Strength:
nice bass for lower wattage
Weakness:
distorts at higher wattage and higher volume Very good quality for a low budget. It does kind of distort easily with higher wattate. I would say it runs best at about 150 watts rms. It hits hard and has long low notes. Nothing bad about it except when at higher volume levels I could hear the voicecoil rubbing/bottoming out (distorting). Strength:
clear good overall sound, goes lower if u put it in the right box.
Weakness:
doesnt go too low i saw this on ebay for pretty cheap so i grabbed it. I hooked it up on a cheap pyramid 500 watt amp (12db bass boost) with my kicker comp vr 10(i know u shouldn''t mix subs but anyway) its a great sub and all for low cost but my kicker outpounds it badly when i have the voice coils hooked up in parallel. Its a loud sub and all just cant take the lower sounds that my kicker can. Still a good sub. Put it in a ported box with some polyfil and the lower frequencies get better. Good sub overall but just not what i''m looking for. Similar Products Used: kicker, pyramid, pioneer, alpine, rockford |

Strength:
Great speaker for the price. I''ve seen them online for about $35 a peice (competitiondirect.com) and that''s an awesome deal. They sound great and hit hard.
Weakness:
Doesnt hit as hard you raise the volume pretty high. I dont know if that is my amp or the sub. Great starter sub. Hits hard. I am very please. I was very skeptical when buying a $50 sub but I needed one fast since my other one got a hole punch through it by something in my trunk. I decided to go with JBL because I love JBL speakers. Every speaker I own is a JBL. These greatly outweighed my expectations. The price I listed was for two. I got 2 for $99. Similar Products Used: Pioneer, Audiovox |

Strength:
These subs are excellent for the price. Sound good above 45Hz.
Weakness:
Bassheads-do not buy these subs. Very low frequency resp. is virtually nonexistant. Not bad for the price but dB dragsters and serious audiophiles will not be pleased. However, these are some of the best entry level subs I''ve seen- for $50 a piece they hit hard. Similar Products Used: MTX Thunders hit way lower, harder pioneers are a joke, both MTX&JBL blew them away, Audiobahns better than all of the above, RF also impressive |

Strength:
good price, sound good in car, don't need expensive/powerful amp to power, best in a bandpass box thats built to specifications.
Weakness:
not the loudest or the best thump, power handling drops dramatically in vented boxes, and i've heard of the dust cones popping off, only entry level I bought them from a friend for very cheap. They sound very good inside the car but not that good outside. I am rating these subs because I would recommend them to others and believe that they were a great deal. Similar Products Used: sounds just as good as mtx 3000 or 5000 in car, but mtx's blow the jbl's out of the water outside of the car |

Strength:
Price, decent sound
Weakness:
Low power handling I paid 100 dollars for my pair of 12's at Circuit City, and to be honest, I really wasn't expecting anywhere near the performance I got from them. I'm not saying they pound extremely hard, or play extremely loud, because they don't. However, These subs offer surprisingly good sound when installed and powered properly. Also, they offer features not commonly found in budget subs, like the rubber surround, and polypropeline cone. Overall, These subs are great if you have an amp that runs around 100-150 watts R.M.S., and need some cheap(pricewise) subs for it. Strength:
it's cheap, it plays and it has a rubber surround and it takes very little power to make it pound
Weakness:
can't take much power at all and the dust cap came off after about 3 weeks Was my first sub when i started my system got it for $50 from a Circuit City buy one get one free deal, sold the othre one to a friend. Ran it off a cheap pyramid 400 watt amp, actually more like 300 watts. The sub sounded pretty good in a sealed box. Didn't play very load and distored at higher end volumes. Also the damn dust cap came off within 3 weeks so it that pissed me off. Since upgraded to, two Kicker XPL's powered by an infinity kappa 202A amp, a much better set up Similar Products Used: Kicker XPL 12", i have 2 now |

Strength:
Good price for name like JBL. Very good sound quality if used
Weakness:
None Paid 49.99 each from Crutchfield. I would recommend these subs to Similar Products Used: Sounds comparable to RS10a bazooka when the JBL is in a sealed box. |

Strength:
I got it for 40 bucks...
Weakness:
IT doesn't do low bass. It will not shake the panneling loose in your car, and is not good if your looking for a sub to show off with. Doesn't sound too bad and plays resonably loud. Powered with a 150 watt rms amp i haven't been able to blow it yet, but i'm working on it. they suck so bad there are just absolute junk. i have seen 6x9s hit harder than these piles of junk so no by these i would not recommend these to anyone . the only thing that i would recommend is that you dont buy them Similar Products Used: the bass compares to a pair of head phones |
