Strength:

I have 1 Solo 12 that is the bomb. I can hit harder and louder than anyone I met with 2 Kicker Comps. This speaker will take tremendous bass frequencies, frequencies that would blow other puny speakers. You cant beat a solobaric. It is the best all around subwoofer. It uses the least the smallest box and hits the hardest.

Weakness:

Nothing. It needs some juice but I ve got 465w mono going to one 12. Also make sure you get an external crossover to tweak it to furthest possibilities.

If you want clean, pure, consistent, hard, and powerful bass go ahead and save your cash and get the solobaric. I am completely satisfied. I recommend that you get a high quality amp and a seperate crossover.
I have a 96 2 Door Ford Explorer: with cassette and 6 disc
1 Solobaric 12"
1 MTX 2200X Bridged Mono to Sub
1 Audiobahn (not so good brand- but cheap) Bass-Drive external crossover with remote Frequency, Q-Level, Gain Control.... nice for adjusting for different music types
4 Boston Accoustic 5x7" Co-axial running on my factory amp which will be soon replaced.
I have spent about 1,000 on my stereo in my car and it is by far the best sounding system i have found for that price

Get the solobaric i truly recommend them

i have two solo12d's, I have both of these subs behind the seat of a regular cab nissan pickup. I also have 1 kicker zx 460, it is a 30 by 4 comp. amp. im only geting 90 watts to each one and hit 140. oh by the way there is somthing you can do to a box to make them louder with less power. im not going to say exactly what but i can say its not recomended by the factory and it has something to do with air space. I give this sub a 5. just keep looking you can get them cheaper. can't wait till the L7.
I recomend this sub more for someone who likes SQ, but if play with the box you can make them louder. Be smarter than the sub.

Strength:

The Solo Baric hits those low frequencies like you wouldn't believe. It hits like no other sub that i have ever heard. The design of the speaker is definetly nice and very impressive to show off. My friends have asked me if i had two or three twelves behind my seat. I only have one Solo right now but do definetly plan to buy more.

Weakness:

It does lack in the midbass area but oh well, i am going to get that covered. I definetly thought the box was going to be smaller bearly fit behind the seat of my truck. Requires alot of power, and is very costly. I paid $319.99 for my sub with the truck box, and another $400 for the amp that i am powering it with. After installation it cost me over $900!

I definetly think that this sub is worth the money that i paid for it. I turn heads all over town. I power it with a Kicker ZR 360 and it could definetly handle more but sounds great with this amount of watts. It rattles the hell out of my truck and this speaker will make you go deaf if you are not careful. Well i have definetly enjoyed this speaker and will continue too. I have to definetly rate it a 5 for everything about it except for price. All the other subs don't compare, just wait till the L7 Series, i definetly feel sorry for the competition to Kicker. They just don't stand a chance. I recommend this speaker to everybody that loves hard hitting bass and has alot of money, the only way that i got it was because of my income tax return, well enjoy.

Strength:

This subwoofer does exactly what it is supposed to do. It gives very clean undistorted sub base. It complements an already working high quality set up very well to get clean deeper lows that normal speakers can't reproduce.

Weakness:

so far nothing

I have 1 solobaric 10" installed in the back of my 99 Honda Accord. I'm powering it with a 4 channel Phoenix Gold titanium series 600 watt amp, with the rear channels bridged.

Strength:

Not many strengths, my friend at school has 2 solo 12s with the same amp as me, mtx2400x, and my 1 mtx blue thunder extreme seriously tore him up, spl, hits, sq plus it has midbass

Weakness:

depends on what you like

Not a bad sub if you are not that into car audio, good starting out sub, all i know is that my 1 mtxbte 12 tore up 2 solo 12s in a contest, it actually won me 20 bucks, thanks MTX

Strength:

This Sub Hits, will make you go deaf if you know how to hook them up right.

Weakness:

Price, but you can find them on the net cheap.

