This is a very good amp if you want bass but not too much. I had this pushing two Rockford XLC's bridged and wow did it hit! Never once did it overheat or cut out on me.

I think rockford has always made their products to excede the power ratings because the 250 is way under rated, it actually is pushing 400 watt's continuous! This is a wonderfull amp and i would suggest it to anyone!

I bought this amp after my MTX 2160 got water in it and died..:( I loved my 2160 but to my surprise the 250a2 took its place very well. I'm running two polk db 6x9's, it has a lot of power and its real clean. I don't think you can beat this amp for the price, I paid $149 at www.buyloud.com and that included shipping. My final thought is that its a great amp for the price.

I am using this amp to push two 8 ohm 12" Punch XLCs (although RF recommends a 360a2) and this amp has plenty of power for the two subs in the sealed enclosure I designed. I tried replacing the amp with a 360a2 (just for grins), but measured only a 0.2 to 0.4 dB gain (this amount cannot be heard by the ear). Therefore, I returned the 360a2, which cost $80 more. At full volume, the subs produce 120dB+ (measured at ear level between between the front seats of my Accord).

Loud ,clean power

I got ripped on the price but I just didn't wanna wait for an amp in the mail.

Slams my soundstreams ALOT harder than i thought it would .A very underrated amp tested at 404 watts. a best buy if you find one cheaper than 150 bucks.

Just got this amp today for $215. Using it to drive 2 JL 10W1's 4ohm in a bandpass enclosure. Bass punch was powerful and solid. The built in low pass crossover with adjustable cutoff frequencies and the Punch bass boost allowed me to adjust the right amount of bass I want. All in all a very solidly built amp with great performance.
People who experienced turn offs due to excessive heat should read the specifications for this amp. Minimum for bridged mode is 4 ohms, not 1 ohm! Minimum for stereo mode is 2 ohms, not 1 ohm! If you're going to connect multiple woofers in parallel to create a 1 ohm load to this amp in bridged mode, it will shut off! So, don't give this amp a low rating just because you expect it to do something that it's not designed to do.

This amp power my cars speakers and it kicks serious A... I love it.

not two ohm stable in mono

this amp has gone thought hell its been ran at 2 ohm mono for hours.frist i wired it to two rfz12s at 2ohms mono.the i put each speaker back in stereo mode and it still made them jump.so one day i moved it cause the wires were everywhere so i was unhooking it and started walking around my truck and it fell out my hand(it was hot)so i hooked it up and i still works its been working like that for about 6 months.try that with a power acoustik or kicker.

Small size but big bang

I wasn't sure how much bang I'd get out of such a small amp....man, was I surprised!! It has great bang, and really opens things up. It was one of those cases where I was hearing things on my CDs that I hadn't heard before. I'd read a lot of good things about this amp....and now I'm a convert. RF must be doing something right!!!

Being such a small amp it sure as hell hits hard. I have it at 1-ohm mono powering 2 12" Orions in a sealed box, very tight and punchy. Easily fits under a front seat.

I've had it shut off a few times on me due to heat, but mainly because I had it turned all they way up for an extended period of time.

It was a gift to me, I would highly recommend it to somebody else. While Rockford Fosgate amps are expensive, you DO get what you pay for..

Old Punch 200... Rockford Fosgate for some reason decided to change the naming of their amps...from the power at 4ohms to the power at 2ohms... The reason I switched from the punch 200 (equivalent to a punch 400a2 if they made one) was because it was stolen, but at a 4 ohm load - the punch 200 pounded the hell out of my 2 12" punch XLC (also stolen, die thieves..die..)
