Strength:

I enjoy the different options this unit gives me on the EQ side. This stereo really sounds great with my amp (110 watts) and my speakers (Pioneer 6X9 3-ways). I find the controls easy to manage and love the remote.

Weakness:

I have found no weaknesses with this unit in any way.

I recommend this stereo to anyone who enjoys full, rich sounds from their music. This unit provides the crystal clear highs and the deep lows that I enjoy whether the volume is low or extremely high. I will recommend this Pioneer to all who have the opportunity to listen to it. I have already been asked by several who have had the luxury of enjoying this stereo's capabilities.

I replaced my Kenwood KRC805 with this stereo and there is no comparison. The Pioneer blows my old system away.

Strength:

Multi-color display, Pioneer, actual 45wx4, Never Skipped Once, Great overall deck.

Weakness:

Remote doesnt have very far range, but who cares about that.

This is a very good quality deck and it is usually around $200. I havent had many other decks though so I cant compare it too well against others. I found No problems with this deck.

Strength:

The DEH-P4100 provides excellent sound and power without extra equipment - good for those of us who want quality but aren't audiophile gearheads (nothing wrong with being one, I just can't afford to be one, heheh). The EEQ feature is a godsend. The EQ presets are good and easy, and those looking for even more can create a setting. By providing more than just bass boost, the EEQ allows you to get the most out of your car's sound hardware. Also worth praising: this deck plays CD-Rs flawlessly, and is *very* resistant to skipping. The included remote control is handy for manipulating the player's controls while driving. I also like the look of the player - much nicer than the DEH-P2000 I had in my old car, in my opinion.

Weakness:

Like some other Pioneers, the faceplate feels brittle (but it's not). A mute button would've been real nice. The unit powers down when a CD is ejected, instead of staying in a "standby" mode. The text display could've been better.

I would highly recommend the P4100. For the $229 I paid at Best Buy, it's a steal. For skipless CD playback with full CD-R compatibility (unlike some other companies' decks, which struggle with CD-Rs), the Pioneer decks are the way to go. Buy the one in your price range (but don't go below the 3100, as the lack of EEQ in the 2100 is a real deal-breaker IMO... the old 2000 would be fine though).

DEH-P2000... has a few extra features, which is especially important now that the 2000 has been replaced with the feature-deleted 2100 (no EEQ or alarm).

Strength:

Over all this deck pretty much sucks. But if i had to find something good about it is that its made by pioneer

Weakness:

it has alot of weaknesses some that are really anoying. The bulb for the deck goes out in about 3 weeks, and it is hard to read in the daytime and night. It skipps all the time and not worth the money you pay for it. It also has been known to melt.

i paid about 190 for it and it was the worst deck i have ever used. I do not recomend it cause of all its problems! the first week was good but after that it all went down hill, one of the parts inside it melted so i had to but a new part, then the bulb went out and i had to replace it. It skipps all the time.

Strength:

Very strong built in amp, powers my Alpine 6x9" very well. Sounds like 2 8" subs in the back when the Front Image Enhancer is used. EEQ does a great job with tweaking the sound, and the remote is the ultimate in convenience.

Weakness:

Programming CD names is hard, but I don't really use it anyway.

I paid $250 for this total, including the wiring harness adapter, and the installation kit. It was a great deal for all the features this CD player has. I would highly recommend it, especially if you have a stock radio, you'll definately notice the difference. Also good if your like me and don't have the money to add a amp, the one built in is very capable of making 6x9"'s pound.

Strength:

The sound clarity, loudness, and lack of distortion are superb considering the amp is packed into the head unit. The CD player never skips. I don't have much to compare the radio tuner to, but its sensitivity is very good and Pioneer has a good reputation.

Plenty of features. The wireless remote seems gimmicky at first, but it is very nice because I can change CD tracks, radio stations, etc. without taking my eyes off the road. The EQ settings and CD titling give you something to do in rush-hour traffic.

Weakness:

The faceplate never feels firmly latched onto the headunit. It doesn't fall off or anything, but it feels like it will. A rotary volume knob would be nice. Better ergonomics would be nice, but with all the features and it being a DIN-size unit, I think it would be impossible to avoid having a whole bunch of tiny buttons!

The styling is a bit...well...let's just say that those of you who drive Civics with 8-foot wings and clear taillights will love it. It's better than a lot of the competition, but I wish Pioneer would put those same good electronics in a package that looks a little classier. I almost didn't buy it for that reason, but the features and specifications were too good to pass up given the price.

It's very good overall.. Excellent value, good specs.

Strength:

Great Deal. Reliable. Plays crappy burned cd's. Doesn't skip.

Weakness:

Rotary knob would be useful but i bought the steering wheel remote so problem solved. ATT button on faceplate would be useful. People rave about the FIE but you would do much better running an active crossover.
CD naming is useless.

I paid 170 for it online. I was looking to upgrade my system, so i sold my Blaupunkt to a friend and looked for a cheap head unit that had 2 preouts. I was looking around online when i found this Pioneer for $170. The only good thing Pioneer makes is head units. Unfortunately, punk kids broke into my vehicle recently and stole everything except the head unit, 2 amps, and my Infinity splits. After thinking long and hard, I have decided to keep the Pioneer permanently for it suits me fine and I don't have money to spare on an Eclipse head unit. Truth of the matter is, it truly is an exceptional cd player compared to others in it's price range.
I can say that anyone would be happy with this head unit if they use it properly.

Looks great, probably the best sounding deck I've ever heard! 60Wx4 at a 12V rating. I've had no problems with it. The sound quality compared to other name brands is a night/day difference! The BBE function gives you a nice tight mid-bass sound.

Weakness:

the remotes a little big. Other than that, it's the best!

I recommend this deck for anybody who appreciates good guality and great sound.

Similar Products Used:

Nothing compares. The BBE feature is incredible! A lot of decks have a bass boost or a D-Bass, but these features merely distort the sound when you turn it up too loud. BBE works totally different. Wow, what a difference!

Great sound, i love the remote control (you dont think its necessary till you have one...i wouldnt want a car stereo without one now), just an all around great perfoming cd player for the price, the ez-eq is great as is the 45x4 power.

Weakness:

none

i paid 230 with free installation at circuit city (you have to pay for parts which set me back 30 more bucks). i would definately recommend this cd player, the ez-eq is cool as is the remote. im not a car-audio freak so im not sure how is stands against more expensive units, but just hooked to my factory speakers, it sounds great. i didnt have the builty in alarm installed, the main reason why i went with the 4100 and not the 3100 was the remote control. i just felt that i didnt want any body messing around too much with my new jeep's electronics at circuit city and me having warranty issues down the road with jeep. if i want a car alarm, ill buy one.

This deck only cost me $200, the Easy EQ is impossible to be without, The remote is kinda cool, has plenty of power and can handle all 10 speakers in my system, and the alarm rules!!!

Weakness:

Can't name radio stations, would like to have rotary volume control.

I would definatley recommend this stereo to everybody!!! If you are a complete audiophile you will need an amp and this stereo will be just as good as most great stereos. The price is great too!!!

The only real stereo I've had, besides crappy old factory tape decks.
