Chevy Blazer ZR2
Strength:
Blazer came with Long Trail T/A. I have had two sets. They were quiet, I got 70,000 miles a set. Great traction, smooth ride.
Weakness:
I can't find them. Replaced them with Yokohoma Geolander and I hate them. Ride hard, slide too easily. I am now looking for a new set of Long Trail T/A to put back on my Blazer. |

BF Goodrich Long Trail TA
Strength:
Looked nice when first purchased, fairly quiet at first and decent ride at first.
Weakness:
Began to wear very quickly(within the first two months), with wear came loud road noise, began checking on outer edge within months and consequently the ride became rough. For such highly rated tires I cannot ever see buying another BF Goodrich set of tires regardless of the model. I bought a complete set and find myself having to replace them after just a years time. I mean they are shot(checked, very thin tread after a year. I had these tires rotated and balanced per manufactureres recommendations and nothing would help stop the etremely quick wear of these BF Goodrich tires. Similar Products Used: Bridgestone and Michelin tires. Initially had Micheling tires on the truck and got great and extended use of these tires. Have Bridgestone tires on another SUV and they are a great ride and and appear to be wearing very well at this time. |

BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A Tires
Strength:
Appreciable Road noise reduction and smoother ride.
Weakness:
Noticable reduction in fuel efficiency from 27.8 to 25.6 MPG on 2007 Honda CRV. Glad about the reduced road noise, but buyer beware on the rather dramatic decrease in fuel consumption. Not sure if a lifetime drain on pocketbook is worth less noise. |

i have noticed some slight slip in wet conditions. tires came on truck in 2001 and i just had them replaced yesterday after 81,000 miles. i think they could have made it another 10,000 miles, but i didn't see any point in stretching them out. great tires!! |

Long, long life. Nice ride.
Weakness:
Not the best traction on wet blacktop roads. Tires came as original equipment on my 2003 F150 supercrew. They have 76,000 miles and are starting to show some wear on the edges. Best tires I have ever had. |

No problems and 5 years! This is year 5 with the same tires, 133,000 miles. Talk about a deal. They are starting to dry rot, so it is time to replace. I have them checked every time I have service, and the technicians have been shocked by the mileage and great shape of tires. |

Had a choice between these and same size, same price Goodyears. I've been a Goodyear guy for years, but was less than pleased with tires on Toyota. The Goodrich Long Trail totally blew away the Goodyears! Much smoother quieter ride. Much better on wet road! Actually getting better gas mileage, nice bonus! Sorry Goodyear, Goodrich gotcha beat with this tire! |

Ford F150
Strength:
38,000 miles?
Weakness:
High noise, Low traction When I purchased my new vehicle it came with the B F Goodrich Longtrails as standard equipment. From the beginning I noticed that the tires would break loose from the pavement fairly easily with moderate acceleration. The F150 has a v8 Triton and relatively low body weight with no load, so at first I thought perhaps it was just an adjustment to be made on my part. However in the intervening years it has become a real annoyance dealing with these tires. In even a light rain they have little traction and the rear tends to slide. They have always been loud and mywife has never enjoyed riding in my vehicle due to the bouncy ride. Turning corners in either direction at low speeds has always been accompanied by a loud squeal. I keep the tires inflated properly and tipically drive 30 miles a day half of wich is highway driving. The tires are now 38,000 miles old. The two fronts have developed separated belts and the two rears are now less than 5mm of tread. While I feel I should have had a bit more life out of them, I am far more dissatisfied with the performance I received while they lasted.I have just replaced them with a competitors product and am already pleased that all the above issues seem to be resolved. BF Goodrich Long Trail TA
Strength:
Decent noise level. Great treadware, good grip in all conditions. (110in of snow this year)
Weakness:
None that I have found...an occasional stone in tread after travelling gravel roads, but not really an issue... Bought with a 1997 Toyota T 100 4x4 1/2 ton truck in DEC 03' 69k on tires now and 3/4ths tread left will easily make 100K. Even wear on all 4 (pretty good on a 4x4) only rotated 4 times since owned. Great in all weather conditions from Highway to 2-tracks. For those of you unlucky to drive the roads in MI after a tough winter you know how terribly rough the the roads can be. Best tire I have had yet, there are probably better tires, but very few that provide such a value for all around, all season use... Similar Products Used: Wranglers, Kelly, Generals, Yokahama... |
