Super Short Shifts. Feels like its at least 40% decrease for me. My shifting is 10 times better. Perfectly smooth now. (The shifter use to be a guessing game how far I had to pull back and cordinate that with the clutch, so sometimes it use to jerk a little- thats why I say it improved.)
Weakness:
4th gear seems like its about 15% shorter unlike the rest, but nevertheless, still amazing. Dont really consider it a weakness, but more of a notice. Also this isnt really a weakness once you realize how good it is, but i thought in the beginning it was a bit pricey, but now I think it wa s well worth it. I purchased this today, installed it today, and tried it out. Installation is rather difficult if you don't know the name of the screws.(I just went on google images and looked up and printed each ones picture). As the other Prelude guy said, cutting out a chunk of the shift gloves frame. I don't have it quite right tonight, but am going to fix it tommorow.

at Least %40 at the minimum increase of throw.. mine feels lyke 50% increase plus i got a MOMO shift knob sooo its looken mighty tight right now... the gear shifting is nice and stiff compared to the stock shifter..nice short throw wen accelerating at high SPEEDS like me..damn plus you cant grind you gears as easy anymore like the stock...its possibly hard to grind your gears if you know how to drive you car well......
Weakness:
installing it is a BI*CH...if you dont know what your doing... and takes a couple of days to break in ..soo you know the real feel of the shifts.. This product it tha shi* i recomend this for every body...but theres a catch if you dont know how to install it its gonna be a bi*ch to install....i never experience how difficult that short shifter would be hard to put in IF you dont know what your doing.... if you do you lucky...if you dont damn gewd luck and its doesnt take 30 min. it takes about 1 hour or more if you dont know what your doing..... but the Nuespeed short shifter is tha way to go.....and another thing dont listen to the nuespeed dirctions avoid direction #3 dont use a wrench.... there telling you tha wrong tool if you want to know that rite tool E-mail me at xkayoticxracerx@aol.com |

Shifts are MUCH shorter, I have no idea how I used to drive with such long throws. I literally cannot grind the gears anymore, no matter how fast I try and shift. Excellent value... though a little bit pricey, I enjoy it so much I guess it was worth it.
Weakness:
None that I can think of, except that the shifts are still notchy as hell, especially 2nd gear. Neuspeed recommends the "solid shifter", which replaces the connecting link to make things smoother. If you want a shorter shift lever, go buy one, this mod only reduces throw length. This bad boy was a ROYAL PAIN to install..... ONLY because my 15 year old bolts were so stuck on, haha. Once I got the old selector shaft lever, the new one went on in about 5 minutes (after about an hour of being pissed off at the old one). Does NOT lower the shift knob height at all, this is an under the hood modification, you replace the thing that connects directly to the gearbox. It's a must for Prelude (Prelude's shift feels twice longer than Integra...grrr)
Weakness:
umm... when I try 3rd and 5th gear, adapter makes little short rattle sound.. well... it's not too bad.. it was a just adapter that came for my prelude. Installation was pretty fast except cutting inside plastic part out.(so higher sitting adapter won't touch). 5th gear of Prelude was very very FAR before (even missed 5th gear few times *sigh*) . but.. now it's just a snap to put 5th gear. all gears felt shorter (not that much though). Instillation Shorter throw Doesn't have a very "notchy" feel
Weakness:
break in period Awesome upgrade! After about a week to break it in, short shifter worked wonders. Instructions were easy to follow, took about an hour to put it in. Throw is about 50% shorter. Doesnt sit too low like some others i've seen, although it is much lower than stock. Easy effortless shifting. Similar Products Used: stock shifter |

Much shorter shift Inexpensive High quality
Weakness:
None, as of yet I put the neuspeed short shifter on my car about 6 months ago and have had no problems at all. It is a much shorter shift and was well worth the investment. The feeling of tearing through the gears at red line is amazing. It looks great too. It took about 45 min. to install and i haven't had to monkey with it since. I would highly recamend it. SOLID CONSTRUCTION MUCH SHORTER SHIFTS
Weakness:
THE DIRECTIONS WERE TOTALLY CRAP! JUST USE YOUR BRAIN, AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO INSTALL IT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. SHIFTING WAS NOTCHY AT FIRST, BUT GIVE IT A WEEK OR SO, AND IT WILL LOOSEN UP. PRICE-A LITTLE HIGH THE NEUSPEED SHORT SHIFTER SEEMS TO BE A GREAT SHIFTER. INSTALLATION WAS A BREEZE, AND IT SEEMS THAT THE SHIFTS ARE ALOT SHORTER! I CAN FEEL WHEN SHIFTING THE SHORTER THROW! OVERALL A GREAT SHIFTER! Similar Products Used: STOCK....HA |

It is shorter
Weakness:
Harder to get into gear. Still notchy. doesn't lower the shift knob height. Isn't worth the money I just bought a Neuspeed short shifter for my 2001 GTI 1.8t and I must say I am quite dissapointed. The shift knob didn't get lowered one bit and the shift shaft is not even replaced. The shifting is still notchy (although now shorter) and its much harder to get it into gear. I guess that's to be expected though by decreasing the mechanical advantage. For $170 Neuspeed gave me a hunk of metal that's a shorter throw but isn't any smoother or easier to get into gear. I was expecting a buttery quick shift. |

Very sturdy design unlike some that I have seen. The shifter does what it says it does.
Weakness:
The install directions are very simplistic but anyone with a little common sense should have no problem. Great product. I installed it last night and there is nothing like it. It is like night and day. Before my shift distance was about 6" from first to second gear. Now it is about 3" to 31/2". Very nice feel and no missed shifts. Took about 45 minutes to install by myself. Similar Products Used: DC Sports, K&H, B&M |
