Strength:

VERY low distortion VERY clean sound High power handling

Weakness:

Heavy (which could be good seeing as it''s harder to steal)

I recently obtained these alpine r types and man do they rock. I was listening to them home from work and when i got home i almost threw up. I felt sick for about 2 hours, but i was happy. I have them ran parallel off of a JBL bp1200.1. And damn does it hit HARD. I thought it was gonna knock the hatch off of my 93 laser rs. I highly recomend these subs to anyone looking for hard hitting, clean sounding bass.

I have only had them for a short time but this is a definite case of love at first sight. Beautifully designed and an excellent perfomer. Have them in sealed 1 ft^3 per sub into 1ohm load to my jbl bp600.

quick response and loud as hell

Weakness:

not as low as id like when i crank them all the way so im getting 2 more.

I got two of these for $280 and put them in seperate sealed boxes with 0.949 cubic feet to each sub and 415 watts rms to each from a jbl bp1200.1 amp at 4 ohms. they are really loud and sound great, i like them so much im planning to get two more and run all 4 on my amp at 2 ohms.

Weakness:

NONE

These things rule!!! I got two of them sealed in my 2001 Jeep and I can''t even see straight when I crank them. They say they handle 300watts RMS..WRONG! I got almost 400 going into each and they take it just fine. I would suggest this product to anyone lookin for some crazy bass!!

Strength:

-mad loud in a ported box
-sexy looks both front and back (i really like the cast aluminum)
-spring terminals are a blessing straight from God when ur wiring 8 coils

Weakness:

-poor SQ in a ported box
-heavy as hell....25 pounds

I walked into the shop one day, saw these beauties, heard em, and bought em on the spot. I bought 4 of em, and had a custom ported box built to take up my entire hatch area and some of the back seat area to fit em in my 92 Laser. Anyways, I ran 1 Rockford 800a2 to them in parallel-series-parallel configuration ending up with a 4 ohm load and at least 1000 rms between em all. They quickly started demolishing my car and this is the last time I'm buying so many subs. They broke my rear view mirror off my windshield and have exposed rattles that sound when i DONT even play my stereo, have demolished most of my door and interior panel clips and im pretty damn sure its bouncing my engine or something cause i can feel something i couldnt feel a while ago through the pedals and steering wheel. I'd estimate this stereo at about 152-155 db although they destroyed the pro-built box in a few months, right before i had an oportunity to have it tested. I dunno what to say. They dont sound near as good as i thought they would, which is still good, better than my POS RF's but i guess i expected more from a SQ woofer. Im gonna try putting em in a sealed box now that i need a new one. They go surprisingly loud for SQ 12's in my opinion and ive heard a lot of stereo's. Despite the destruction to what was practically a mint condition car, the subs are pretty wicked so i'll give em a good mark.

Strength:

Good looks and awesome sub for price. Not an excellent SQ sub though, but maybe a good class AB amp can prove me wrong.....

Weakness:

Weight. I have two of them in a sealed box and the thing weighs damn near 80lbs.

Bought them to compliment my Kicker ZR360 and WHHHOOAAAA!!! These things knock!! The guy who sold 'em to me said that I needed to give the surround a little time to flex and he was right, subs sound awesome now. The Kicker isn't dumping near enough power into 'em so I'm getting a Fosgate BD1000.1.

Similar Products Used:

Fosgate HX2 12's and Kenwood DB's. I don't think the Alpine's are in the same class as these subs....Actually, it's the other way around!!
