Strength:
There is no strengths, Unless you want the amp to push a set of 10" Subwoofers, But i can say.. The amp runs cool.
Weakness:
Alot of Weaknesses here, The amp is Stable at 1 ohm, BUT it only stays at 500 watts? This Amp Can't even push my 12" L5 Subwoofer, It sounded Okay, JL Amps still need alot of work.. to High on Price.. And Yes, i had all the right Wiring.. even had a 1 farad Cap.. My Head Unit wasn't the problem.. I have a anpline cda 7894.. Recently I upgraded to a Audiobahn A18001DQ, This Amp Kills JL Amps! Sounds go clear and TIGHT! cant hear I love JLs I have two only two 10w3s in a ported box and a US 600x amp wired at 4ohms and they slam extremely hard.. when i got my dB's read i was hitting a 149.0 i highly recomend jl there the best |

Weakness:
NONE!! If you're looking for a powerful sub-amp...GET THIS FREAKIN MONSTER!! Or, take a step up too the 1000/1. I'm pushing a pair of JL12W3V2s in a sealed box. I have never taken the gain past half (I need my hearing). I'm setting of car alarm, shaking my friends windows, I buzz cars at stop-lights... Similar Products Used: ZIP!! Nothing comes close to this bad boy. |

BEST 500/1 out there JL IS KICK ASS i have the 500/1 hooked up to 2 15w0's and it pounds hard. i also have a $800 orion hcca 250 amp. and the jl amp hits harder than the orion amazing power. Soon To have 3 15w0's on 2 jl 500/1's and one orion hcca 250. whos gonna bump know???? 2 12w3's no match not even close Similar Products Used: none if it isnt jl its not similar |

everything you want in an amplifier, the 500/1 got it.
Weakness:
yea right I love this amp so much! Perfect for the two JL 12w3's in my '99 Nissan Altima. The bass is unbelievably clean! I never realized how good my system was until I heard other people's systems and theirs couldn't compare! I just laugh. After listening to theirs and I go back inside my car, all I say is "ahhh, finally listening to what real bass sounds like." Ive had quite a bit of people tell me my system is the best sounding they've ever heard. No other amps can perform the way JL's do. Not many systems with the power I'm runnin and the price I paid can hit 138.2 dB like mines! Yea, you bet I'm proud! Similar Products Used: none, this is my very first system, and you'll never catch me bumpin' anything else but JL Audio. |

Amazing power without dropping impendence. 500watts x 1 into 4ohms!!! Great set of sonic tools to adjust sounds. Match my JL 300/4 in terms of looks. Awesome build quality. Very solid and elegant looking. Again like all JL amps, underrated, carsound tested the thing and it put out 750watts into reactive loads x1. Imagine that, most other amps are overrated. Whereas here, you get alot more than what you pay for.
Weakness:
None, are you kidding. Awesome build, power! That's 500 watts into 4ohms boys and girls. Most other amps that's listed as 500watts are into 1ohm or 2ohm only. This thing is a beast it's powering my 12" JL W7 in a ported enclosure without breaking a sweat. For everyday listening I have to tune down the sublevel on my HU. Because the amp drives the sub so hard I feel like I'm getting a back massage everytime the bass hits, the license plate rattles, the spoiler rattles, the rearview mirror shakes. And, man, the bass is so tight and acurate and fast. Awesome combination with the JL w7. I can't believe what the 1000/1 would be like. Although I have to say this amp is already enough for me. I would be interesting just to see how loud my system can get with another 500/1 or the 1000/1. |

Class D amp, very small, paremetric eq, all controls on one side is a plus, and last but not least its a freakin Jl!!
Weakness:
na na none na na No joke this amps kicks serious A$$, beautiful design, class D, 500 rms all the time what more could u ask for? cost a bit, but well worth it, i love this amp, powers my 2, 12w 3''s Jl''s well, Similar Products Used: does not compare to anything on the market rite now. |

Strength:
Total control, clean power, make any sub sound amazing(as far as ive seen), not to costly for how amazing it is, cool look too(compliments any install). Also very flexable for installation purposes(you dont have to worry about finding an amp to match the ohm needs of your subs)1.5-4 ohms constant @ 500 watts RMS.
Weakness:
Not too sure this amplifier has a weakness, if it does, no big deal. These are the first amps JL made and they still surpass even phoenix gold in performance. So if there is something wrong you can assure yourself that Jl will have fixed it by the time their next models come out. But i still dont think these amps have a weakness (ive never had any trouble with them ever) This amp is nothing short of amazing. I have 4 of them. 1 wired to each voice coil of my 2 Jl w3-d4''s. 500 watts RMS to each coil at 4 ohms. Ive had a few systems in my day and by far this one is the loudest and can go the lowest when it comes to bass response. I think the Jl amps really compliment their subs. Or any sub at that. The power from these amps is so clean its just unbelievable. Distortion is a thing of the past with these amps as far as im concerned. You get nothing but unmatched bass performance when using these anplifiers and they''re worth every penny you pay for them, too. Similar Products Used: Amps are hard to judge weather or not one or another surpasses each other in performance ( because some brands are known for working the best with their own components) but if i had to choose one to c |
