Strength:

Wow, where to start?! This thing is awesome!!! The surround alone tells you how bad-ass it is! I have never seen a sub that puts out this much bass! It is also very musical... people like to say that these don't have much sq, well... they do!!!! SPL is first, then SQ, but for something that can hit this hard it sounds good! I think that probably the only thing that I can think of that could produce similar results, would be if you were to stand in front of Mark McGwire while he swings one of his patented 550 foog homerun swings! It can handle a lot of power!

Weakness:

I guess that it requires such an expensive/big box? But that is really a theft-deturant (I'm sure I spelled that wrong!) system when you think about it... I had to take parts of my trunk off just to get the thing in!

This thing is so Smo0otH! When bias people review it and say that it is bad... it isn't! It is one of the best subs on the market! When I first got it in, I boomed around town for a little bit, every single person turned to look at my car... this was on the very first day of having it! I can't even imagine how much better it will be when I get it broken-in! There were people pretty far away, about a block, that were looking at my car! I'm not lying either... I would be lying however if I said that people hear me from like 1 mile away... that is just about impossible! I'm only 16 and so of course I had to bump into school today, and out. I couldn't even leave at first because just about everyone around, and I go to a pretty big school, was looking at my car and/or sitting in it for a minute to listen to it! The box I got for it is the Orion HCCA box and the amp is the Orion XTR 900. That amp is pretty bad-ass too! I have the sub in series so that it goes at 4 ohms mono. When I got it installed, about 1/2 hour away from where I live, I listened to it on the way home... whoa! I had a nasty headache! And did I mention I only have one 15? I love how much better my one 15 sounds compared to people that put like 4 crappy subs in their trunk and try to boom! The best thing so far is the way you feel when you get out of the car... your throat hurts and your ears feel like they are going to pop! Haha... when you try to talk it sounds like you are talking through a fan! I must say that if you want people to look at you when you go by... get one of these... people might think that one 15 won't be that loud... trust me, when it's HCCA, it's enough!!!!! One bad thing though is the way my car rattles! The back license plate is about to fall off.... all it does is rattttttttttttttle!!! It's kind of annoying since outside the car that is all you hear =(. I really love how some people try to say that it isn't that loud, and yet you can see people looking at your car when they are way down the street! Oh, yeah... I got this thing on eBay... said refurb, got it for $189 and like $20 for shipping. The only thing wrong with it is that the sticker on the back of the magnet is kind of scrathed off... big whoop!!!! Saved me like $400-$500 dollars!!! Well, I think that will do it... Anyone that owns one of these, or that is lucky enough to have more than one of these, knows how bad-ass HCCA subs are!!!!

Strength:

SPL, lots of it

Weakness:

Price, break-in period, box specs, and locational puking.

This sub is made to deliver SPL, and it does a good job at it. It's competition quilty. This sub, in my opinion is not for everyday listening especially if you drive alot and like your music loud. Hearing lost may ocur, and interior cleaning might required due to locational puking. I am sterio-type to JL-audio, so I'll try not to describe how bad they are althougt they were never remotely in the same level and it's unfair and pathetic to compare them to the HCCA in the first place.
However, I still prefered DDs for competition.

Strength:

One loud ass sub. Plays far louder than most normal 2x12 setups. It is big and impressive to look at if you have the basket on the outside or a sexy plexi window.

Weakness:

I can only think of maybe, one or two. 1). Price if ou happen to not get a good deal and pay retail. 2). Damn things are touchy with the enclosure specs.

OK, let's just say I am a bass freak. Yes, now that that is out of the way, let's get down to business. I bought this damn thing on EBay (refurb) I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Well, I got this and I got a LAnzar Vibe 1200d amp. Let's just say that this setup is friggin insane. I have owned many high power sub setups in my days, but this ONE SUB seems to be louder than most. I can't believe it still. I had a SPL reading done at a local shop. 146.3db on the dash first run, second run was 146.8db dash, 3rd and final run was 148.8 on dash. All I can say is DAMMMN. It may not sound like alot to you guys out there, but if ya only have one sub in a sedan, it is pretty good. Anyways, back to the sub. It is big, it is loud and it was built to hurt small children. Anyone who is ready for big bass, look into this sub. It is something that you will not regret. (Just make sure you pump about 1kilowatt or more into this baby and also make sure you build the ox according to spec)

Strength:

Hard hitting, Great build quility, Great looks, LOUD, Deep.

Weakness:

NONE

This thing pounds hard, I have had mine for 8 months and it still pounds harder than my friends 4 jl 12w6's and I have pushed it really hard.
If you want ground pounding bass that shakes your car, body, ears, and everything around you GET THIS SUB!

Strength:

If you consider a borderline concussion and severe permanent hearing loss to be a good thing, then this is the subwoofer you need to buy. I dont care if you need to sell your plasma for 10 months to afford this sub; this sub is a force of nature.

I have 1400watts of power (some 2252x @ 1ohm) on this sub, and it hits hard enough to make me almost puke (if you have listened to alot of hard, low bass youll know what i mean). That is the sign of a very good subwoofer. :)

Weakness:

It is rather expensive, and it isnt the prettiest thing ive ever seen. For a thing you lock in your trunk, though, who really cares....

If you've got the cash, this is a great sub. I would definately buy this sub again. Be warned, however, that this sub really HITS. I dont know if this sub was designed to listen to music or if it is marketed as a tool for annoying your neighbors and making rediculously loud BOOOOMing noises. :)

Strength:

Good looks and great bass, but im only using my friends system for this revew

Weakness:

High price, over rated

MY friend has orion HCCAs in his car 2-12"s. I thought that was nice, but i currently have 2-12" audiobahns AW1200s and he likes my system better because its louder with acurate bass. Orion is great realy nice realy good bass, great SQ, and you can also show off when you have them because people think youre rich. But you have to look at the price 2 aw1200s $200, 2 HCCAs can run $600+. For the price i do not recomend them unless you just want them just to say you have them, Oh and i also hear that they are extreamly high quallity, and that audiobahn is not. But we will just have to see whos speakers go first, mine or my friends.

Awesome clarity. Has high SPL.

Weakness:

The worst quality is how much it weighs! Around 35lbs. Then again it could be seen as a theft deterent system

Nothing I have heard in any radio shop or any car has compared to the sound that these Subs produce. (JL, Infinity, Phoenix Gold, Boston Acoustics, I was not expecting the clarity, and quality to be that good out of an SPL woofer. Boston Acoustics 12.5 was my original choice for a subwoofer, but for the price of the Orion HCCA, there is no comparison. The specs for the woofer says that it needs 600 watts rms. I originally put 300 watts on it and they sounded great. Now I have 1200 watts going to 2 of them and my girlfriend knows when I am on her street.
