Strength:
Weakness:
These aren't really weaknesses but things that are expected: The AM model amplifiers are some of the best ever made by PPI. I have a 2300AM model PPI and it is killer. The thing is about 24 or 25 in. long and white with funky drawings making it look like something that would go into your little sister's dollhouse, but looks can be deceiving. This amp has a dual power supply-- 2 seperate circuit boards and ran about 1200 watts to a pair of 15s in the past. I now have the thing running at 2 ohm to a pair of Kove Armageddon DVCs, and i kid you not..this amp is running 1200 watts peak to EACH sub.. that's 2400 watts of power coming from this amp and i highly suggest u cough up the money if you're ever lucky enough to find one considering how rare they are...i guarantee u that u will love this amp to death Similar Products Used: Nothing campares to this amp...i kinda have a bond with it now :) |

A600
Strength:
the first 10 minutes
Weakness:
thats how long it took to heat up and then there was a noticable loss of power, whether it was pushing 3 10w6's or a set of BA pro's, didnt matter... same deal overall, I wasnt satisfied with the A600's performance, so i sold it, and, in turn, it was sent out to PPi to to get checked, nothing was found wrong, was returned, then my buddy sold it due to the same power characteristics.....dunno who the poor sap that has is now is....but he can keep it Similar Products Used: currently, Kicker Zr's, great amps, had mtx, pio , nak, ads , rf., too many to remember |

Strength:
By far the best amps ever made. I wish PPI still made them. Incredibly clean, clear power. Adds no coloration to the sound whatsoever. Built in liquid cooling was a great idea!! its taken someone...what....5...6 years to come up with it again (Bazooka).
Weakness:
They get a little hot when ran very hard, but has never shut off or had any problems. No internal crossovers, but those usually suck anyway. I love this amp (a404). I would/will never part with it for less than $1 Million. I have it running MB Quart components and a PPI PRO 12. Performs flawlessly even after about 5 years or so. Very clean, very tight, very powerful. Beautiful artwork too. You just don't find amps like this anymore. Its really a shame. PPI outdid themselves when they made these amps. If you can find one....BUY ONE!!!! Similar Products Used: no other amp compares except MAYBE..... McIntosh, Zapco Studio series, or US Amps |

PPI Pro Art 100 and Pro Art 50
Strength:
Obscene amounts of power, 1 Ohm Stereo, 2 Ohm Mono
Weakness:
A rep at PPI said he knew nothing about the availablity of the power supply upgrade to make it .25 Ohm Stable You know PPI under-rates their amps as is. Imagine when they make a cheater amp....this is it! This puppy is rated at 100x2 at 4Ohms Stereo, 400x1 at 4Ohms Bridged, 2x200 at 2Ohms Stereo, 1x800 2Ohms Bridged, 2x400 at 1 Ohm Stereo. It still uses the dual 80 Amp fuses, and has the same chassis and artwork as the A1200.2. The Pro Art 50 has all the ratings in half (ie 50x2 @ 4Ohms Stereo, etc), except it has a single 60 Amp fuse. Similar Products Used: This is the High Current version of the A1200.2, Earthquake's old "largest amp in the world", PPI's car-priced one-offs. |

A1200, A404, A200.. Its precision power, I really dont have to give much of a review on it.. A1200 pounds 3 JLAudio 12' w3's at 155DB in a SUV..
Weakness:
The damn amp keep nuking my w3's.. And yes they are hooked up correctly.. The entire artseries line is the best audio equipment out there.. Great sound and lots of power and clarity.. The liquid cooling mods are already in the amps(just take the side covers off and use a pipe tap).. Similar Products Used: 3 mile island nuclear power reactor |

Guys the PPI art series amps rock!!! From the art design too the liquid cooling features..PPI was coorect when they said absoulute state of art..
Weakness:
I think a weakness would be a lack of an internal fan,(but the PPI PC21400 has a built in fan and that $h!t still doesn't help)..Also the prices are kind of expensive for an average joe...But I can say it is well worth it.. Well the A1200.2 which is absoulutely mint was purchased used, for the price of $400 which included a PPI FRX322.The A404 which isn't the .2 model was purchased used, for $75.And the Ax400 was purchased used, for $25 in non working condition. Similar Products Used: Well I recently got these amps..But i have the PC2350 and the PC450..And also an HiFonics Zeus seriesVII |

