Strength:

Very throaty sound, makes my V6 sound like a V8. I have three other cars and there all V8's, now I have 4.

Weakness:

I would like to have a little bit more sound in the car, but my ears will probably thank me later.

I heard the guy start the car after he took it off the jack stands and WOW! I thought he did an engine swap with a V8! When I started it for the first time I could really hear the power. Mine was a cat-back kit, but it had a dynomax super turbo muffler. When I start the car it lets out a loud rumble for about 1 second that sound exactly like a V8. When I rev it up just 500 RPM it sounds exactly like a V8. People say it is a quite muffler and their right. It is very quite inside the car, but outside it is loud! And it is not an annoying ricer loud, but a deep and mellow loud. This is an excellent muffler

Strength:

Nice sound, and can hear a little rumble when taking off. Cruising speeds, don't even notice the sound. Really opened up the motor and acceleration is better.

Weakness:

There're cheap as dirt. I think it cost them less than $10 to manufacture one of them muffs. They have a thin skin and the welds are thin too. But with a lifetime muff replacement, (labor and other materials not included) can't be that bad. I figure 5 to 8 years and they'll be rusted out.

Bought car when new and it had a single, stock muff. Seen the LX models with duals and rated to have 15 more HP and 10 more ft lbs of torque. With the stock muff, when I punched it, seemed like the motor was fighting itself. Decided to go with true duals. :)

Sound that will keep One Time off your back...well made...low price...lighter than most exhaust...looks like oem so a true sleeper...

Weakness:

none yet...

I bought #17748...craftsmanship is top notch...however...the edges of the muffler are rolled not welded...very low price for the metal...fairly light...not loud at all considering i have a turbo and straight pipe...only bassy just what i needed...flows lot more air than stock obviously...it has looks close to OEM resulting in a true sleeper...

Model Reviewed: Toyota 4Runner 4WD 4.0L V6

Strength:

deep, powerful, clean sound. noticeable improvement in power and fuel efficiency. great value; better than most alternatives for much less money.

Weakness:

a little loud during acceloration due to the size of my engine (4.0L V6). perfect for guys; annoying to prim and proper wives.

Got this setup as a free replacement from the custom exhaust shop because I was dissatisfied with what they put on my 4Runner. Originally, they put on a Flowmaster 40 muffler which was WAY too loud, for $200 including pipe and installation. Then I bought a Flowmaster SUV 50 to tone it down. STILL too loud. They added a small glasspack for $50 which seemed to help. The glasspack started burning out in only a month, so it got loud again and continued to resonate too much in the cabin. The wife complained a lot, so as I began regretting making any mods to this nice, new truck, I went to another one of their stores on South Dale Mabry Blvd. Don got his best exhaust guy on it, tore out all the ghetto rigged crap the other shop through up underneath, including cheap welds, hangers to the frame, muffler, glasspack and pipe. They gave me a Dynomax Thrush Turbo muffler and large Thrush glasspack for free. This is a VAST improvement over the Flowmaster. It sounds very clean and relatively quiet at idle and cruising speed, but deep and powerfully clean during acceloration. The wife still complains, but I'm very satisfied so far in the sound, power and fuel efficiency improvement.

Strength:

Smooth soft sound, yet agressive at WOT. Price is very affordable (unlike those 300 dollar chrome setups, which will make your ears ring after a 45 minute drive)

Weakness:

A little on the heavy side for its size (approx 17 lbs). Seams are rolled, not fully welded.

Overall an excellent OE replacement choice. Sound is very soft, yet agressive during wide open throttle and not intrusive towards other motorists. I have purchased several other 'performance' exhaust setups, and all of which performed the same but were very loud. The price is excellent as well. (as low as 40 dollars on the internet).I paid 108.10 including tax for the muffler and installation. However, only time will tell to see if this product lives up to its reviews. Dynomax claims to have a lifetime warranty, but we will see about that.

Weakness:

not to loud

I have this on my 1993 civic si and i think that it is great. Some of my friends have the rapier mufflers but this one is really deep and does not drone. It also does not atract that cops at all because it has a classier look to it. I finnally can hear my car, and there is deffinetly a change from my stock exhaust. THe exhaust is not loud but it is def. deep.

Nice deep sound , not too loud , dont rust , well made

Weakness:

best mufflers for the best price

I bought the superturbo mufflers for my 91 300zx . I was very satified with these mufflers not only did they produce a deep mellow sound, I felt a gained in horse power. If you want a deep sounding muffler that you can drive daily without getting anoyed by a loud sound then get the superturbos , but if you want to get attention with a loud fart muffler look else where

Strength:

Deep mellow sound when the throttle is opened, but quiet at idle. Increased my quatermile time at track from 16.56 to 15.92. I have an automatic tranny.

Weakness:

I had buy a polished 4in magnaflow exhaust tip, because dynamax tips are ugly in my opinion. But the muffler is a solid performer. No grips!

I have an 3.0L V6 engine in my camry, and this muffler really brings out the horsepower. I have one with a 2 1/2in. diameter inlet and outlet. People say my car has a 350Z sound which is very sporty but not too loud. I love this muffler. But I did have the whole exhaust custom made from the resonator all the way to the muffler. So I do not know how it will sound with stock 2 3/8 exhaust piping. But it does sound good with the 2 1/2 piping.

Similar Products Used:

2 1/4in flowmaster 40 series muffler installed to factory piping. Quarter mile was 16.56, slightly better than stock's 16.7

good price, compact, nice looking, awsome sound

Weakness:

i wanted a faily easy and cheap exhaust upgrade for my acura. i first tried one of those typical import racing style exhausts. i got great improvement in performance and sound,,,,,,, but,,,,, the sound was just way, way toooo loud,,, i mean like you could even carry on a normal conversation in the car,, and at certain rpm's there was this resonance that would like to shake your teeth out!!! i mean come on now!!! this wasn't fun!!! so then at the recomendation of the custom muffler shop i tried the super turbo,,, and wow !! what a difference,, has a nice throaty deep grumble but not to loud,, but when you put the peddle to the floor,,,, it says : get outta my way!!!! and on the highway cruising it's barley louder than stock. very noticiable increases in torque in mid and especially upper rpm range, definatly pulls up to redline much faster and easier and smoother too. i can't say enough good thing about this muffler!!! my car went from sounding like a typical whiney honda to a turbo porsche. i'm going to spend the money i saved on a air intake and headers. all you guys out there with honda's and acura's should seriously consider one of these bad boys instead of one of those obnoxiously loud farty sounding gredy's or the like.
