Weakness:
gets too hot i was using a crossfire cfa 404s for about 3 years. i decided to get a old school ppi amp. wow what a difference. it has alot more power and the bass hits cleaner. dont get me wrong. the crossfire is a good amp also, but compared to the ppi. theres no contest. A404
Strength:
Reliability, consistancy, and longevity. 2Ohm stable makes it versital.
Weakness:
The Speaker wire terminals aren't large enough to easily run 2 speaker wires. I have an A404 and I love this amplifier!!! I have been driving it hard for 8 years ago and it's still kicking!!! My subwoofer amp died years ago and I've been extremely happy running 4 interior speakers of the front 2 channels and two Subs running mono off the rear. The rear channel signal is even boosted off an external cross over and I've never had any problems. Similar Products Used: Kenwood, ADS |

Strength:
Great amp with lots of power. Looks good and sounds even better.
Weakness:
Not a one. I bought this amp second hand from another guy in the military. At the time all I had at the time was two Kicker Comp 10's running off of an old Punch 60 (DSM). Let me tell you. This thing is a beast. I love it and am looking for another to run two of my four Punch 12s. |

600.2
Strength:
Clean & clear sound, good focus, wide sound stage.
Weakness:
none so far. I get this second hand A600.2 from Ebay in very great condition. I bought it because of my friend recommendation. Sound is so good, so clean and clear. I use it to drive one pair of dynaudio 17w75 midrange. Sound stage is wider and has more focus than MMATS 2050 that I used before. Similar Products Used: MMATS LM2050, autotek SS300.2 |

A404.2, A600.2
Strength:
Everything.
Weakness:
Nothing, some would say the lack of crossovers, but a true audiophile would say your not suppose to have built in x-overs. I purchased these amplifiers from HIFI Buys over 7years ago. I used the hell out of these amps and they are still kicking. I sold the truck and pulled them out, and about to place them in my new truck. That is how much I love these amps. My advise to anyone out there looking for a good amp, is they don't make them like they use to. Buy em' if you can get em'. A204.2 A600
Strength:
Great look, power ratings are way below what can be expected. If you are on a budget and would like a single 4 channel amp to run an entire system look for the A404.2. The next step up. I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
Weakness:
None at all desite the problems with my A600. I took the risk at purchasing used and paid the price. Still would do it again. Lack of internal cross over. This may be a problem to some people, but I would rather have an external cross over to tune the entire sytem/ I must say that the art series line is amazing. I was able to find out just how much PPI under rates the amps when they give the power ratings. I was experiencing problems with the A600 which I bought used(I think I bought it broken). The amp put out power but I assure you it was not 600 watts. I decided to run my entire system off the the A204.2 while I get my A600 fixed. I was running a pair of solobaric 12''''s at a four ohm mono load. The rating for the "little" A204.2 is on the order of 100 watts at 4 ohm mono. These subs hit hard. Now don''''t get we wrong you will not win any competitions but they hit twice as hard as they did when hooked up to the A600, this confirmed my suspiscions regarding the state of the A600. I was blown away that this "little" amp was able to push these powe hungry speakers so easily. I almost considered looking for the 6 channel art series (A606.2 I believe) to run my entire system but decided against it. Similar Products Used: PPI PC2200 (not bad power for a little amp) Rockford, Kenwood, No name brands. None compare. Will recommend art series to anyone looking for a great product. |

1997 Pro-Mos 50 (used)
Strength:
Very powerful, clean power no distortion from my woofers. If you want an amp that loves to get driven hard, this amp is for you.
Weakness:
no crossover or bass boost - but that''s OK. This amp rocks. Even though PPI states it is a 50W amp, this baby can put out some power. I am running 4 - 4 ohm KICKER COMP VR 12s and let me tell you, the harder I run it the better bass response it gives. Similar Products Used: I had a PPI Sedona 100, but cannot compare as the PRO-MOS 50 is a competition amp. |
