Strength:

Easy EQ is excellent luv the sound options, plenty of crossover points luv the Alarm

Weakness:

Face comes off hard, you cant see the screen in bright light, no sub level control, EQ doesnt provide enough gain or loss

$180 i would definitly recommend this to anyone looking for a good head unit but not for an audiophile!

Strength:

The ez-eq, CD-text, remote, price, doesnt skip & reads CD-r's great

Weakness:

ATT doesnt gradually go back to normal loudness like the kenwood. Not a flip down face. ONly ten character CD-text. Cannot program Radio names ( like the JVC)

I paid $268(canadian). I love the dual RCA outputs. I havent used the front one yet though. I have 2 amps running off it. I love the FIE feature. Turns off all the treble so i can show off my 2 10's and my 15.
ALl of my friends like the EQ curve. For the money i got this one for. I couldnt of picked a better CD player.

Model Reviewed: DEH-P4100

Strength:

Style, Features, Mosfet 45WX4, Easy EQ, DFS alarm (too cool)
Remote, $$Price$$

Weakness:

Buttons are small (like all others)
Faceplate feels like it will break when you detach it

I was told by a friend to look at the P4100. He had the Sony Xplod CDX-C7000X for about two weeks and had problems with it skipping. It wasn't the installation.
I would reccomend the P4100 to those who want great sound at a good price.
I paid $229 for the unit.
I would give this unit 5 start now, but I've only had it for about..hmmm...16 hours. If this unit performs like I think it will, I'll be back to give it all 5.

Strength:

great features for the price

Weakness:

not rotary volume dial

this unit was purchased to replace a dead stock bose tape head unit in my 89 nissan maxima. i got it for $140 off ubid.com new, which is a pretty good deal for a full featured cd deck with a cool remote. the eq features are amazing and although i'm not using the dfs alarm, that's another added bonus. the power is plenty. there's outputs for an amp if you want to add a sub. the display is much more easy to read the the sony cd player i had in my old car. my only regret is not waiting (although having to pay more too) for the new 4200/5200's that have the rotary volume knobs. that's something nakamichi's have always had and i like. also, while it's not as low key as the nakamichis, i prefer it to other decks out these days...they look almost gaudy, at least for my tastes. but for the money it can't be beat!

Strength:

Very clean sound, low bass in combination with my DLS960 9X6" rear speakers. I've used it without an amp, it sounds great!

Weakness:

I think the cd-text is a bit hard to program, but I haven't had the time to figure it out :-)

Yeah! great deal, i've bought it for fl. 499,-. Not too expensive!

I used to have a sony tape/tuner with a cd-changer, also without an amp, but with the pioneer DEH-P4100R I can boost up the volume to nearly two times the Sony can handle.

Model Reviewed: 92 Subaru Sedan

Strength:

- Have not had one Skip
- Improved Sound Quality with Stock Speakers
- Powerful
- Nice Looking
- Great EQ Options
- Remote
- CD-R Support
- Built In Security System
- Price

Weakness:

- Turns off when eject CD
- Complex Controls with So So Manual
- Could have improved memory storage options
- No ATT on Face

I feel this unit is a great deal considering the features and price. I looked at several units by Pioneer and other companies and found this unit to be in my prices range and have the features I need. After the unit was installed with just my Subaru stock speakers, the sound quality that I gained was incredible. There is a much richer sound through the system. With newer speakers that unit must really kick.

When looking for a CD Play I was looking several things: price, look/ fit, and features. This unit is a great package. It fitted my need to have a good sound at a good price for an older used car however, if I was to get a new car, I would go Pioneer again. I have no major reservations about the unit and would recommend.

Final price installed was 230.00, this included the wiring and mounting parts. Was very happy with the services at Good Guys.

Strength:

Sound quality, price, clean power, EEQ and settings, remote, never skips, plays CD-R and CD-RW discs.

Weakness:

None

I picked this up on clearance at Best Buy since it is last year's model and this is the best car stereo I've ever owned. The power is robust and clean and it made my factory speakers come alive. The sound quality is outstanding and with the EEQ and multiple sound settings, you can customize the sound to whatever you like. The super thin remote control is also a nice touch as well as this unit's ability to play CD-R and CD-RW discs flawlessly. Plus it has never skipped once on me. Awesome unit for the price...
