Strength:

great strengh through all 5 gears. very quick at the track and on the highway. i have run a best time of 14.62@93mph with the jrsc, aem cold intake, dc sports 4-2-1 header, tanabe racing medallion exhaust, crappy tires and a sliping clutch.

Weakness:

the intilation time took a full day to compete.

i would recomend the jrsc to anyone looking to make thier honda fast and reliable. it has great tourqe and nice high end power. you can also upgrade to a 8lb or 10lb pulley (the stock is 6lb).

Strength:

The strengths are more power, reliability, gas mileage is the same (unless you floor it), whining sound.

Weakness:

A couple glitches with the install but its great

I think this is an excellent product for those who wants more power, but not the hassle of the upkeep of a turbo. It has power on tap and just floor it, and you will know u are much faster when u pass people up. It pulls smooth and hard. It's good for people that a great street car. If you want to smoke V8's its possible with a supercharged GS-R or prelude. But my car can hang with V6 Accords (200hp) and I'm an auto civic ex w/jrsc.

I haven't compared it with anything before, but as a standalone thing, the supercharger is kickass.

hey this is an update on the product... in the time it took to "break in" the supercharger, it has become a lot better and everything is running smoother. at early stages there were a few weird noises... one of which, i have determined as the supercharger. its a metal on metal kinda squeal, but thats normal since this is a screw driven supercharger. the other noise, i havent been able to determine, but i doubt its anything bad. another thing is that the placement in the engine forces an aftermarket intake slightly off that of its original position causing it to rub on some wires of some sort.(im not sure what it is, im no mechanic!) but a well placed rubber piece will solve that problem. Also, my transmission(automatic) wasnt down-shifting for a while. i'd floor it and the rpm's just slowly ride up and that is a big bad NO NO when racing! it's fine now though, running smoothly! other than that, there is the 92 octane that you must use, but gas mileage stays about the same so it really isnt so bad considering the performance gains. Since breaking in the supercharger, the power has slightly increased and became more responsive, the only problem is the unexplained noise, but no problems yet and i have logged in a good 2000 miles with the supercharger. Its great, I love it!

Strength:

Power increase, responsive(goes when you gas it), nice whistling sound, greater ability to burn rubber, claimed reliability.

Weakness:

not as powerful as i had hoped, expensive, and sound may get annoying to some.

$2650 was what i got it for which is cheaper than most turbo kits out there which run for about $3000. An all motor build up may cost more to squeeze out the same amount of HP gain, but there is the LS/VTEC hybrids that produce a 192 HP on the dyno which is considerably higher than the 160 HP of the Jackson Racing Supercharger, but I would think is more expensive. NOS would give you equal or greater gains at about $500, but isnt as reliable. Yes, I would recommend it if you dont need insanely powerful upgrades that can be harmful to your engine. If you want more power, then go with turbos or NOS OR the LS/VTEC hybrid.

Mega power! Thanks to this product, the car now feels like it has a V6 installed in it.

Weakness:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Comes with a steep price tag.

The total price with installation came to about
$5200.00 Canadian funds. The price is painful but it's an excellent product. After the dyno I've gained close to 30hp and I can even out perform my friend's integra in a sport utility.

This is a follow up from my original review of this product. After a few months my car began to detonate while boosting at partial throttle. This went on for awhile while I tried all sorts of fuel regulators and controllers with about 4 hours of dyno tuning to stop the detonation. Nothing worked and I was about to sell my supercharger because I was afraid that my engine would blow up. Then Jackson Racing came out with a MAP Sensor Controller!!! Immediately after installing it my car was completely cured of detonation. I drove the car hard nearly all day in the hot summer sun and not a knock or ping could be heard. I still think the Jackson Supercharger is a decent product but make sure you install the MAP Sensor Controller when you the supercharger in order to prevent any detonation. I got it from Jackson for $179.95.
