Awesome SQ, Small sealed enclosure sub, Poly cone, Handles ~500wrms so it is underrated. Was once the best SQ+ driver out there, the W7 took its place but the W6 is great for the money. | Patios Weakness:

the out put is bottom class! Hey its us at DTPAUDIO we have several of these woofers. Let me start of by saying that JL is a nice upper class name for a company that makes moderate sub's Whats the deal with you gys and waisting rediculouse amonts of money for half way their speakers? we regreat nuying not one not to but to meny they were a was of money. For the JL enthusiest out there you havent heard good bass until you hear the CERWIN VEGA STROKER! cerwin vega puts out more bas with half the amount of speakers that JL does! none I got 3 Jl Audio 12w6's powered by a 1000/1 JL amp and let em tell ya they hit hard as hell!!!!!!! all my friends say they can hear me comin before I get there,and my neihbor has done called the cops twice and b!tchen about loud music......lol..... i got the subs in a custum sealed box with seperate chambers and a friend of mine has a 12w7 and my 3 w6's out nock his system by a long shot!!!!!!! SOUND QUALITY IS VERY VERY GOOD THE WAY THEY MOVE
Weakness:
SPEAKER TERMINALS ARE TOTALLY CRAP!! I have heard many subs, Rockford Powers , Pioneer,Alpines, SPL Dynamics, Earth Quakes, Kickers, Kenwoods,Eminence and many More. But I bought 4x12w6's simply because I liked the way the sounded. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking those other brands. These JL SUBS DROP VERY VERY LOW!! I should of bought 4x15's W6'S instead of 12w6's i regret it now , I do not have them installed in a car but in my house as a house ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM PORTED !! SOME OF MY FRIENDS ARE LOVING IT SOME THINK I'VE GONE MAD.. IF YOU HAVE THESE SUBS MAKE SURE YOU PUT THEM IN A PORTED ENCLOSURE TO GET THE BEST OUT OF THEM!! I AM ONLY JUST PLAYING WITH THEM AT HOME Similar Products Used: I HAVEN'T USED ANYTHING YET BUT I AM GETTING THE DD!!!!!! |

Knoc too hard. Make my whole car shake Three 12w6's JL audio are beasts. They knoc hard. For aanyone who have them, pump eminem and dre say what you say and tell me how it feels. Bet you feel it in your heartbeat. I'm running the subs off a rockford fosgate 1000.2 amp. Similar Products Used: None can compare except for the JLw7's |

loud, good sq, better sq than w3, but not as much spl, reliable

price these subs are sweet. they can angry loud and so really nice doing it. even at low volumes you can feel the bass. they are very comparable to my eclipse aluminums sq wise, not as loud as the eclipse but its a great woofer forsure. Highly reccommend it. they only thing is they are still pricey even after a few years of being on the market. theres better woofers for less, but its a jl and that itself says a lot Similar Products Used: everything |

Awesome SQ, Small sealed enclosure sub, Poly cone, Handles ~500wrms so it is underrated. Was once the best SQ+ driver out there, the W7 took its place but the W6 is great for the money.
Weakness:
Inefficient Had a pair of these sealed running off a LP 2.2hv at 6ohm.. rougly about 200watts each to them so they were underpowered. The JL's sound great from 60hz down to 20. Complete perfection on musicality. Some people don't like the timbre of a poly (plastic) coned woofer but I really enjoy it. Boomy woofers like RF and Orion just don't represent the true music. Similar Products Used: Crystal CMP12's had more spl and just as good SQ.. not quite the 30hz down range though. W6 is still a great product after how many years? |
