Strength:

Looks good, the volume/Eq knob is really cool, lots of good ways to control speakers that are amped or a subwoofer. I can make my 6x9's act as subs. Not many confusing buttons, i never looked in the manual to learn how to do something.

Weakness:

cant see in the sun, and no remote control "capability", and it takes to long to turn it off (you have to press power for 2 seconds)

Im happy with the cd player/reciever, looks really nice, and a good reciever if you have subwoofers or amped speakers

Strength:

Great look, good price.

Weakness:

Can't eject CD without ACC on (that could be a security feature...), you have to flip down the face to insert CD.

I only paid $220 for this, and it has been great. It doesn't skip, reads CD-R, RW, and regular CD's. It can read a scratched CD better than my other CD players, so that's a good plus. It only has one set of preouts, so you can't expand too much, but its only around $220 - $260 right?

Portable CD - Of course the Pioneer is better than plugging in a portable CD player.

Strength:

Feature packed with very good performance at a good price ($240 local), has rotary volume, 22Wrms x 4, detachable face, DFS security system, plays CD-RW and CD-r audio discs made on my Mac, has CD Titling which is good when a disc changer is connected. Unit comes with hardware for front or rear DIN mounting, Unit is not too deep so it should fit in most import dashes.

Weakness:

Controls are complicated (proof is 50-pages of operator's manual), must flip down face to insert CD, cannot eject CD without key in ACC/ON position, display hard to read when lit by sun.

This unit is a good value in CD/Receiver ($240 local) with many audio setups and good enough power to suit all but the advanced systems (only has front preouts). Rotary volume pops out for easier adjustment. Pushbutton EQ functions (low/mid/high) replace Bass/Treble knobs. Preset EQ settings (natural, flat, vocal, custom, super bass, powerful, custom) are sometimes useful but not essential. Adjusting this unit requires pushing a lot of buttons to work through multiple menus. The manual is essential. Overall, this unit performs excellently. I wish the display was easier to read in the daytime and the basic functions were easier to access. The cd titling/memory is nice when using their 12 disc changer. The fact that this unit as well as their 12-disc changer will read CD-RW and CD-R audio discs means a great way to maintain the ability to mix songs. Great features for the price but I gave it 4-stars because of the weaknesses listed above.

Strength:

Looks great, sounds great, the 45x4 MOSFET amp pumps out the needed watts

Weakness:

No Dolphins(like the DEH-P7200)

This is probably the best CD reciever for the money. I really like the built in crossover for my front and rear speakers. The subwoofer pre-out is wonderful. I have very good control of my system because of the crossover.
As for the display, I think that it is kind of pretty. The multi-color display is very attractive and easy to read. The DFS alarm is a helpful extra. Even though it is not a real car alarm it still does the job of keeping a thief from staying in your car.
Overall I think that this reciever is a great deal.

Strength:

Sub control, 2 preamp outputs, nice-looking display, easy reach of all controls, car alarm (even though i don't think it works very well, but hey, it's the thought that counts!), many more extras....

Weakness:

None that I can think of....

What can I say. This deck has everything you could expect from a $250 deck and more. It has a separate sub control, 2 preamp outputs, cd-text, and large display. I have 2 JBL 10" subs hooked up and with the SuperBass EQ on, it makes my subs sound like a competition system. Just think what it could do for a stock system. The MOSFET 45x4 amp puts out very nice and I like being able to fine tune the EQ's. There is a lot of stuff, so you basically have to read the manual to find out everything. Some options are only available when you add a changer, so read carefully (some marketing scheme, huh?). This deck is for anybody who wants the best quality for the price. Overall, very much worth the money. You won't be dissapointed with this deck.

Strength:

EEQ, Built-in alarm, Disc title, AUX input, Nice display,Plenty of power, Lots of features.

Weakness:

Maybee its just mine, but my cd's get suck sometimes.

Great Cd-Player. I have enjoyed every second of my music because of it. I used to have some $h**ty jenson that dared to call itself a CD player. My car was broken into and it was stolen, to say the least i was kinda happy, cause i ended up with my kick @$$ Pioneer DEH-P5200. If God had a CD-Player he would probably have this one.

Well there is better, but you don't need half the $h*t it already has.

Strength:

Great power, detachable face, DFS alarm, 2 sets of RCA's, easy EQ, built in crossover points at 50, 80, 125 hz, defeatable high pass setting, dimmer, port for auxillary input cable (lets me watch dvd's and play video games through my laptop over my system!), awesome radio reception, loudness settings and very handy 'po-po' button. Overall a sweet CD player.

Weakness:

I have yet to find one. However, it can be bothersome (if you are really lazy) that you have to flip down the face to put in a CD, but that allows a bigger face plate for better visibility.

I absolutely love this thing! It has enough options to choke a horse, but because you access the options through menus, the display and functionality of the player is not cluttered at all. Plays all disks (burned and purchased) without any problem. Deck has plenty of power to drive midbass and treble from aftermarket speakers while the front + rear/non-fading sub 2 volt RCA's allow lots of room to grow. Beautiful display and face and extremely easy to use seeing that you read the manual before playing with it.

Have used factory radios, an old Pioneer shaft type tape deck, and an older model low end Pioneer CD player. But, I can't really say that I am comparing these. It is like the difference between apples and oranges.
