Can be used in a small box and sounds great. Hhits hard and plays deep.
Weakness:
Wires from terminals frayed only after a few weeks of use, had to solder. Needs quite a bit of power. Sounds great and hits hard for a while. Not really worth the money. Similar Products Used: Pioneer 10" |

Strength:
Great sound, hits hard, Like the styling.
Weakness:
Some seem to have a lot of flaws. The trick is finding one that will stay working. They are awesome subs when they stay working. Everyone I know is impressed by the way my car sounds. Then they are even more impressed when I tell them that I only have 1 12" sub. My cousin had 2 and never had a single problem with either. I am on my fourth one now in 12 months. The voice coil on the first one fried. The dust cap fell off then the lead wire went bad on the second one. The third one, only worked for a half a week then the lead wire went bad on that one too. They have a one year warranty, but you have to send it back to Winslow, Illinois. Within the first 90 days they will send you back a new one, after that for the rest of the year they will only send you back a remanufactured one. That's gay. Their ok. Not good for the money. When you have the radio on low the mtx logo( it is raised off the sub) rattles. They hit ok. I paid 120 for an alpine sub that hits just as hard. |

Strength:
The lowest bass i've ever heard and i`ve heard many many very good subs, but noone was as good as an EMPhaser. I must say i have never used this Sub so i can't say anything about it. The only thing i can say is that i use 2 EMPHaser Extreme T3 12 Inch subs in mei car. And its the greatest bass i've ever heard. I`ve got 2 Alpine V12 Amplifiers (each 1000watts)at these woofers and 1 Rodek 4 chanel Amplifier at the speakers (Alpine). You can believe me there is no better sub than an EMPhaser. Sorry guys but its the truth. Similar Products Used: EMPhaser, Alpine |

1989 FORD TAURUS SHO
Strength:
Reinforced ridges all the way around, sub looks indestructible, HEAVY HEAVY MAGNET (102 oz!) subs dissipate heat quickly and stay cool, great RMS & total power handling, great frequency range, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON
Weakness:
Lugging the heavy things into the car and waiting about 2 weeks or so to break them in so you can really crank it up and hear them sing With very few exceptions, the best subwoofer I have ever heard. I have three of the mtx T8000 10's in a custom built box (that is the key, you cant buy comp subs and put them in walmart boxes) being pushed by an Audiobahn A1500HCX. the subs and amp alone push over *2700 WATTS* and it slams so hard its fun to watch people look behind them down the block to see who's coming. not to mention driving through a parking garage with all the windows down dumping at full blast to see what happens. Excelent quality, extremely LOW LOW BASS all through the Fq's. excelent sound reproduction and the punch when it hits is like no other. This is, keeping in mind, them being all in the trunk of a Taurus SHO ALL THE WAYYYY IN THE BACK! If you want quality of sound and quantity of watts, go MTX. Strength:
Very good, Deep bass. Sounds a million times better in a custom box. Good excursion.
Weakness:
On the older model, The wires hit the cone sometimes, causing a rattle, but they fixed this by puttin a foam strip on there. Ok, I have 2 Thunder 8000''s ( 12" ) in my ride, and it hit''s pretty decently. I have a Jbl Bp1200.1 amp powering them. I have 2 more sitting in my room, but I am waiting to get a custom box made. I also have the RFL , But it wont fit in my car ( 89'' Honda Crx Hatchback ) And I want to sell it. I got it 3 weeks ago for $800, and I will sell it for $700. E-Mail me or talk to me on AIM at Phre0nBurn Similar Products Used: Mtx, Jbl, Kicker (I''ve used em all ) |

Strength:
I suppose the plastic cone, even though i cracked the cone on one of mine.
Weakness:
one coil, the coil is not woven into the spyder and i dont understand how a one coil woofer without the lead wire woven into the spyder can take 900 watts true power. I blew my pair of 8000 12''s three times and ive also burned the lead wires in half and cracked the cone on one, very undependable and MTX wont back them, they were powered with a very powerfull but truly rated lanzar opti1000.1D the only reason i got mine returned was i purchased the warrenty. you dont need any warrenty with Audiobahn, their enrty level sub will make mince meat of MTX''s crappy 8000''s. sorry guys i gotta be truefull Basicaly they are overpriced, MTX dosent stand behind their products ither. The sound quality is ok and they hit descent, ill give them that. Their power rating is also over rated the 12''s WERE rated at 1000 watts peak, i suppose after about a couple of thousand were returned blew they decided to drop the rating for 02 to 900 watts, sicking. Basicaly they are undependable and overpriced and also MTX has bad coustomer service Similar Products Used: Audiobahn AW1205 - class by itself, had a pair of the 12''s a year , havent blow them or burned them and believe me ive pounded them. When Audiobahn says 1000 watts RMS , they mean it. |
