Strength:
None. Weak bass, peaky, screechy mids, no high-highs. Only their "mythical" good name.
Weakness:
Schreechy mids. Bass 6 dB below mids. (no bass to speak of.) HIgh price for such a lousy speaker. After several cheap Japanese speakers, bought these after reading all the rave reviews. Have them up front with a pair of Madisound 6x9's used as subs in rear. They sounded good at first, but after a few weeks are stridently biting at mid frequencis, so much so that they hurt. I tested them with an SPL meter and test CD and there is a huge loud spikey peak at 1.2K hz a few other ups and then they fall off the planet at 10K. Similar Products Used: Plan to try Polk |

Strength:
good overall sound
Weakness:
slight lack of bass well like the other reviewers, I like these speakers overall, but the bass is a little lacking. not bad, but a little. Make up for it with a sub amp. should be cheap on Ebay. I have these in the back deck of a Lexus SC400, just driven by a JVC KD-SH707, and they sound fine.(The stock Nakamichis fried where they sat) Prolly be better with an amp, but I ain't complaining. Best 6 1/2s I heard in the store. |

Strength:
power handling capability clarity
Weakness:
power hungry not the most bass of any 6x9 i've ever heard to the user who says that the bass distorts, it's because these speakers are power hungry and (i assume) that you aren't using an amp. i was in the same situation, till i added a basic 35w x 4 alpine to feed them. no more distortion, until i hit very high levels. the bass is accurate, but not very deep (maybe more power is needed) and the highs can be sharp. would i buy them again: well, ..if i had a sub (which i do), yes, otherwise, get something with a little more midbass to round off the sound Similar Products Used: kenwood |

Strength:
nice highs decent bass good design, nice and heavy, not light like those crappy low end speakers
Weakness:
distorts at high volumes ( but i think thats my fault anyways ) i got these speakers because they were cheap, only $100 for the pair ( i bought 2 pairs for front and rear ) they are discontinued so they were on clearance. the highs are wonderful for a 2 way coax, but i am going to replace the fronts with a component set when i get the money, and it looks like i will get another set of bostons. the bass is good and clean, although when i turned the volume up, even with a little bass up on the HU, the speakers distort. its not that bad though, and i did push them, so i dont really blame the speaker, they are excellent. |

just the one with the melting plastic...hope it doesn''t make them start performing improperly I love these speakers and would definatly buy again, but as Don from Denver wrote, I have expierienced the same problem (although no audio problems) with my RX67''s in that the plastic around the tweeters have melted just above the connection tabs. I have 70 per channel amp, but am not going to overdrive these (I hate distortion) to the point of abusing them...I have been very happy with them and until I can afford another amp for a bazooka tube, the bass produced in incredible and many of my freinds dont beleive that I have no sub..... Strength:
The RX67's sound very clean. While they do not produce a huge amount of bass, the lower end is very tight and not flubby or tubby sounding. I am running these speakers off of a Soundstream 50x4 amp, and a Clarion 9375rz preamp/head unit. To further reduce distortion and resistance, I installed 14 gauge Monster Cable speaker wire and interconnects. If you are looking for earth-shaking bass, then you are better off buying a separate sub and crossover set around 70. These speakers are helpless below 50 hertz. Overall a great buy if you don't want to start cutting holes all over your car for component speakers.
Weakness:
very few weaknesses....mainly dealing with handling lower frequencies, but that is expected from a 6 1/2 coax speaker. One of the best products I ever purchased for my car. I originally intended to have 4 kappas installed in my car, but the store was out of stock, so I chose the next best thing. Strength:
Excellent clarity throughout its frequency range. Tight bass, well-defined mids and highs.
Weakness:
Nothing really. It needs an amplifier to reach high volume levels but that should be expected from any speaker of this quality. It still puts out great clear sound from an aftermarket head unit, just not a ton of volume. For now, I'm running these speakers off my Blaupunkt Skyline series receiver. I'll add an amp once I can afford one so I can get more volume. The sound is unbelievably crisp and clear, especially in the upper mids and highs. I also agree with some of the other reveiwers that these put out great bass for a 6 1/2 coaxial. More importantly, the bass is tight and well defined and not fuzzy like the Pioneer and Kenwood 6 1/2's I listened to. Rock, funk, and jazz sound exceptional on these speakers because of their clear highs and tight bass. For $150, its tough to find a better speaker in this size. I squeezed these in the front doors in my '93 Pathfinder. The 5 x7 cutouts in the back were so shallow that I could only get a pair of 5 1/4's in there. I needed some stronger speakers up front where it really counts. The RX67's were exactly what I needed and in fact exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend these speakers. Similar Products Used: Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine 6 1/2 coaxials -- no comparison to the Bostons. Eclipse and Polk come close. Only better coaxial that I've heard is the Boston RM series but for $100 more |

NONE AT ALL you simply will not find a better sounding speaker for 129 bucks... Installed properly with a good head unit and an amp (if wanted) These are the best sounding coax speakers you can get... MB QUARTS are good but WAY overrated and over priced... I have them hooked up to an eclipse amp that is 60 watts rms and they handle it fine. They are x over at 160.... Similar Products Used: pioneer 1676 6.5 . Strength:
Great Power Handling With Little To No Distortion For Coax Speaker. Smooth And Suttle Highs. Great Imaging If Installed Properly.
Weakness:
Mids, Although Above Average For A Coax, Are A Little Rough At Higher Power Levels. When Listening To Music With A High Dynamic Range, Mids Sound A Little Harsh And Mids And Highs Start To Blend Together, But Not BAD. I Read Through Some Of The Reviews On This Particular Product, And Suprisingly More Then 1 Person Has Said That These Speakers Can Not Handle That Much Power And Distort With An Amp. First I Ran The RX67's Of A Pioneer DEHp8200R Headunit Crossed Over At 50hz. They Played Great Especially Of A Headunit. Currently I Have I MTX Thunder302 2 Channel Amp Rated At 112 Watts RMS /channel With 12 Volts Of Power, Pushing The Boston RX67's. The Speakers Do Not Distort At High Volumes, When Crossed Over At 80hz. They Handle Plenty Of Power And Distort Little To None. I Have Found That With Music That Has A High Dynamic Range The Mids And Highs Do Tend To Blend Together A Little At High Power. One Other Note. These Speakers Put Out An Amazing Amount Of Bass For A Coax. I Tested These Speakers For Multiple Hours In One Sitting With Different Types Of Music And Found The Bass And Highs Were Its Strong Points. For The Other Users Who Put Reviews In And Are Not Getting Any Bass. Take A Second Look At Your Location Of Install And Quality Of Install. These Do Put Out A Substantial Amount Of Bass FOR A COAX 6 1/2. Would Definetly Recommend To Any Looking For Great Sound And Doesn't Want To Go With Separates.
