We purchased auto and home insurance from Farmers. Worst mistake we ever made. We contacted Graham Messer with Farmers and he gave us quotes. We paid our homeowners insurance but never recieved a bill for the auto policy. When we finally receieved the bill it wasn't what was quoted. Insurance agent kept saying he would correct it, never did. They also have a bunch of junk fees added into their policies. We called Farmers and the insurance agent, both were very hard to work with. We canceled our policies 2 months after we got them. We never received bill after cancelation. We then recieve a bill from collections. In my opinion Farmers Insurance isn't worth the time it takes to get a quote. Don't bother go elsewhere. It'll save you a lot of time on the phone. Thank goodness I never had an accident.

They service their customers very poorly!

Farmers has been my insurance company for several years. I've had two accidents in the last 1-1/2 years, neither of which were my fault. In the first, Farmers was overseeing my claim with the other insurance company. I did not get the replacement value of my 2002 Honda Accord with 52000 miles on it and had to put about $2000 with what they gave me to get a comparable car. Farmers said they would not even have valued my car THAT high. In the 2nd accident, my 2002 Toyota Camry with $54000 miles was totaled. Farmers valued my car and deducted almost $1000 for door dings and what they said were stains and scratches on the interior. Geico was the other person's insurance company. They gave me a better value for my car, but would not pay for the taxes and insurance because they only do that for THEIR insured, not a 3rd party. I still got a better deal from Geico than from my own insurance company. I felt like they were nickle-and-diming me to keep from paying the proper value of my car. Evidently they do not have the responsibility to pay REPLACEMENT VALUE. They supposedly pay what my car is worth, and they are the ones who determine that even though they have a 3rd party do the comparison shopping. Taking the $914 off of my car's value would have kept them from the out-of-pocket of the taxes they would have paid had I gone with them. I accepted Geico's offer instead since it was a few dollars higher.

I've been a Farmers customer for 19 years. Recently, my Acura was stolen and have been battling Farmers to pay me the actual value of the car. They wanted photos as proof of the shape of the car! The car was left without a motor, seats, etc. Who has photos of their car, seats, and carpet to prove the shape? Hence to say, the claims adjuster has been extremely difficult to deal with. Not only has she "lost" the paperwork 5 times and asked me to refax it over, she is unprofessional and interrupts me when I am speaking. On two occasions she has yelled at me. I've asked to speak with the manager several times, in which I am placed on hold for several minutes, only to find that she is "unavailable" to speak with me. My agent has tried to intervene, but has been unsuccessful in helping me recover the actual value of the car. It has been 2 months and still we cannot agree. The adjuster will not accept car ads to compare prices in my area, and continues to low ball me in price ($1,000 short of the value!) The premiums I pay are great, but when you baby your car, garage it, keep it in EXCELLENT shape, and expect them to be there and be fair, don't expect it. I should have learned on the last stolen vehicle when they wouldn't pay me what the car was worth and had to fight with them unsuccessfully (They got sued for this before). They have burned me for the last time. I am now canceling my policy. ADIOS FARMERS!!! NEVER AGAIN!!

Price/Customer Service

The customer service at Farmer's insurance...well sucks. They charge an arm and a leg. We are renters and we needed renter's insurance, well they never sent us a bill and then a couple months later we have late fees! We tried online payments and we ended up getting triple charged unknowingly to us for a long period of time--and they only credited us 1 month when the error was caught! It has been a miracle that we've stuck with them so far. Run! Don't ever use Farmers--who knows what would've happened if we actually had to make a claim for christ's sake!!!!

the worse insurance group out there, you will not get a fair settlement from this insurance company, make sure you hire a lawyer before you talk to them.

Far to many to list. Robot customer service. If you ever had a really stupid desperate salemen come to door to sell you something you don't need - that is what oozes off Farmers Insurance Agents. Pitiful bunch they all are. Greedy. Greedy ****you know what.

Farmers is a frightenly bad insurance company. It will make you afraid to drive because your coverage may not be there when you need it. The agents are like the worst type of sleazy salesmen. "Agent" is way too good of a term for them. Two-bit scrounging crooks.

I rearended a another car last November. Farmers took care of everything. They totaled the vehicle I hit and had a check in his hand in four days. My truck was fixed in a timely manner and the loss of use coverage I had paid the deductible. That means I padi zero out of my pocket. My rates only went up about 15 dollars a month for the accident. I could not ask for a better insurance company or agent.

They wont pay for anything

I was hit by a car while I was riding my bicycle. The car is insured by Farmers insurance. I helped the adjusters, Mara Golden, in order to get my bike fixed. In the end she is saying it was my fault and she will only pay %20 for my bike repairs. My bicycle is my only means of transportation and now I have to wait for this small claims case.

Great agent in Millie Vickovic, she represents the company well. Coverages are great, and I had 0 problem with my adjuster.

Prices are a little high, and the mail I constantly get from them is a little ridiculous.

I'm not sure why all these bad reviews are coming in, sounds more like a bad agent than the companies fault. Anyways, about a month ago my car got slammed into by some lady. My whole passenger side was wrecked, and even though it was her fault the lady tried to blame the accident on me.
Long story short, not only did Farmers cover everything and make my car look brand spanking new, but they also won the case for me.
Another good thing about Farmers is that I called my agent when the accident happened and she took care of everything for me, mind you this was at 8 p.m. I called my agent because I didn't have the HelpPoint number, and instead of directing me to the help point she went out of her way to help me out. If any of you live in the So. California area, I highly recommend Millie Vickovic as a Farmers agent.
Anyways, all the troubles that I have been reading about Farmers is unbelievable. I know the prices are a little high, but you are paying for quality. When you are paying for your insurance, make sure you know what you are doing and ask for what you want, otherwise you'll get a basic insurance and get screwed in the end. But that's your own fault.
