Strength:

Great gains, INCREDIBLE sound, even without headers or an intake, and the looks man, you CANNOT beat the looks of this exhaust, it's beautiful. The silencer actually does a good job of silencing the exhaust.

Weakness:

WAY TOO LOUD. The thing starts screaming at you from 2000-4000 rpms, then when you cruise it drones and drones, it drives me frickin crazy. On the highway it is still so loud, it sounds like a jet plane is taking off. Way too much of a cop magnet. If the cop hears you settin off alarms, your hit, man. You could hear yourself coming half a mile away. The silencer does an amazing job of quieting down the exhaust, but you lose any gains that you have have because of it's restriction of air flow. You do however, get your torque back.

Get it if you don't mind the noise, and have enough money to pay fix-it tickets you might get. Also, don't accelerate really fast if a cop is behind you. Hell, with this exhaust you can tap the gas and it will still be loud, it is NEVER QUIET. I just ordered my GReddy SP, much quieter. I will miss the look of the Racing Medalion and it's sound, but I would rather be on the safe side and get a nice deep tone with some gains from the GReddy. Oh yeah, if you have headers and an intake, forget about conversations in the car with the Tanabe Racing Medalion, you won't even hear yourself think. If you do, the only thing you'll be thinking is about how hard your gonna kick the exhaust when the trip is over.

Strength:

This exhaust has a very nice looking canister. I love the deep tone to the exhaust and very smooth throughtout the whole gear, and great volume when put on a stock car...its not too loud, but not too soft.

Weakness:

Due to rebuilding my top half of my motor, and some of my bottom..its increased my exhaust volume to be twice as loud...BUT it still has a GREAT tone to it. Don't worry about the tone if you don't do internals!

This exhaust is really easy to install...I did it myself, and have no problems since I installed it almost a year ago. The exhaust is really light, and I got a lot of complements on the tone of the exhaust before I did internals. Did get a few compliments after I put internals, but I have to admit it is too loud.

Strength:

Easy to install, light weight, nice looking canister, nice hp gains when close to WOT.

Weakness:

inside rusting, can packing getting wet. The sound if Cops are around. Power loss at low rpm, unless your force inducted.

I've had this exhuast almost a year and it has 1 big hole in the piping and a metal tear were the hanger is. I believe mine is rusting from the inside to it being flooded one summer. I'm going to get A HKS Hyper soon because I got tired of the look of the Tanabe, plus the HKS offers more Gains for my nearly stock engine.

Strength:

It proabaly has one of the most itimidating appearances out of all the exhausts out there. It looks so mean all crooked under the rear bumper! The DEEEEP sound is a welcome addition. There were noticable gains that I could feel.

Weakness:

The droaning rumble will give you a headache on your commute home after a long day at work. And the silencer will turn your fingers black every time you touch it. Which is not a big problem...unless you got somewhere to go afterward or don't mind leaving your finger prints on everything you touch after that.

After installing the Tanabe, I get people looking to see what is behind the mean sound coming down the street blocks before I'm there. It's definetly an attention getter. My freinds say it is very itimidating from behind and gives the car a very aggressive look. My computer had a hard time excepting it at first but soon learned to love it. My fellow DSM'ers said the Tanabe would be their first choice of exhaust, if they could trade what they already had.

Strength:

LOUD, I love it, the exhaust has that new age look that looks awesome. The Apexi N1 and Greddy look are overplayed now. There is also great pick up around 3,500K and 5,000K, just hit the gas and it takes off.

Weakness:

LOUD, if you don't like it that way don't get it, the silencer helps out though.

If you get this exhaust you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, more power, just hit that throttle and you will be GONE !!! I can't tell you how much I love this system after trying out the Greddy.

You have to get this, it is beyond compare.

My friend is running a 5 Zigen rear section on his car and that is okay too but for a full cat back gotta get this!!

Greddy EVO -- It was okay, throaty, The muffler section was heavier than the Tanabe, This exhaust was pretty loud also but no silencer available.

Strength:

- Easy install. (you'll need a lift or a set of tall jackstands)
- Beautiful look.
- Very deep, throaty sound
- Very loud at WOT!
- Increase in performance at higher rpms
- Comes with silencer if you need to quiet it down

Weakness:

- Very loud at WOT!
- Very mild loss of low end torque
- Paint on flanges smells bad when it burns of on the first couple drives.

This was is very good investment for any TT Supra owner. The sound and looks are amazing! And if its too loud for you just pop in the silencer and its just a little louder than stock. Was very easy to install and took only about 30 minutes.

Strength:

Loud, adds some horsepower, good for showing off, one of the best sounding exhausts out there.

Weakness:

I didn't find it to be that loud. None other than it gets fingerprints like a mofo when you touch it.

I think more people would be happier with the Racing Medalion being that it is designed almost perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone. I didn't find it to be that loud. I had to modify the system and bold another 4 inches on to it so that it would reach my 'cat'. B/c i have a 4 door LX. :/ Still the difference shouldn't be that much.

Strength:

Highly Polished canister
Great Fit
2 year warrenty
50 state legal-has carb numbers on all exhaust sections
Thick Flanges so they won't warp
All mounting hardware and gaskets included
Very low tone at cruising speeds w/silencer out
Only slightly louder than stock w/silencer in at cruising speeds
Very nice high end sound
Muffler is rebuildable
Very low restiction
Looks very nice on car
Does not come down any further than stock muffler
Compliments aftermarket intake system

Weakness:

Some say it is to loud without the silencer, and that it droons. But they should not have bought a full racing exhaust if they did not want it to be loud. With the silencer in the exhaust is slightly louder than stock when cruising but can still get loud if you mash the throttle.

If you want a full race low restiction exhaust, Tanabe is great.
If you don't like loud exhaust check out something else. My car is a hatchback, this same exhaust on an integra might not be as loud inside the car due to the integra being longer. I would not pay more than $500 shipped.

compared to stock, it gave up a little low end, but rewards you on top end where it shines.
