Strength:

Save a lot of $, friendly service, prompt answers to phone calls.

Weakness:

I guess no sales agent. But that doesn't bother me.

Travelers is great. I have called them numerous times and they have always exceeded my expectations. Service is great, polite and friendly. When I was adding our house to our policy the rep. was awesome, we were joking around and having fun. Which made my day and hers. The price quote that I recieved on my new 2002 Protege 5 was right on the $. I told them all the equipment that it had and got the quote that I am paying. Do realize that if you call in and are guessing that your new car MIGHT have side air bags and doesn't that might slightly affect your quote. Along with other additional equipment. I am saving over $600 with Travelers from my previous insurance company. We have both cars and our house on them and I couldn't be happier with them.

Strength:

I have had Traveler's insurance for a little over 3 years now. I like them because they are convenient, and a human being still answers the phone at the agent's office. They offer direct debit billing, payable on a monthly basis. I hate having to manage an insurance fund for a single payment every six months. Seems like the initial cost to setup the account was low, too.

Weakness:

Proof of insurance is on flimsy oversized paper that you have to cut out to fit in your wallet. Would love it if they sent out laminated cards that fit in a normal wallet slot.

I pay $111/month to insure my 1996 Honda Civic and my 1 bedroom apartment in Atlanta. My fiance carries State Farm, but we will be transferring his SUV and house over to Traveler's when we are married. The rates worked out to be the same, but I prefer paying insurance every month instead of the extra accounting it takes to earmark funds for a single payment every 6 months.

cheaper than Prudential. Competitive with State Farm.

Weakness:

Pricey policy, can't get there records straight with their agents, 9-5 hours.

Travelers was the insurance I received through the agent's lottery. Pricing is expensive compared to others, bad record keeping and sometimes the Traveler's agents are pretty nasty. After my insurance agent closed shop, Travelers was suppose to handle my coverage directly, but everytime I call them for a question, they would tell me to speak to 'my agent.' I would tell them my agent no longer exist and that they were handling my policy directly, but to no avail they would tell me there is nothing they can do but for me to speak to 'my agent.' I would hangup and call again and the second person at Travelers would aknowledge that indeed they are handling my account directly. What a pain it was, everytime I had a question, I needed to call at least 2 -3 times until I got someone that actually took the time to look at my records. And to boot, the hours of operation is 9-5 M-F. What is that for an insurance company?

Strength:

Great price.

Weakness:

Not much..Besides renewal policies...See below.

Had great service up to my 65mph in a 55mph zone speeding ticket. Refused to renew my policy. Okay, I'm moving on and paying just a little more with CNA. I was completely satisfied up until I was treated like a red headed step child for a minor traffic violation.

Strength:

Have had good service all around. It is sold via AAA here in Colorado. Had a $5,000 collision in 1997, and whole rebuild process went smoothly. I have other policies through them as well.

Weakness:

Maybe it's the whole industry, but even as our insured cars get older, the rates don't get lower.

Check it out through any AAA office in the Denver area.

Strength:

Cheap insurance to lure you in.

Weakness:

False quotes over the phone that cause headaches later on.

Bought Travelers auto insurance through an Internet sales organization and received great rates. I wanted to buy a second car and call Travelers first to verify my costs on insurance on new vehicle. I recieved a quote to add this second car on to my policy and it was reasonable. I was told to pay partial premium and renew both vehicle's insurance when the original insurance came due. When the renewal Travelers over doubled the premium and ignored the quote they gave me. I call and found Traveler employees very un helpful.

State Farm insurance. Been with them for over 20 years. I would stick with them, but their agents hire stupid employees, that loose checks, don't call back etc.

Strength:

Very competitive price

Weakness:

I've had no problems they have all my business

Reasonable rates, every time I've called I've gotten my problems resolved.
No complaints.

For 100/300 coverage they are extremely reasonable. I compared State Farm,
Progressive, Alfa and Geico. Progressive was *slightly* ($20/year) cheaper
but I'd heard horror stories.
