Strength:

The strength of these subs lies in a well-tuned ported box. I've had them in a ported box tuned exactly to 33hz and it sounded awesome.

Weakness:

The weakness of this sub is to perform in a sealed box. I bought a new car and had to put the subs in a sealed box so they would fit in my trunk and they're really sound crappy.

I really like aura. I have 3 of their force 12 subs in my car and a set of their components in my doors. Ive really been impressed with their products.

Aura, one of the best speaker makers in the world. Have installed many Aura subs in houses and cars. The force line Was Auras low end line. Still high end for the car industry, even though they are about 7 years old. Take it from a Pro Audio Installer.

Strength:

Looks, frame strength, rubber surround,

Weakness:

weak wires running from connectors to coil were slowly eroded by rubbing on the frame and mine broke but were repaired with wire crimps and it still hits hard, never hits as hard as i'd like

i have my aura 12 's in a big ported box with 900watts in a hatch back and they do alright. But before that they were in a band pass with 300 watts running them and i thought they performed much better in the band pass even though im pretty sure they are designed for a sealed box.

Strength:

Strong and loud...at least more than half of the hood will hear u comin down the street.

Weakness:

They sound decent but are not over powering. They would sound really messed up when i turned up the amp. NOt good power handlers.

These were my first subs and they were hittin hard. Everyone would compliment my soundz. I had to Aura force 12's running off a 800watt gravity amp from Califas. They sounded clean and loud but only if u hook up a crossover. TAht's the main thing u need with these subs.

I purchased one Aura Force 10" subwoofer off ubid (kinda like ebay) for $24 about a year ago. I first used it in my room as a subwoofer and then installed it into my ''99 audi A4. i have to say that this is the best $24 i could ever spend. This is not a large subwoofer, nor does it require much power, but it sounds excellent. It delivers rich, full bass with almost no distortion. I have friends with systems in their cars, most with two twelves, and i have to say that i think mine sounds better. My friend has two Solo-Baric Kicker rectangular subs, and they''re great speakers and all, but when they get really loud they''re just noise, not really notes or music or anything, just loud deep noise. this sub is very clear and hits every note accurately and perfectly. I am extremely pleased with mine, and I reccomend these subs to anyone looking for great, clear music, however if you just want loud, monotonal noise, get something else

Model Reviewed: 98, Aura Force 10

Strength:

SQ,appearance,..tight,accurate bass.

Weakness:

It's not an SPL monster...which is OK in my book.

I own an Aura Force 10....not the Force 12. I have it installed in the spare tire well of my 98" Honda CRV. To be honest, I'm a big Aura fan... I have Aura MR6.1 comps in front and Aura MR62's(Integrated comps) in the rear. Aura is a sleeper in the industry. Their gear always rates very well in the car audio mags.

BTW, I'm a little skeptical of the previous review. A foam surround?! My Aura Force 10 has a rubber surround...not foam. I'm almost positive that all of the Aura Force subs have a rubber surround. The Aura Force 10 and 12 subs have always received glowing reviews in the magazines and are rated as great values.

Also, Aura's professional subs have been used for years by many of today's biggest rock acts. Aura makes quality gear..don't believe everything you read on this board.

Strength:

Looks, cast basket, sound quality

Weakness:

output ability

Paid $100 each for them on ebay.

I bought a pair of these based on hot reviews by CarSound and Car Stereo Review magazines, and I was a little disappointed. They are not bad subs, they just did not sound as good as I expected and output ability was a bit disappointing. Sound quality was quite good, except when the subs were overdriven, during which it made ugly noises. I had them in 1.1 cf each sealed box. Also, the dust cap is kinda cheasy - they dent pretty easy - though I really shouldn't be pushing them anyway. I personally like the Avalon subs that I am using right now. They can be bought dirt cheap on ebay, they have amazing excursion capabilities and sound quality is also excellent. Only one problem with the Avalons - their quality control needs improvement, possibly due to the fact that they are a small new company? 2 of them had to be exchanged because the voice coil was not centered, thus limiting usable Xmax, causing the coil to overload prematurely and make buzzing noises. Other that this, the Avalon LE subs are in my opinion the best value subs made today.

I puchased 2 Aura Force 12's recently, and I have to say they sound outstanding. There are in a ported box tuned to 34 Hz, and they literally take your breath away. These subs can definetely handle some power since I have a SoundStream Reference 705 pushing about 400 watts each to them. I have compared them to anything that AlumaPro has, and I have to say they are far superior to anything they have in the market today. I formerly had 3 Rockford Fosgate 10'" punchs that couldn't even come close to these two twelves. These subs are by some of the best subs you can buy for the money. Of course there are better subs on hte market, but they cost at least twice as much.

I had a pair of them, they were better than comparably priced subs. Depth was alright, overall sound was quite good, low frequency output left a lot to be desired. I switched to Kappa Perfects, and good as the auras were, they couldn't even compare to the perfects.
