Polk Audio EX Series Subwoofers
Polk Audio EX Series Subwoofers

Hoosier806
Strength:
sound quality, small enclosure, rubber surrounds, great price
Weakness:
not a lot of excursion I bought a pair to make the low end come alive. I didn''t want to blow my ears out. They handle 150watts a piece. I had a USAcoustics 2150 amp hooked up to it and it sounded descent. I then hooked up an Orion 2150 amp to it and it sounds great!!! If you have the right amp and a capacitor they will sound excellent. Well that''s the same as any speaker. They sound great at low to medium volume levels. Not recommended for spl competition. They are a great value. Similar Products Used: JL audio (the best sq sub there is), audiobahn, mtx |

Strength:
powerful bass. Hits very hard in the bandpass that can blur your vision and rattle your car to pieces. Good sound from any type of music.
Weakness:
Rattles the whole back of my car and sounds very bad from outside. Need sound damping. I got my 2 12" polks in a 4th order bandpass box wired parallel in a 2ohm load and they sound really good. I have a boss rev635 amp for there power and a awesome panisonic CQDF 600u headunit. Similar Products Used: JL 12wo, JBL GT series, |

Strength:
The sound quality is awesome for the price. I have the 2 EX II 12" subs in a bandpass.
Weakness:
There are none These subs are the best in its price range. They hit the lows and they do not distort at all. I can't imagine what the Polk Momos sound like. Similar Products Used: Pioneer |

2000 EXII
Strength:
There is nothing not to like about them, The high bass quality is super, and they hit low as hard as any other make in its class, and higher. They can take as much power as you give em and ask for more, but even with a small source of power they still will rock the car.
Weakness:
Depending on your amp you may need a capacitor, but thats the same with any set of larger subs I got 2 12"s on sale at Circuit City for 80 a peice, and couldn't be more pleased, I put them in a sealed box and didnt know how that would work, because i had only heard them in a bandpass, but the hit HARD. I have already replaced taillight screws, and 2 running light pannels, I use an MTX Thunder 152 325watt amp bridged, and that power is more than enough to hurt, although the speakers could take a lot more. these speakers will outbass most systems around where i live, and i didnt pay nearly as much as others did for their systems. If you are debating, look no further, buy the polks, you cant go wrong Similar Products Used: I used 2 punch 12"s for a while and the polks dominate totally |

Strength:
when i bout the pair from circuit city, they were 200 dollars for both twelves. i have yet to find another speaker that plays that cleanly and with such volume on so little wattage remotely near that price. i am getting 150 watts to each one in a ported box, and with the back seats folded down, i am hitting 137. not bad for two budget 12's. and, they play almost as loud as my friend's system...he has much more power and a third woofer, and he doesn't come close to the sq i have.
Weakness:
i just wish the could handle a bit more power. they have yet to bottom out or distort i would highly recomend this speaker. i am in love with mine. it out performs many speakers that cost more and use more power. my friend's envy me cause i spent half as much as they did, have better sq, and i am with in three db of most of them. Polk ex 8"
Strength:
This has to be the best "budget" woofer I've heard. I replaced the crappy factory subwoofer from my '94 Ford Explorer Limited with this 8-incher (the box needed a little modifying), and could not be more pleased This sub has very musical bass, but can definitly provide some bump when asked.
Weakness:
None. I picked up this ex 8" from crutchfield on clearence -- it was $50 shipped. I anyone is looking for a very high quality sub that can outperform most of the others in its price range, this is for you. Also, If anyone is considering buying the higher-priced dX or db models, try these first--they perform about 90% as well, but cost significantly less. Similar Products Used: Pioneer, MTX |

Strength:
great, deep bass. I would get 10" subs if you want to get accurate bass but for me the 12" had the thump that i needed
Weakness:
none you can't complain about a reasonably priced sub with a rubber surround and good gut rumbling bass. i actually liked the rumble that the mb quarts gave me better but they fried after half a year. i've had these subs for over a year now and they still sound good. highly recommend them to people who like reliabilty.
