Strength:
Good solid speakers very good bang for your buck. Clean sound and hard hitting.
Weakness:
Cone surface scuffs to easy. These are good subs for the price, run really good with the mtx thunder 3401 amp perfect match for them. I'm now getting ready to switch to the 12" cvr kicker with the kicker ZX550.2 amp. just needed more sound for comps. As for the person that said they were no good if your running a cheap amp well um no kidding they need a good amp to be able to power them thats the same case with and speaker and amp combo. |

I've tried many different makes and models, have had at least 30 different kinds of subs. Right now i tried putting in 2 of these 10"s in a bandpass. And can i say EMBARASSING. They sound loud but very sloppy. Sometimes it's even hard to tell how the beat goes, they can't keep up the rhythm. Even my previous 12" Sony Xplod sounded much better and cleaner. If you're deaf or just like noise and headaches this is the sub for u. If you dont have a good amp, dont even bother with these. |

MTX Thunder 6000
Strength:
really loud, deep base.
Weakness:
easy to mess up if you don't know what you're doing. I have had 2 different subs. the MTX 6000 and some POS sony's. i love the 6000's. i have 2 10" and they hit hard and loud. before i knew what i was doing i blew one because i had it wired down to a 1 OHm load. but once i got it wired correctly they sound awsome. they are also really loud. i went to an amature competion at American TV and got 142.3 DB. that is great for two 10's. if you know what you are doing it's a great sub, but if you don't they are easy to screw up. |

Strength:
Subs hit hard, They don't sound too dirty either, The price is straight, And they can last u a good long time.
Weakness:
Had mine for 3 years now I ain't got no complaints. MY 2 12 inch 6000s are still goin strong even after 3 years of abuse, These bad boys KNOCK. These are definitely great subs and will last if you know what you're doing with them, The sound they produce is great too. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
good sound for the price definatley worth 100 bucks not much more though... they are good in pretty much any box...
Weakness:
power handling is shot... my amp is putting 400 watts to it and i blew it... now that is my fault for pushing it too hard but still... i had 2 15" thunder 3000 that i completely abused for 4 yrs and they are still kickingi had a directed600 watt class d amp to them cranked and they wouldnt blow... power is def. an issue i own a 2003 VW beetle with this 15 and it slams i am hooked up with a rockford fosgate 400s and jvc digifine head unit... now i have no complaints with it as it isnt my first mtx purchase... in my city i am one of the few people with mtx and i am definately the loudest with mtx anyone who has listened to it would agree.. Similar Products Used: alpine type s... didn't care for, sounded weak... jl w0 good speaker, to expensive... mtx thunder 3000.. toughest speaker i have had the pleasure of dealing with.. couldn't blow it sounded good... |

mtx 6000 10"
Strength:
pretty good spl for the power handling...quite affordable
Weakness:
the 10"s only have a 500 w peak capacity...my one alpine 10" has 1000 w peak...not so fond of the looks either...weak sq (cone can tend to rattle) I don't know what the hype is on these things...They are decent but that would be the limit...People are talking about how they kill the 4000's...I would hope so since those are the worst subwoofers ever crafted. I have a bud with 2 10" mtx 6000's in a sealed plexiglass box running off an 800 watt pioneer premier amp...Not only does he have to turn the amp gain way down to prevent blowing them, but I have about 300 watts RMS running to one Alpine type-r 10" and it's louder than his not to mention it crushes his two tens in sound quality...These subs are decent, but I would think about shopping around first...MTX amps are probably my favorites however...I personally would invest in one thunder9500 before multiple lowerline mtx subs Similar Products Used: kicker compvr (better sq, mtx has better spl)...alpine type-r (better in both areas (better value)) |
