Great price, Great quality, Lettering lights up wicked with the black light in my box. Crisp, clear and on time bass!
Weakness:
Bad rep...maybe I got a good batch, who knows! I don't know what all these people are talking about, saying these subs blow easy. If you're an idiot and try putting 300RMS to a 125RMS sub yeah, it's gunna blow! I have been running 2 of these subs in a bandpass box for over 2years now and they are GREAT! I have had to replace 12" Rockford Punch's from my other car that is powered by the same amp...3 TIMES! These JL's are great, it's all in how you use it. Strength:
*Good sound quality *Great price *Lightweight
Weakness:
They don't last long (except my dad's) *They tend to sound muddy when pushed hard *The have foam surrounds *They have that typical fragile dust cap The first time I heard the W0 series was back in 1998 in my friends 1994 Honda Accord EX. He had two 12W0 in a Powerwedge enclosure powered by an Earthquake 700 watt amp; I don't remember the model. Anyway, you could hear him from very far away and the bass made my wooden house shake like crazy. Inside the car, you couldn't feel the pressure but outside it was very loud. I knew that the W0 was the entry-level model but I didn't know they hit that hard. Anyway, in 2002 I bought 2 10W0 with hex individual enclosures for my 73 year old father's 1986 Toyota Tercel station wagon. He loves them, even though he hates loud bass. He only likes musical deep bass, and the 10W0 provide him with enough of it. Everytime I go back home (I'm in the Army), I hook them to my Kicker XS50 in my 1994 Toyota Celica ST turbo and they sound very, very loud and clear. I think they came from a good batch, because everybody I know that has W0 series says that they don't last long or that they blow easy. The ones in my friend's Accord lasted 11 months before they died. Then he got two 12" MTX 6000 and installed them in the Powerwerdge enclosure, but they don't compare to the 12W0. I crank those 10W0 for a long time and so far everything is ok. I highly recommend them for people on a budget. They can play very loud if you combine them with a good amp and enclosure. Similar Products Used: *Xtant X410 10" (they POUND, scary loud and deep) *JBL Loud and Clear 10" (very clear, not too loud or deep bass) *Kicker CompVR 10" (believe it or not, they CAN sound very loud and deep if set-up properly) |

SUBS GOOD AT LOW LEVEL, CHEAP
Weakness:
WHEN YOU TURN UP YOUR STEREO, THE SUBS DISTORTED, AND IT IS NOT CLEAR AT ALL i GOT THESE SPEAKERS FROM THE GETTOEST STORE THAT TOOK FOREVER TO GET THEM.... THEY DID COST CHEAP BUT THE QUALITY IS NOT EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE.... FOR THE PRICE PAYED THEY DO HIT BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT SUBS, GET SOMETHING THAT TAKES MORE WATTS AND WILL HIT HARDER... IF YOU DO THAT YOU WONT WANT TO UPGRADE LATER Similar Products Used: BASSICALLY EVERYTHING |

Very very smooth and crisp bass, loud but actually very clear.

None so far The best subs i have ever ome across, i have used Audiobahn's, JBL's, Crunch and some other brands that i can borrow from time to time at my friend's store, but these are absolutely amazing, i will not trade these for anything, the name JL stands behind the quality of sound. Looks ok, does not sound bad when it is working.
Weakness:
Can't handle too much power, poor termainals, die too easily. Did not like this sub at all. It went pop not too long after I got it. I was only using a Kicker 402 amp. Similar Products Used: 10" MTX Thunder (4000 & 6000), 10" Cerwin Vega, 10" Pioneers, 10" Clarions, 12" Kickers |

accurate very affordable dont need a huge amp for impressive bass.
Weakness:
thin foam surround i am no newcommer when it comes to car audio and i am sure that the w/o is the best bang for the buck i have used larger more expensive subs such as alpine 12s audiobahn 10s kicker 15s pioneer freeair 12s orion 12s coustic 12s solo baric 12s just to name some and these sound as good as all of them and they were tons cheaper i run them off a orion cs500.5 amp a 5 channel amp still pushes these like a mono sub amp their accurate and never sound muffled like other subs. they hit hard and sound great...mine are at least 3 or 4 years old so they can hold up. They past through 4 people before me and still look and sound great
Weakness:
they cork around the outside are not attatched to good so be careful with them I have got these four subs in 2 bandpass boxes with a 800x4 power acoustik amp in the extended cab part of my 91' F-250. My friends are amazed by them and one actually wanted to trade me for 2 lanzar 12s. I can rattle my neighbor's windows 75 yards away. Soon to come is a 750x2 bazooka amp to help out on power and sealed hatchback boxes for a different sound in bass. These speakers are already bad a$$, they hit hard enough that it can make your chest hurt. It makes my neighbor's eyes "jump" whenever he sat in my truck. I would go with these over top of anything else. They are a real attention getter. I can be heard coming from up to 2 blocks away. Go with these before anything else. Great sub!
Weakness:
none that i can think of. I have a pair of 10w0''s in a sealed powerwedge box made by JL, with 240W continuous going to them. They hit harder than many 12s Ive heard and more expensive 10''s of other brands. I was lucky enough to get these as the result of an insurance settlement and now Ill probly never use anything but JL audio for my subs. They sound great and have faithfully done everything I ask of them the whole time. Similar Products Used: Coustic 240 amp and infininty amp. |

Strength:
Great power handling, accurate, quick, not boomy, smooth.
Weakness:
none that I know of. I''m more of a home theater enthusiast than car audio, but I messed around with some mobile audio in high school. After I got my first JL speakers I knew I would never buy anything else. These speakers are built with the upmost quality. A few months ago I decided to upgrade the stock stereo in my explorer. I got 2 10W0s in a PowerWedge box, made by JL. They''re wired in parallel to for an overall impedance of 4 Ohms. Their recommended power is 250W, but that is a very low-ball figure. I''ve got 450W RMS running through these puppies and there is no stress in them at all. I have an Acoustic Research powered 12'' sub for my home theater set up and these JLs can hit as low and harder than the AR sub. For a ten inch sub these guys have incredible depth. They''re very quick and accurate as well. The bass you get from these speakers is not boomy at all, it''s very fluid and accurate. I listen to all kinds of music, from classical to rap, and I''m impressed with range these speakers exhibit. The bass in the rap songs rattles yor gut and the classical bass tones play very smoothly and accurately. If you''re looking around for subs, make sure you go to your local JL retailer and listen to some of these. The W0 is at the lower end of the JL line and they sound much better than most high end subs from other companies. Once you buy JL, you''ll never buy anything else. Strength:
Punchy, smooth, audiophile quality bass. Plenty of SPL for the average listener.
Weakness:
None that I can tell. This is my first car audio subwoofer, but I''m no stranger to speakers, being both and musician and a home theater buff. This speaker is by far the most impressive 10" speaker I''ve ever used. The volume of my listening area is quite small (small truck cab), and this sub absolutely fills it with clean tight bass! I''m sure a lot of this has to do with using a JL sealed enclosure as well, but the sound is exactly the way I like my bass: punchy but not boomy, loud enough to hit your gut, and very smooth sounding. I''m running the sub off one 50W channel of my Soundstream D100 amp, and even that is plenty of power. I have no doubt it can handle much more though! I don''t think you could go wrong with this speaker. I highly recommend using the JL powerwedge as well for best results Similar Products Used: Yamaha |
