Strength:

Great acceleration Alot of torque & horse power Very dependable Parts and service are reasonable

Weakness:

Wide turning radius Braking system have a habit of locking very easily Poor gas mileage

I have the 350 5.7 liter V8 and it has a stampede of horses under the hood.I've had pretty good service out of it poor gas mileage, but what do u expect with over 260 horsepower? This is a great used truck to buy if your looking for something dependable, sturdy and powerful. CHEVY RULES!!!

350/TH400 Great Combo! It's a tank!

Weakness:

Age Gas mileage (11 Hwy, unk. city)

Actually truck is a 76. Great truck!! 350 was rebuilt last May, no problems since then (if something goes wrong, I'm blaming the mechanics!!). 400 Turbo is practically bulletproof, and strong. This one might never have been rebuilt, and I'm sure the truck has almost 240k on it. Jumps off the line quick, thanks to the 3.73s in the rear. Glad my dad bought it for me as my first, even though we had problems at the beginning. Unfortunately, I might be getting rid of it soon, as I found a 96 C3500 (6.5, auto, crew cab dually) that I fell in love with today and am hoping my parents will give me the money. I need the better gas mileage. I've been driving all brands of trucks, looking for the right one for me and my personality. I think I've found it, in another Chevy!

Engine dependabilty, ride quality, power, and interior room.

Weakness:

Transmission

Great truck. Had it for just over 3 years now and have put 50,000 miles on the clock (now at 150,000) I replaced the transmission and radiator. Other than that the truck runs great and gets better gas mileage than some of the newer trucks (best of 19 on the highway) The engine is powerful and very dependable.

Strength:

Great acceleration and power for an old gal. Original 305 runs like a top.. 175,000 miles on the odometer and still going strong. Bought her this year and put 6,000 miles on her as a fall/winter vehicle and I actually like driving it.. Comfortable seats, roomy... easy to work on. (not that it's needed it yet) Bottom line is that this is a 16 year old truck and it's still serviceable. The interior is still beautiful after all of these years. I guess Chevy's are the most dependable, longest lasting truck on the road. Everything works and works good enough, I'm very satisfied with the truck.

Weakness:

Bad cold weather starter.. it dropped down to -25 and it wouldn't start.. but then again most other vehicles didn't either.. Bought a sears die hard battery and it starts okay on normal cold days. Burns a little oil, but I'm not complaining. Antifreeze lines leak.. have to keep refilling antifreeze. Oh well, I'll get it fixed in the spring. Windshield washer jug is cheap plastic that is cracked.. and the passenger side windshield washer shoots straight ahead like a water gun. Need to let her warm up a little bit or she doesn't run very well. (she hates the cold!) The truck hasn't seen too many wax jobs.. which isn't it's fault. Paint is faded, a few small rust spots. All very minor problems for a vehicle this age.

regular cab. 2x4. original 305 engine. automatic transmission with overdrive. deluxe cluster. trailer package. AM/FM Stereo Radio Some people might not think this review matters too much because of the age of the truck, but if you're looking for a dependable, cheap old truck... read on.

Good looks, Good power and ride quality. A very well built truck. Would recommend it to anyone.

Weakness:

Spongy brakes. Have to replace pads often. Windsheild wiper control module had to be replaced. Transmission needs to be upgraded.

I bought this truck used in 2000. THe 5.7 vortec is fantastic. I have 172,000 miles on it and doesn't burn any oil. This is the best truck I have owned. Rides great and gets pretty good mileage for a 4 wheel drive truck. I just had to get the transmission rebuilt 1000 miles ago. I hope it lasts as long as the engine.

Strength:

Read above.

Weakness:

V-6 strained under heavy loads.

Excellent reliabilty. Only replaced brake pads, filters (fuel, air, and oil). The V-6 was a trade off between gas milege and power. I found that I didn't need V-8 power in mostly city driving. This vehicle was well engineered. Simplicity of performing own maintenance lends itself well to this truck. Fit and finish, structure, and driveline components are top notch. Had 160K miles on before I traded it in for a 2003 Chevy Truck.
