Bob must not be doing something right, because I have this sub in a 1.25 ft3 sealed enclosure driven by a 300W amp and it is tight as Hell. I'll say that it isn't the loudest sub out there, but played at normal levels (unders 130db), it is extremely tight and musical. |

Strength:
nice and clean, low distortion at high volume
Weakness:
dont quite hit as low as my cerwin vega 15's but hey... i just took out 2 15" vegas and put in 4 of these kicker compvr 12's in a custom built box (tucked, and puffed out crushd velvet looking material)in a '73 volkswagen bug (1.79 ft^3 per sub, sealed), and im liking in a lot better than the vegas. the only difference, is its a lot louder at most frequencies, but the vegas just hit lower, so i dont know what to enter the competition with (4 kickers or 2 vegas?, any ideas)? theyre gonna be hooked up to a JBL BP1200.1 amp (1 ohm with the kickers, or 2 ohm with the vegas). pictures coming soon Similar Products Used: 2 cerwin vega vega series 15's, 2 jbl loud and clear 12s, 2 jbl power 12s |

This sub cannot be blown!
Weakness:
none When i bought my 1993 mazda mx-3 i wanted alot of bass but didnt have much room for a large enclosure. So my friends at the Music Box in abingdon built me a Virtual Technology Box designed for 1 12' sub.The box costed $300 but i got my choice of a free subwoofer. i had a choice between a nachamechi 12 or a kickercomp vr 12.Of course i would take the kicker.i was not expecting the bass i would get from just 1 12' sub! it will easily blur your vision and rattle ur throat!i have drrowned out everything i have put it up against, which includes a set of 2 pioneer 12s,2 15' fosgates, and 4 mtxs in a sealed box. i highly recomend this sub to anyone who wants bone jarring bass low distortion at a great price!! 2001 CompVR
Strength:
- Tougher surround...gives it the ability to throw out louder volumes.
Weakness:
- Heavy az f%@# with the dual voice coils. The first sub I ever bought, was the 2000 Kicker CompVR 10". I was so happy with it, I sold it online and got the 2001 CompVR, which was redesigned to be hard as a TANK...and IT IS! The cork gaskets were replaced with rubber, the surround (what gives the sub the ability to flex it's bad a$$ X-Max) was also made into a rubbery type material. The dual-voice coils are good (if you have a good amp) too. This is a very hard to beat sub and it is built to last, ladies and gentlemen. Similar Products Used: JL (2nd rate), 2000 Kickers and Kenwood 12s (OK). |

Great sound with low wattage.
Weakness:
It's an old model? i want the newest? is that a weakness or my own bad luck? I've had MANY different subs in my car, ranging from 10's to 15's. by far these subs are the best i've had. they really sound good with anywhere from 50-200 watts to them. run them in 2 ohm with even a somewhat 'decent' amp and you'll be amazed at the pounding they'll produce. i have 2 of these running in 2 ohm with a kicker impulse amp driving them, and i couldn't be happier. threw these puppies in a huge MTX dual ported box from American and was forced to pull back on the volume control...little too much sometimes. don't be fooled by people saying that MTX or Rockford Fosgate are the best out there...anybody can sell that crap. work a little harder and find a "AUTHORIZED" kicker dealer. you have to be GOOD to sell this stuff. that should tell you right away how much better this is. Stillwater Designs(kicker) makes some of the best audio equipment in the entire world. they're trusted and keep coming with better stuff all the time. trust me, i've used RF, Alpine, MTX, Road Gear, American Bass, Orion, Mobile Authority(laugh), Boss...just about anything i can get my hands on. hands down kicker wins.
