This amp is a workhorse. I listen to the music every day on my car for at least 2 hours and the amp is still going strong.

Not as loud as I expected from 500 RMS

Good amplifier for a basic system. If you want something better get a Rockford Power 1000. I am pushing a 15 Audiobahn high excursion single 4ohm that handles 600 RMS; it is on a sealed enclosure. I have the amp bridged to one channel at 4ohms. So far it has been working very good,and it has not overheated. I have the gain set high because the amp is not loud with less gain. BTW this is with the bass knob all the way up. Anyway I am getting a bandpass box and I am sure that it is going to hit harder.

98 99 ARE THE BEST FOSGATE AMPS

I read some of the reviews and evry one that bought a newer 500a2 arent having enough power. Thats becuse a 98 and 99 500.2 are difrent.the old 500.2 has a lot more power 250W X 2 AT 4 OHMS. 500W X 2 AT 2 OHMS AND 1000 BRIDGED. IM PUSHING TWO PUNCH HX2 12" IT HITS HARD! THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS MY LIGHTS DIMMING EVEN WITH A POWER CAP.

Gets hot fast, does not push my 4 ohm subs like a rockford amp should. Crossover cards are horrible, I prefer a crossover knob. amp plays low with gain turned all the way or at 1/2 way. My Boss Riot 4 channel(bridged) pushed the subs almost as hard as the punch amp does in 4 ohm stereo. Boss amp retail $280 and PUNCH amp retail $1000+. The punch amp should blow the boss amp away at that price.

I have the chrome series punch power 500.2,in which i had hook up with 3 punch power dvc 15s. two of them blew up within the first month.ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 800a2 amp which sucks and a 2000 1100a2 . I have these amps mounted in a ford f-350 w/powerstroke the 800 can''t get rid of the engine noise and the 1100 will not balance from left to right. The 1100 is hooked to 4 10" power rf power subs. I sent them both back to the factory and they charged me to fix them even though they were under warrenty because they said the business i bought them from online was not an dealer they knew.so be careful of where you buy these amps.When they came back from the factory the unbalanced amp was fixed on the right side but now the left side was screwed up.They said the 800 was no problem found. So i installed a cheap pioneer amp in place of the 800 and have no noise problem. I thought Rockford Fosgate was good but they have went down hill.The warranty people are a real pain!!

Nice to look at. Punch gains are handy.

No fuse on the unit.

After two months the amp died and took one of my subs with it. I took it to a Certified Dealer to have my connections checked, they were all good. The gains weren't crancked, I didn't have the bass on my head unit turned up. The voice coils were wired properly. I was charged $25 to have it replaced. I wouldn't have minded having it rebuilt if I had used it longer, or if I was pushing hard. All in all I'm unsatisfied with the amp's performance.

Well a few of you don`t know what you are talking about.This discussion is about the fosgate 500.2 not the 500a2.They look the same but a total different amp.The 500.2 has almost twice the power and the price.Its about 1200 watts and price between $800-$1300 depond on some retailer.

This amp is one of the best.I run 2 12"RFR1412 into this amps.It thumps!!!

strong and tight bass

it runs a little hot but i get rid of the heat by instaling a little fan

im using it as a sub amp bridged mono 4 ohm to 2 punch xlc 18" subs - the thing hits hard
ive had it for one year and it didnt give me any troubles, it only shut down one time after 1 hour of abuse but since i put the fan never did it again.

This Amps Pushes around 1200 to 1300 PUCH WATTS (not no mtx B.S) its a chrome limited ediotion amp. you can run so much off it its not even funny.you put this amp on 4 DVC 12 and tell me its not the best.....

well alot of the idiot that dog this amp are retarded because they think the PUNCH 500a2 is the same as a PUNCH Power 500.2 and there dead wrong there is about 700 to 900 watts apart so before you dog something you proly have no clue about DONT. this amp is completey chrome and it does have 4 gauge outputs so learn something you idiots. i have this amp running to 4 dvc 12 and i have a punch power series 800.4C (C as in chrome) for my highs i also have a rockford symetry as a crossover
