MONSTER AND KING OF SUBS!!

Weakness:

uh...hey Bevis...huh huh... NONE!!

KICKS @$$!!!! When I first went to pick up my car after they had installed them...I was so excited I couldn't wait. The guy got in the car and played a song with some good bass...THE WHOLE CAR WAS SHAKING!!! You cant even put the seats down in my car and I dont have dynamat. Then he told me I could turn up the bass more if I wanted to..I was like.."WHAT?!! are you insane!!" Eventually I turned up the bass more at my house. The whole house was shaking the bass was so loud. Definitely Recommend this! I have 2 12W3's D-4 with a JL 500/1 amp. Ive already gone deaf..lol

Strength:

For 155 bucks, you cant beat it with a stick, easy wiring directions

Weakness:

Maybe the foam surround, but that doesn't even count.

I have One 12 W3d2 in a sealed Qlogic box powered by a Power RF 200W and it hits hard, hard enough for me. I have a 98 acura CL so space was limited and obviously is the money. I have it wired in parallel using both coils and it will vibrate my seats, tear my review mirror up, and rattle the hell out of my trunk. The only problem is I can hear my trunk rattle and the deck which hold my 6x9's rattle, but when it turn it up i can hear nuttin but bass. So it all matters on what you want, if your on a tight budget, u can go with what i did but if you got money and wanna spend it, GO WITH JL AUDIO. If you wire correctly and put it in the right enclosure, you wont be dissapointed.

Strength:

Sounds good and Loud

Weakness:

the POS blows up every other week.

Well, let me see, I got this sub for christmas from Myer-Emco, Paid 350.00 for it. It's the ProWedge Pre-built box from JL-with the 12w3 in it. Had the sub for 9 months, Blown it twice, actually been able to listen to it for maybe two months. The sub punds harder than that beta or kenwood ever did, but it only does it for a bout a week then it @#(&* blows up. Oh, did I mention that it takes at least 10 weeks for JL to ever get the #@$%%# back to me!! If that's not quality Customer Service then I don't know what is. I just Blew it again, fu@$ it, Im ordering two AudioBahn AW1200's for 79.00 a piece. Im sure they'll put the JL to shame.

Strength:

Quality of sound at dangerously high power.

Weakness:

Center piece fell off once, but made no change in sound, I glued it back on.

For heart-pounding bass, these bad boys do the job! Don't be fooled by other woofers claiming better power handling, JL was pretty much joking when they said 250 watt max. Now, I'm pushing two W3 D6's with a rockford 1000a2 (bridged at roughly 1200 watts) and let me tell you, these babies handle pretty damn good for almost 3 times their alleged max load. I drive a cadillac eldorado, which is not a small car. I usually don't turn the gain up at all, and usually put the bass control on my pioneer 9200R deck to about -3. Pants vibrate, dashboard screws fly off, ear drums rattle, and mirrors... Ok, anybody can get their rearview mirror to vibrate, so saying that I can't see ANYTHING out of mine isn't a big deal. But when the side mirrors vibrate almost as violently, or when the car in front of you has similar problems with rear view and side mirrors, it says something. I have never turned the gain all the way up with the bass setting high on the deck for the simple reason that I'm putting quite a bit of power through these woofers. I'm gonna wait to get my third 12 to do some damage.

Started with 2 pioneer 8 inch immps, in seperate ported truck boxes.
Then got 2 kenwood 10's in a dual bandpass box firing upward.
Now on the road with my JL's, I'll compare it to any piece of crap the guy next to me is pushing (Sony, Pioneer, Rockford, Kicker, they all take a back seat)

Well I got these things a while ago and they seem to get better with age! Originally they were only hooked up to a Kenwood amp. Now a HCCA Orion
pushes them and they SLAM!

