Reasonable Price for a performance muffler
Weakness:
Not much louder than stock on the 6 cylinder I wanted to add a performance muffler to try to get a little more HP and fuel economy in my Liberty. I have a K&N Lifetime drop-in filter in the box and hope the combo will yield results. I'm pretty anal about checking mileage so will know soon. It's just been installed, so time will tell. To be truthful I was also looking for a little more growl than stock. Not there yet will see once it breaks in a little. Similar Products Used: I had a Dynomax on my 1998 F-150 with the 4.6 V-8 and single exhaust. ( again K&N Lifetime drop in filter) Even with just the single exhaust I noticed a small increase in power and loved the exhaust note. I had a neighbor compliment me that he liked the exhaust tone also, but it didn't disturb the peace either! |

Best value around, great quality. I would recommed buying one to anybody. Terrific sound
Weakness:
Just wish they would also make car exhaust systems, maybe in the future This was one of the best buys I ever made. Their exhaust systems are very reasonably priced and great quality. Anyone looking to buy a exhaust system just go to the Dynomax web page. It's also well designed. You can even hear how the exhaust will sound when installed. |

Strength:
Dynamax 17355 has true ease of installation.
Weakness:
Directions and some harsh resonance into cabin at some rpms.
Decent kit for $250 an a $75 visa debit give back card. So for $175, my Expedition "sounds" like it's got bawz, but I'm not drag racin. I'm just roaring around loving the 5.4L sound.
Similar Products Used: Dynomax on a 92 Explorer 4.0L V6, years ago. Stop with the "my V6 sounds like a V8". It doesn't and it will not sound like it. I've had both, and this 17355 kit on the Expedition 5.4 will have you making up excuses to go out on errands and taking the long way home again. |

Strength:
Awesome mellow sound, bigger pipes, better performance and gas mileage.
Weakness:
Could have came with new bolts and rods to connect to cats pipe but meh. Kickass exhaust. Great sound, not too loud, just the ride rumble in low rpms and acceleration. Improved performance 5-8 horse power give or take, better gas mileage. Extremely happy with the after market pipe size, 2 1/4". Installation was cake, took about 20 minutes. Exactly what I was looking for. **** Similar Products Used: none |

low volume (on my car)
i bought my super turbo muffler and had it installed monday. The sound is way quieter than i expected but is has a mellow performance growl. im wondering if it is going to get louder like a couple reviews on here say it will. though it is quiet it is still noticeable especialyy at low rpms and at highway speeds but the drone is not annoying.

revving it in park sounds all right. But offcourse I havent broken it in yet
Weakness:
rusts quickly where you insert the tail pipes in the muffler Hi im 15 years old and just inherited a 1984 pontiac firebird with a 2.8 liter and dynomax catback exhaust. I havent driving it yet due to that its winter but i was wondering how it started from a take off and how much horsepower it gives it. |

Very loud on most applications
Weakness:
Fiberglass matting will burn out.. but minute muffler has lifetime warranty. I must say when i first started up my car after being used to being straight piped i was dissapointed of the interior sound. When i got out and let my friend rev it up i was still dissapointed and thought i had wasted my money. I also found that it robbed some power. A couple days later after the fiberglass matting had gotten a little hot.. it sounded kickass and i got all the power back if not more. Today after having the mufflers almost 8 months im still surprising myself with the loudness and extreme dynomax sound they put out. You can't match that low growl with anything else. The Super T is perfect for me the family man. The origanal muff had a low sound but was quiet and with no burble at idle. Prob solved and for $96.73 purchased & installed. Now it still has an awsome low sounding idle but with burble & it's a little louder. Almost a V-8 sound, friends say it's REAL hard to tell which one. When you hit the gas she opens up and let's you KNOW it's there, but still not over bearingly loud to the wife. (not that she likes it though cause it sounds cool) Now I can HEAR my truck going down the highway and still not annoy me or anyone else by it. The sport sound ones are blunt obviuosly louder than stock but if you want REAL loud get the DYNOMAX Ultra "sport sound" ones. (NOT STREET SOUND read summary above) The street sound ones are for just improved sound and not to much louder at all.
Weakness:
Dynomax made poor guy at muff shop almost cry when he heard mine at idle compared to his "Durango V-8 4.whatever" with a chamberd muff. His wasn't really a much better sound at all even with the V-8 he had. I had a Super T put on about 3 weeks ago and WOW it's perfect for my 2003 4.3L Vortech Silverado. Part# 17734 it's one of the "sport" sounding ones. Muff change only here just for sound and volume. Perfect fit and I mean perfect went right in. If other reviewers claim it's way to quiet they probably got a "street" sounding one not the "sport" like me. ("street" as in wow that sounds cool, "sport" as in honey I'm home) Check DYNOMAX.com look at the pdf sheets on these it will tell you which sound it is. Tip: In most cases the shorter the louder. Similar Products Used: BlackJack headers on 72 Chevelle with glasspacks. Flowmaster 40's were okay. I geuss I'm just fiberglass packed bias I luv that sound. |
