HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... Can only think of one - the style / looks from FAR AWAY.

Weakness:

Sensors, tires, service dept, something goes wrong every 3 - 4 months.

My dream truck..... Um for about 3 months. I took it home was soooo excited - two weeks later got my first of 3 recall letters, took 6 months to get the tires replaced (only 3 days after two of them BLEW OUT!) The seatbelt recall was taken care of after sitting there 2 days, all the sensors have blown and been replaced, now having road noise from hell "nothing wrong" according to the service dept. Service dept left a lot to be desired - rental / loaner car while in the shop was also a death trap on wheels. And then the FMC credit center cant seem to keep payments straight and have a real problem clericly when you call a payment in.

Strength:

Styling, value for the money, unmatched performance and reliability.

Weakness:

Gas mileage suffers some with the automatic transmission.

I enjoyed the Ranger XLT flair side, regular cab with 2.5 & automatic. I have found this vechicle extremely fun to drive. I have not had any service problems at all. I find the performance of the 4 cyl engine to be acceptable. I feel the Ford Ranger is in a class by itself, with good looks, great handling suspension, and terrific money value. This is one fine little commuter truck.

Strength:

The stereo system is pretty good for factory, the price I got it for, and I like the fact that there isn't much fabrick on the inside, like the floor, it's much easier to clean the dirt and mud off the rubber

Weakness:

Just like many other Ranger's that have this problem the scensor switch that detects that door a jar jams up occasionaly, which causes the dome light to stay on... The trick is instead of having that replaced everythime this happes buy a can of cilicon spray and spray it in where the door latches and it will free up that switch...

A good little truck that has held up fairly well concidering the miles put on it (173,000)... The only thing wrong with it is that is has a humming noise for the back when I cruise, not when I accelerate or cost, I need the rear distributator replaced :(

Refuses to quit. I'm not going to lie. I have raised some hell in the truck and it has never layed down on me.

Weakness:

The Hydraulic Cluth gave us some trouble, and the heat isn't very hot, but we fixed the cluth, and hell I can wear a jacket when i drive.

This was my first truck and I'm still driving it. When me and my ad first bought he said "Hell it'll die in a year or two but, you'll get you feet wet". But she's still puring.

Strength:

It flat out refuses to die

Weakness:

hard riding, Typical ford front brakes (replaced calipers with all metal piston type and problem is gone.

I bought this thing March 94 for $4500 with about 95K/mi on it with the 2.9L V6 from a private party. All I can say is good things about it. The only major thing was the original clutch went at 160K/mi and I repaired the A/C and converted it to R-134A coolant. Now with over 230K/mi it is still going strong on the original engine with no oil consumption or noises.

Strength:

4.0L powerful. This truck is EXCELLENT I LOVE IT !!

Weakness:

4:10 rear end is a little thirsty with the gas, but hey, It's a truck!!

Bought truck w/39,000 miles on it. Truck has 4.0l 4:10 rear end. Loaded to the max minus 4 doors (don't want 'em either)! Off Road Package is AWESOME. Flaresides look great too! This truck has caught my eye for a number of years, so I went out and got one! NO REGRETS!! A lot of people bash these trucks, but there is always one bad apple in a bushel. These trucks look great and run great. First vehicle I have had in a long time that I look forward to putting on extras and always keeping clean! (P.S. NO I do not work for ford)!!!!

Strength:

Drives great with little road noise. A very comfortable truck to drive if going long distances. Even with 145,000 miles on the engine it is in great shape and the only thing that is showing wear is the transmission.

Weakness:

The 3.0 v6 is a little slow for my taste but it can get up and go when it needs to. If you spend 45 or so dollars on a K&N air filter and spend a little money on a Flowmaster muffler, your acceleration gets much better.

I bought my ranger in 2002, it had a 127,000 miles on it, and it now has 145,000 miles. It was a great value for the price paid and is very dependable. Ive had to replace the battery which was the original battery that came with the truck. I put an exhaust system and a few modifications such as a net tailgate that make the gas mileage a little bit better.

Strength:

Handling (this truck will hold on to the road even under the extreme situation.) Lots of power out of the 4.0L Very comfortable in side & very roomy with the exteded 4 door cab. 4wheel drive works great will handle almost anything.

Weakness:

CD player destroys cd's. The 2 rear doors do not close right. Interior lights & door a jar light stays on most of the time.

I bought this truck Used with 65,000 miles on it. The first 1 month everything was great I was impressed with it's power and driveablity. It handle the road very nice. I then drove it to NJ wich is 1500 miles 1 way. stayed for awhile then drove back. I then change the oil and the nexted month I began to have problems. First the interior light would not shut off and says the door is ajar. Dosen't do this all the time. then I stared to loose oil pressure in the moring. Took it to the shop 3 times they could find anything wrong. 3 months later I went back to NJ and stayed for 2 weeks. Now the truck had 80,000 miles on it. Then while driving the timing chain broke. Had the timing chain and gaers replaced. But now the oil presusre gage moves all the time. I now have a tap in the engine. I had it fixed and about 600 miles from Kansas City, MO it came back. the motor still runs strong but it has a tap, and oil presusre problem. Also the cd, tape combanation messes up and destroys the cd.

Strength:

Lots of power, but not far off from my 1996 jeep Cherokee. Rides well and while pulling handles better and stops better then the jeep. I am impressed with how much it can hull and how well it handles it. Hopefully it can hold up as well as my jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee has 143,000 and running strong. I am expecting more but I have never had a car last as long or as well as my jeeps

Weakness:

I am kind of disappointed it doesn’t have a V8 they did put one in my Mountaineer its on the same frame as the Ranger why wont ford put a V8 in the Ranger. Back is kind of tight but other than that the truck is to new to tell 75miles…

I have just bought a 2003 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 extended cab FX4 off road pack. Fully loaded, automatic transmission with 6 CD changer and all the extras. I didn’t feel the need to get the FX4 stage II pack.
