Strength:
I've used these tires for the entire 5 yrs ive owned my sc2. Ive never had any problems and i drive very fast ALL the time. The stick like glue around corners. In 5 yrs I never hit anything. they wear even and dont cost much.
Weakness:
they transmit a lot of road noise but I dont care. also in extreme cornering they dont slide very much, they just stick until they cant and then break completely loose. a little more warning noise or something would be nice. they just dont squeal. whats not to like. Im going to by some today as a matter of fact, thats why i stumbled across this thread. Similar Products Used: None |

Low price.

They definitely aren't the best in snow performance. I disagree about performance in the rain. Similar Products Used: Eagle GT + 4. |

Strength:
the only strength i saw was: these tires keep the rims from touching the ground...and uh... thats about the ONLY strength - wait!, they also look real pretty when plenty o' Armour All is applied to them. and they have a cool nickname - "Firestone FIRESUCK GTA"
Weakness:
weaknesses.... lets see... well, i dont think that traction was an issue addressed during the engineering of these tires-be it wet or dry traction. they make a heck of a lot of noise on the highway, and the ride quality is comparable to the rollers on Fred Flintstone's Car. basically, if you have these on your car as standard equipment and it is your first car, you dont know any better and you think that being able to do a maximum of 35mph on a 30mph turn is great. then, when you get some other tires that are able to do 60mph on the same tire, you finally see how sorry these tires really are. wet weather traction for these tires are basically non-existant. I drive a stick-shift car and these tires caused spin-out at every green light i attempted to drive away from. And god forbid you drive over a water puddle! your whole life will flash before your eyes when you notice the dramatic hydro-plaining these tires cause! since losing the firestones, i upgraded to Toyo Proxes FZ4's. I don't know why in the world anyone would trust their life to the firestones. i was very dissatisfied with this product and i am sure i wouldnt buy ANY firestones again. If i get a new car with these as standard tires, i will be sure to have the dealer change them with ANYTHING other than them. Similar Products Used: compared to: vinyl records screwed to the hub - at least the records will make better road noise. not to mention the increased cornering abilitys. |

They were round when they were new. Now they're sort of free form, with flat spots and bulges. The tires DO continue to retain air pressure, which, I guess, is still among their BEST qualities.
Weakness:
Handling: Dry - Adequate When I ordered my 2001 Ford Focus, I was assured by the dealer that it would be equipped with Goodyear Tires. When delivered, however, there were those miserable Firestones. My dealer assured me that the tires were FULLY covered by my FORD new car warranty, and that Ford would resolve ANY problem I might have with the tires. They got me home from the dealer!
Weakness:
Grip, Ride, Handling, Dry Traction, Wet Traction, Snow Traction I cannot believe that Saturn still sells these tires on their cars! These tires came "Stock" on my 1995 Saturn SC2 Coupe and spent about 10,000 miles on the car simply because I was "CrAzY"! I was thinking that once they "wore-in" they would be better - Cheah-Righeet! I replaced them with Dunlop D60A2's, these are fantastic tires! The Dunlop D60A2's deliver everything that small, value-oriented sports coupes and sedans ever hoped to provide to their drivers - Handling, Control, Versatility, A Nice Ride - and all done for < $60 / tire! Firestone can go to take their tires and shove em' up their @ss! Similar Products Used: Dunlop D60A2 |

Weakness:
Snow and Ice. Worst Tire I have ever owned. My camaro with a V8 and bald Good Years had better traction than these in the snow How the hell cam they sell these as an all season tire? If I die this winter in a car crash, my parents are aware of the issue and will feel free to sue. Similar Products Used: Stone or Wood wheels would have these beat any dau |

Cheaper than other name brands.
Weakness:
Slippy on rain and snow. Short tread life. I purchased 1 set of Firestore tires from a Goodyear store because the guy there told me I didn't have to buy name brands like Goodyear (my original one). These tires are bad, not as good as the Goodyears I used. BTW, I think Mich. is the best. Similar Products Used: Goodyear GA - noisy and a little bit slippy but not as bad as this one. |

I wish I could put something good about this tire. How about...its round.
Weakness:
horrible tread life. Dangerous in the snow AND rain. Don't recomend taking the tire over 80mph. And, if you didn't allready know, its a Firestone!! This tire comes stock on few cars (Saturn, Cougar to name a couple). If your going to drive this car which I'm assuming you are, I would take these tires off the minute you get this car for the safety of you and the people on the road with you. I have had my car for about a year and a half so I have experienced all the seasons with this tire. I recently changed to the Dunlop SP 5000 and its like a have a new car. Great in the rain (haven't had a chance to try snow out yet but thats coming up)and dry handling is excellent. Who knows, maybe if Firestone realizes what an unsafe and horrible product they made, they might recall this tire too. But then again, thats nothing new for Firestone. Similar Products Used: A similar product would be a bagel but since we cant put that on a car...how about Nitto 450, Dunlop SP 5000, Toyo Proxes any other high performance all-season radial. |

Good in dry conditions. Good wear pattern, but rotated every 6000 miles helped.
Weakness:
Wet or Snow traction Terrible! Somewhat noisy. These tires were stock on my Contour SE, they corner and drive well in dry conditions, but Fail in all other conditions. With less than 10,000 miles, they were very dangerous in the snow. I was safer in my Camaro! They are also more noisy than other tires I have owned. |
