Strength:
flat response down to 20hz, sound quality, XMAX, power handling, x-series durability, spl
Weakness:
the sub doesnt hit notes 80hz and higher very well. Previous versions before the x-series had no vents for the voice coil and would overheat and melt the coil into the magnet. I have 2 of these subs hooked up in my 96 Integra GSR and they are bad. I have tried differend enclosures and it seems they are a whole lot louder in ported boxes its just they handle less power in a larger sealed or ported box. But the rating on the sub is with the sub in a .75cu.ft. sealed box so the larger the box the less power it is going to handle. They still handle a whole lot of power no matter what people say. If you have a home theater and need a sub I would recommend this sub for that as well. I have 1 sub in my room with 250watts running it and it is louder and clearer than the 2 in my car with 600watts running to each. For movies with thunder and explosions your butt and back get a massage on my leather couch. Keep in mind that my room is huge 24'x18' so normally in a theater that big you would need a couple of 12's with a good size amp. Durability, sound quality, makes my trunk choke with bass..
Weakness:
Does not play high notes very well....hahaha...sounds like it wants to blow the cone off the rubber! I love the sound of these....i have 3 of the 12"alum in a custom box in my truck and i do not think that i have heard anything hit harder in my life. My friend has 3 15" Fosgates and he cant even come close to the lows that i can hit. I definately recommend this sub for any car!!! Similar Products Used: nothing else comes close |

Strength:
looks like god handcrafted it... really nice sq, spl was decent, but one could expect a lil more spl from 900 watts of raw power running through it...
Weakness:
i don't want to say durability, because my friend could have butchered the spider... but if anything that would be it... I ran it on an RF Punch 800.2 for 2 months after letting it collect dust for about 3... sounded orgasmal for 1 12 honestly... that was in my friend's car though, since mine was in the shop and i was anxious to hear it basically... so I get my car back, my friend's done god knows what to it but the speaker had beat itself out of the sealed box it was in... I hook it up according to the manual, with the gain on the amp down, 4 guage wiring, in a new bandpass box, flip the keys, and that smell of agony comes... you know... the one that comes as your gorgeous 12 annihalates itself... Huge bass. Nice sound quality for rap or just a kick pedel on rock.
Weakness:
Take a high wattage amp to run them. These are by far the best sub for the money out on the market. I have dB draged my integra with a pair of 12's and hit 149.6 dB. That was my first dB drag and I got second. I am very happy with the subs. I have had them for over a year (almost 2) and have had no problems. |

I can use it to carry water from the river to mu shanty in the Iraqi slums.
Weakness:
It really, really sucks as a subwoofer, but good as a water basket When I bought this sub, I thought the price i was paying would guarantee me a good deal. WELL I WAS WRONG! The $1 I paid for this sub was clearly 100 times too much as this sub really sucks bad! Similar Products Used: none |

They can handle alot of watts being put into them. They deliver good hard bass with the fast bass too.
Weakness:
none This sub is one of the best subs I have used in a while. I am a big audiobahn fan and I will always use their products. I have 1600 watts goin into each of my 2 subs and they pound! I have never hear of dual 6 ohm subs hit like these do. I drove past this pool hall I play in and they told me I shook the windows. By far these subs are good subs to purchase Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Smooth low bass, nice chrome back, DVC
Weakness:
Durability, but it may just be a defect in mine. It doesn't fit prefab sizes without some cutting on the hole..just a little bigger. I bought this sub when ALUM12's first came out and tried it once to see how it sounded about a year ago. I thought it sounded really nice and planned on purchasing another one and a bigger amp. Well, it sat in my closet in it's wooden box for awhile until I recently purchased a JBL BP1200.1. I installed the amp with 2 gauge power and ground, used a digital 1 farad Audiobahn power cap, and ran 10 gauge speaker leads into the sealed enclosure for the sub. Set the gains so it wasn't too much, kept the bass boost about halfway. In my garage it was shaking the whole house and sounded really good. Then 2 days later as I was cruisin with my new system the bass just stopped..then the smell.. I checked it out and there was smoke coming out of the speaker. I removed it and it was so hot I couldn't touch the magnet for about an hour. I noticed the speaker leads on the spider look burned and it still omits a bad smell. I had such high hopes for it. But as a coincidence, the same day a friend had a brand new single ALUM12Q with a lower powered amp and it hit a lot harder than mine did. I want two of them but I'm going to try just one new one first because I can't afford to waste more money. Similar Products Used: Kicker Comps, Kicker XPL,Cerwin Vega Stroker, Kenwood |

Low, accurate bass. loud, (if that's what you like) looks great with neons bouncing off the aluminum cone!
Weakness:
might rattle your overhead lamp cover off(like mine) I have had this sub for a little over 3 months now and it is something to brag about. I am running it though a sony es amp that puts out 600x2 saftly at 2ohms, but we are not here to hear about the amp. The box I have it in is too small cause I drilled out a 10 inch small sealed box and it sounds weird when you open the trunk and listen to it from back there.... but hope is on the way. I am soon to purchase another(at 128 bucks, it is a great bargin) and put them in a slightly larger, vented box. I hope to achive at least 150 dBs, but the sound quality will be there as strong as ever too. What a great sub! Similar Products Used: eclipse alluminum infinity perfect |

Did anyon eread that guy Alex from bostons review. He said these subs suck because they blew and he put 4,000 watts into each one. Of course there only 2000 peak. What a moron. |