These subs hit hard and low, handle about 100 more watts than they say, that guy that said his MTX hit harder and sounded better and he beat 2 12 solo-barics with his one MTX
he mite of i dont know if hes lieing, but it sounds like the guy with the 2 12 solo-barics didnt put anuff power to them,
if you are looking to get a solo-baric cus you want a hard hitting sub go ahead it will out hit anything but if you dont feed them with in 100 watts of the max RMS watts
they will not sound all that good so if you cant feed them the power go with the XPL's they can handle less watts and will still sound good (solo-barics are a step up from the XPL's but if you dont go to car stero comps get the XPL's
cus a couple of db's wont matter if your not in comp)
and besides that you cant listen to over 140 db's for more then a few seconds cus YOU WILL HERT YOUR EAR DRUMS,any thing over 140 db's is for stero comps.

Strength:

i am writing about the kicker xpl here cause i couldnt find a review for it. the 15"xpl is the bomb. i ran 4 off an xs100 and it tore my truck to pieces and they were only getting 1/2 their recommended rms (600). i also have a kicker KQ5 which is good for 3-4 db. it is awesome for the money you cant beat it. i picked mine up for $249. for examples businesses in my town started a petition against my stereo cause it literally shook stuff on their wall when i was down the street. the box was in my bed ported to my cab by a 13"x52" hole. low bass would flex my rear wall and window nearly an inch. my doors flexed and my winshield wipers would skip. 15" xpls are awesome. i cant imagine having another xs100 and giving them all their recommended rms. i would probably be deaf. they move soooooo much air its incredible. you can put your ear right next to them and hear absolutely no distortion. (as long as your amp isnt has enough juice and isnt clipping) i could go on and on. trust me i know what im talking about and wouldnt feed you guys full of bull. xpls are the way for awesome bass. email me for more advice or comments ilikedabass@yahoo.com anybody and everybody should have xpls

Weakness:

NOTHING im telling you they're AWESOME

for my 15's in oklahoma $265. same as a 10" solo

Strength:

This pounds out the loudest, tightest bass you have ever heard and saves you tons of space. i have 2 12' solobaric 4 ohms in my acura legend and i must say that it makes my whole car rattle to pieces. you can hear me from coming from at least 100 feet away. I am powering this with a RF Power 800A2 which is giving each speaker about 250 watts at 4 ohms. These speakers could take even more power, up to 425 to be exact but 250 is plenty. I have never heard this subwoofer distort even at the highest levels. They are enough to make your ears bleed.

Weakness:

Takes way too much power to pound out bass from this sucker. In addition its bass is extremely deep, if thats what you like. I would recommend getting a resolution set with decent midbass.

I paid an average of about 180 a piece for these which was not bad( considering the 360 dollar retail) and powered it with a Power 800A3( 500 bucks) which gave it plenty of power. I am satisfied with this subwoofer and probably wouldnt have gone with anything else. I have heard good stuff about the JL W3's and W6's but havent got a good chance to hear them....go check them out as well. But in the smallest sealed box possible( i have in .88 cu ft for each sub but you can have it down to .66 but need to feed more power.)you pound out the tightest, deepest, and most accurate bass a subwoofer could bring. I would recommend this subwoofer to anyone who wants a strong, loud, tight subwoofer.

Strength:

pounds at low frequencys, durable, stiff cone for high output at high volumes, very very clean sounding, requires small box , hits extremely hard

Weakness:

somewhat inefficient, not a very huge xmax

Solo Barics have a very high performance to cost ratio. They have one of the strongest cones out there. Because of this, you can feed them lots of power without distorting them. They are one of the hardest hitting and clearest sounding subwoofers out there. I have a 95 Ford Probe GT with 3 Solo Barics and a Kicker ZR1000 amp that would impress anyone!I paid $260 a sub. I recommend these subs to anyone who enjoys hard-hitting but clean sounding bass.
