately snow is a reality that all Canadians have to deal with. I will be doing a lot of driving in the next couple of months and it is very disappointing that I just bought a new car and now I have to go out and drop cash on a new set of tired that can make up for the shortfalls of these tires. |
