Being used to high end home gear, shopping for a car system was quite an experience. Most of it is thin, sizzly with overblown, uncontrolled bass.
Having read some good things about MB Quart, I found a dealer that had these in a demo setup with the expensive Polks and Diamond Audio Motorsport series. There was no contest. The Diamonds were obviously superior.

I had these installed, front and rear, using Alpine's smallest 4-channel amp, and it is far better than I expected. Highs are smooth and detailed. Mids are open and clean. The bass is at least as much as you'd get from an 8" sub, and better defined than most car subs (which are really not subs, just woofers). Everyone whose heard these, from the salesmen at the dealer to the installer who put them in, is putting them in thier own cars. One saleman even bought them at full retail because they are in short supply.

If you want a car sound that's satisfying to audiophiles, these have to be heard.

Strength:

The clarity of these components are unreal. Every note can be clearly heard and drum solos are the BEST! I have heard every speaker copmponent there is and these are by far the best speaker on the market!

Weakness:

Getting them to play true mids at all frequencies takes a litle extra time. I have added an Alpine DRE-A500 in order to accomodate the frequencies I wanted. Some suggestions have bee to play at -2db or a 6db amp adjustment.

Read all the reveiws, they speak for themselves!