PPI A1200
Strength:
Endless RELIABLE power, I had it pushing four 15's and it seemed I could fold them inside out if I wanted to. Currently it is pounding 3 jl 12w6's which cracked the windshield of my chevy pickup...Never ever had a problem... except when I did not have caps or the correct wiring...to the people who had problems with it "losing power" when it warmed up...this thing draws MAJOR power and should be supplied with such, I origianally used a 12 gauge wire for about 20' (goin' cheap, I had to hear how my investment sounded :-), any ways WITH the vehicle running when it hit the voltage dropped to 9 volts! now with correct wiring it never sees below 13.
Weakness:
no internal cross overs (but us tweak freaks don't use em anyway). Does get hot so keep well ventilated. I paid 550 used from the best shop in Phoenix, and I wish I had picked up the A606 they had too. This is by FAR the best, cleanest sounding, most powerful amp I have ever had. Therefore, noone else but ME is allowed to buy them so there...No seriously I am Looking for an A606 (six channel) amp and another A1200, both in white please send any offers/leads to: satizfaction@hotmail.com THANX Similar Products Used: fosgate, (sorry guys... they sucked), pioneer, mtx, alpine, kenwood. |

Strength:
Produces an astonishing amount of bass to my 12 inch solo-barics. It pounds for hours on end. There's no stopping it. The Arts are hands down the best amps I've ever owned. Hopefully I can buy a few more if anyone is willing to part with it.
Weakness:
It runs very hot if the gains are not ajusted correctly. I've had my A-600 and 200 for around six years now. The price back then was roughly about a dollar per watt. I still say it was well worth every penny. If you need an amp to push a sub or two invest in a that A-600, it'll never let you down. Similar Products Used: N/A |

I had a PPI A600.2,and this amp was awesome.I had 2 Lanzar DVC 12's hooked up to it,and it rocked!I would run it sometimes for hours on end,and it wouldnt ever shut off.It was clean, pure unbeliveable power!I kept blowing my 12's,they arent the BEST 12's at 235.00 each new,but they sound good:)
Weakness:
well there are tw things that i dont like about that older ppi ampsthe one is they get HOT!MY 600.2 got hot enough i could have fried eggs on it..haha.The other things that bothers me is that they dont have a built-in crossover, that was a hassel at first, but worked out for the best in the long run I only paid 300 bucks for my A600.2 when i got it.You can pretty much buy them all day long in the price range of 200-300 bucks.I got mine from a friend,i knew it was in good repair, that is why i gave him more for it.I would totally recommend the A600.2 if you are going to be running 2 12's,or even 2 15's. It it s a VERY stable amp,it has all kinds of power and has crystal clear sound Similar Products Used: I have used anything from a HiFonics Colossus,to some of the new PC Series Precision Power amps,i still think that the Art Series PPI amps were the best amps that PPI ever made |

a1200.2 (SAME AS SHANE RUSSEL'S)
Strength:
IT MAKES A GREAT HIGH END INSTALL LOOK. YOU COULD SEVERLY DAMAGE YOUR EARS WITH ITS POWER AND FACE WITH ITS WEIGHT. I LIKE BIG AMPS. IT SCARES THE COMPETITION AWAY. SAME AMP AS SHANE RUSSELL'S DAKOTA IN BACK ISSUE OF CAR AUDIO MAG. MY AMP HAS TWO 80 AMP FUSES IN CHASIS - I'M THINKING OHMS LAW SAYS VOLTAGE TIMES CURRENT EQUALS WATTAGE - 160*12=1920 WATTS. TAKEN IN THAT IT ISN'T 100% EFFICIENT - NO AMP EVER WILL BE - LET'S SAY IT WILL BE 60 % WHICH IS FAIR. 12 VOLTS GIVES ME 1100 WATTS 14.5 VOLTS GIVES ME 1350 WATTS THAT'S RMS Y'ALL ROCKFORD BRAGS THE POWER 1000 TO BE 1500 WATTS BUT THAT IS PEAK. THIS PUPPY COULD EAT IT ALIVE WITH 1600 TO 2000 WATTS PEAK.
Weakness:
IT DOES LACK CROSSOVER - THATS o.k., IN-DASH HAS SUB OUT WITH CROSSOVER BUILT IN. SECOND - THE POWER CONNECTION TERMINALS ARE NUTS. SNATCH EM AS YOU SEE THEM - PPI RULES - SAME AS THOSE FLAT POWER CLASS PRO SUBS. I HAS PC PRO 10'S THAT SLAMMED LIKE 12'S ON AN OLD ROCKFORD 100ix (A TRASH AMP THAT I AM ASHAMED OF USING ON THEM). Similar Products Used: DIRECT CONNECTION TO THE 10,000 VOLT POWER LINES. |
