Strength:
Great handling, grip, dry and wet traction. At all speeds, the tire maintains a consistent feel of the road. Stiff sidewalls and the bead of the tire overlaps the edge of the rim, thus protecting from threatening rocks or curbs.
Weakness:
1) Don't even attempt to use in the snow. Learn from my mistake (slid 100 ft. at 10mph in the snow into utility truck)... 2) The silicone compound looses its gripping properties under colder conditions. I have used SP9000s (205/55R-15ZR) for the past 3 years on my 95 Accord EX-R Coupe. Even at high speeds (exceeding 130mph), the car feels solid, and confident. Great stiff sidewalls and incredible dry traction that keep the power to the road (even with a 15" size). Unfortunately my car does not have LSD, but these tires will still grip the pavement when I use NOS. Even in the the rain, the directional design consistently prevents hydroplaning. Similar Products Used: Yokohama AVS (ok product), Nitto NT555 Drag radial (I'll stick with the SP9000s)... Even though they are pricey, I would go for the new Potenza S-03s (best tire on the market in my opinion) |
