Strength:
big magnet structure which is protected from moisture by a rubber cover. quality drivers
Weakness:
you need to crank some serious power (cd decks just wont do it, even 50x4) to light em up proper. I''ve got an older pair of kappas in my car, about 1000 hours on em. they''re hooked up to a class D amp putting out 100 watts RMS with 0.005% distortion (not a fake figure, the amp cost 500$) i dont think very many people have experienced pure, undistorted sound at such a volume level that is present in the set up i have. go out and get a class D or vacuum tube amp, then you''ll know the true capability of these speakers. Its ability to "fool" others that quickly become satisfied with it.
Weakness:
Distorted sound, distorted bass, distorted treble. Hurts ears, and made in Taiwan! The woofers are flaky and the so-called glass-tweeters are only marketing sttgy. No hope . I don't understand why so many positive reviews have been posted on this products. It is as terrible as it could gets. May be I got the refurbished ones, but it didn't say so. The speakers distorted badly, even I put my amp gains to minimum. The treble is good, but not to sound quality. It is loud and the hisses hurts ears. The bass doesn't kick anything. I powered it with MTX RT4240, the 692.1l and the 62.1i I have in front just distorted badly and after 2months it finally quits. The sound is no longer audible, but the tweeter still loud. Still hurts your ears. Far from clean and crisp sound. It is good if you want to show off on the street, but terrible if you're looking for sound enjoyment inside the car. Awesome tweeters, clear highs and acurate lows,no recognisable distortion when set up right. Little expensive but highly recommend buying them at online stores cause i have seen them for under 145$ which was the price i bought them at.
Weakness:
Bass seems to distort when cranked up as of all 6x9's but doesn’t matter if you have subs because you can turn the head units bass down and the amp to the subs up. Over all these speakers are great if you are lookin for something that pounds with or without an amp. I have a Sony Xplod CD player with 50x4 output power. This is one of the highest output powers i have seen. Like I said these aren't hooked up to an amp and still sound awesome. The tweeter in these are incredible. Everything is so clear down low or when you crank it all the way up. There is no distortion at all in the tweeter or midrange on these. The base is clear and sounds really good up to a certain point. Once you get up to that point then you start to hear some distortion as with any 6x9. The key thing to do with these speakers as of any is to have them enclosed right. To enclose them right they need to be sealed tight with no air getting out at all. I made custom enclosures for both of these so that they fit right in my car and i have them sealed good. Having them sealed and enclosed good is key for bass quality. These speakers have won many awards for their sound quality and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for some serious sound quality. From personal experience, what I did, since i now have subs is to take your head unit and crank the base almost all the way down and then crank the bass up on you amp so the subs can pound and when u crank everything up it sounds awesome and there is no distortion yet awesome bass getting put out with your subs. The highs are excellent. Hhe highs are crisp and about as clear as you can get in a car speaker. The midrange is clean and the bass is excellent when driven by a high quality amp. My Fosgate 250a2 pushes them hard. Several people have asked what kind of subs I have while the 693.1's are the only speakers I have hooked up in the 85 dodge caravan. The speakers do not distort unless you drive them far over their specified wattage. You will be satisfied with this speaker.
Weakness:
The 693.1 come with no directions on how to put together the complicated mounting system and the grilles are often hard to put back on. List price:$250 Similar Products Used: The 693.1 sound far better than the competition, especialy if you find them for $180 as i did. |

none these speakers sound great got them for 150 would do it again. Thought Bostons were very good but way too much money, Alpine dds is very nice but the kappas sounded as good as both of those for less money. Similar Products Used: alpine dds speakers very nice more expensive |

Excellent Mids and highs, with super-excellent high end extension thanks to the EMIT super tweeters. The ceramic mid woofer carries incredible detail with voices at every frequency range. Woofers are strong and durable, excelletn punch if you don't have subs. You can scream these speakers all day long and they'll take the power well.
Weakness:
I could have gotten them cheaper if I looked around, but I'd still pay the price for these all over again. Requires a rather beefy amp to run them well, although they still will performm ok off a high-powered head unit. Overall the nicest 6*9 I've ever used, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. for about 200 if you look around, you can have speaketrs that radiate crystal clarity regardless of music type, handle torrents of power for their size and punch hard. Buy em. Similar Products Used: None |

Weakness:
A little lacking on the bass side at high volumes Ive had these speakers for a long time and i had them hooked up to just my reciever and it sounded good. But when i hooked up a rockford 250.a2 to these speakers, what an amazing change!! They sound really really good. Crisp and clear, and no shrills on the high end at loud volumes. IM pretty impressed with them. i only paid 120 for them. This is a great buy if you can get them for 120 or less. If you buy these speakers, i recomend hooking an amp up to them for maximum preformance. Similar Products Used: pioneer, cerwin-vega, |

Incredibly clean speaker. Exceptionally accurate. Highs and mids are top notch. Detail is incredible.
Weakness:
Bass response leaves something to be desired (and I've got 60watts of PPI power going to these). It's not bad enough to be a weakness, just not strong point. Overall one hell of a speaker. Sounds awesome and looks cool to boot :) Similar Products Used: Kicks some seroius booty compared to all the big brand speakers I demo'd. |