Model Reviewed: 2000/3 jl audio 12 w3's in a sealed enclosure

Strength:

vrc technology, decent price for performance, come in 2,4, and 6ohms, high sensitivity rating, woofer has a good combination of sq/spl

Weakness:

foam surrounds

i currently have 3 jl audio 12w3's in a sealed enclosure with each chamber at 1.0 cubic ft. after sub displacement.

this subs are highly sensitive to power and can get how ever you want them to sound..they sound great in bandpass, sealed, or ported enclosures if you built them to the right t/s parameters. my setup is aimed towards a combination of both sq/spl. having 3 jl audio 12w3's has given me more headroom on volume control and tonal quality of bass.

Strength:

Can handle a wide range of power, and always worked great. These subs are played loud a great deal, they have never given me any problems.

Weakness:

There are a few things I would change, but not worth mentioning due to the fact the things I would change haven't shown to be a problem

I have 3 JL 12w3 D6's ran in series for a 4ohm mono load. These subs are sadistic. They have given me a new challenge in car audio. I always wanted massive air movement, I guess I wanted to feel the music. Well I more then happy with these subs. But the problem is getting the highs/mids to get over them. I had 62.1i kappas which are getting, a Alpine F307 bridged to 2ch, and it isn't near enough. I'm shocked that I now have a car that I wouldn't be a bit worried about entering a comp and doing pretty good.

For some information on the amps I have used with these subs (Not in order)
Also, these are the manufactures power ratings, I think some are lower, and some maybe higher.

Hifonics Z600 (600x1 @ 4ohms @ 14.4)
Mmats D200 (600x1 @ 2ohms @ 14.4)(Subs were wired for a 1ohm load)
Coustic 600SE (600x1 @ 4ohms @ 14.4)(This is my current amp)
Orion XTR2250 (1000x1 @ 4ohms @ 14.4)

My Current System:
Head Unit - Kenwood KDC6011
Highs/Mids - (1) Pair Polk DX6s (A new experiment)
Highs/Mids Amp - Alpine v12 F307
Subs - (3) JL 12w3s D6
Sub amp - Coustic 600SE (Great amp)
Sub Box - 1.25 cubic ft per sub (MDF)
Battery - Optima Yellow Cap

(2g Wire to a distro that breaks it to 1 8g and 1 4g)

Thank for reading and I hope this helps someone out. This is my experience with the product. This is what I put them through, some people may have bad experience or better ones. I just wanted to let everyone know I am speaking solely for myself. One more thing forgive the typos I am rushing to get this done in a break at work.

NOTE: All of these comparisons are for SPL not SQ. If I am able to edit this I will post the system configurations for these subs. To give a clear idea of what to expect. I haven't compared them to any other 3 sub setups because I have not seen any at our local DB scene in awhile.

Strength:

Only requires a small enclosure to perform optimally. Best buy for quality and performance.

Weakness:

What can I say... these subs are the best. You get what you pay for, and more. I have two 10w3 in a Q-logic type one enclosure. These subs are powered by a Fostgate 500w amp. Even at full BLAST, these subs performed beyond expectations, even the audio-dealer was impressed. The bass that eminates is very potent and clear with a good base range. Sounded better than the person next to me with a pair of Fostgate 15s (RFZ2815) running with the same amp.

Great sound quality moves TONS of air!

Weakness:

I had this one problem with these subs its kinda wierd..The more i turned them up THE CLEARER they got!
Also they push super low notes but dont seem to really hit as hard as they could but its probly my amps falt. the power light dims in sync with the bass im getting a capacitor to hopefully solve this.

These subs are insane. When I got my 2 15" subs in a sealed box I first figured they would push low notes but these are insane! Now because of these subs Im going to have to spend a fortune on dynamat because my car cant handle these..EVERYTHING rattles! (Including your head) I compared these to MTX 12" Blue thunder's (so called 1000 watts a piece) hooked up to a fosgate 800.2 amp and they werent even a comparison. These subs kick a$$ and im glad I chose these over HE2's i doubt they could perform this well!
