Z-VUE

Strength:

Ride: Economic: Looks: No Hassel Buying: Good maintenance record for 2nd year vehicle. For the money you can't do any better that a VUE!

Weakness:

Shift arrow can be annoying. (it suggest better mileage if you shift when it lights)

After much anticipation in driving my first SUE, I have been impressed and delighted. The VUE is smooth to drive and corners well. The 5 speed manual trans and 4-CYL is a great combination. Peppy, and easy to shift. Interior: All controls are easy to operate and reach. Exterior: The best looking SUE, in my opinion. Function: Wonderful space throughout. Parking and drivability is also great.

Strength:

Great Ride Corners Well Space Comfy Seats Efficient Dash Layout Good Engine

Weakness:

Too much plastic, but then, it's not a BMW or a Lexus.

The 4 cyl. with the manual transmission is adequate and can be pretty peppy if you stay on top of the shifter. The ride is tight in regular driving conditions and holds its own on wet roads. I’ve been very impressed with the bang I got for the bucks I paid.

Strength:

Looks, safety features, dent-proof door panels, great service and interesting options. I love the seat warmering feature that comes with the leather option.

Weakness:

There is a wind noise from the sunroof that might be caused by either the sun roof or the roof rack which also has a kayak cradle incorporated into it. The kayak cradle is not removable, and I wish it was removable.

Generally, I'm very pleased with this product. The styling is crisp, it's V-6 engine feels very powerful and the interior is nice. I'm not much of a car nut but it seems that the handling is good, too.

Unigue look Safety for the family Gas mileage Innoventive storage

Weakness:

The wheel is very different to get used to

We have 3 children so we decided it was time to upgrade from a car. Deciding between a van or SUV was the hardest part. I hate the feel of vans so we went with the VUE. I believe Saturn must have taken extensive research into what people really want in a vehicle. The storage space is wonderful. I love the crate that opens in back for all my groceries. Nothing sliding around back there. It took me awhile to get use to the feel of the drivers wheel. Knowing Saturn's reputation we took a leap of faith with this being the first year this vehicle has been out. Gas mileage is better than most other SUV's and the safety rating was in the top 2. That feeling of safety doesn't hurt.

Strength:

lots of room in front and rear seating and good egronomics.

This is our second saturn, the first a 1995 SL2 had engine problems and we had to fight with saturn to get it replaced. Well we were looking for a replacement and because we get the GM A plan we thought saturn would have improved over the years we got suckered into another...Dumb move. This newest saturn sucks. The weather striping is poor and mud and dirt gets in to far. Also the rear door weather strip appears to be a after thought, as there is a gap where the tires spray mud into the area between the door and the back seat. Saturn also has not released the oil filter so you can only get it changed at the dealer a real pain in the ... I hate to say it but my next purchase will be foreign.

Strength:

Good power for passing. Reasonably good gas mileage. Great visibility.

Weakness:

To small a gas tank (15.5 gal). Larger arm rest would be nice.

For the $$ it is a great SUV. It has a lot of room on the inside. This is the first thing I noticed when I sat in the SUV. The positive front wheel drive handling took some getting use too. I enjoy the driving and do not get over cramped when going on a long trip. The ride is reasonable without being too stiff.

Strength:

excellent interior functionality, space; plastic body panels, unique looks, innovative features, excellent powetrain, almost guaranteed dealer experience.

Weakness:

limited options available (it is going to change for 2003 model, AFAIK).

Absolutely wonderful car. First of all, it has a nice exterior, not a typical boxy design of CR-V or Ford Escape. Yes, you can tell it from others, which isn''t very common for other SUVs. Of course, it is a question of personal preference, some of my friends hate its front grille design. Then, you have the interior, which is absolutely stunning in terms of functionality. Folded front passenger seat gives you almost 9 feet of space, you have lots of leg space, low floor, high seats, internal spare tire, many very useful gadgets (dimmed mirror with compass and thermometer, privacy glass, etc) nd very well designed storage space. Not to mention cargo organizer. Unlike Honda, they don''t give you such "useful" features as a... folding camping table. Yes, the interior is cheap, no leather, chrome and wood - but this is not a $60k car. Saturn engineers did their best to make this car functional, and to offer many innovative features, and I believe this is a better use for my money. Electric power steering is excellent for parking - something that is not very pleasant with Escape. 5-speed automatic is excellent, even better that older transmissions from Saturn, with their unique fuzzy logic algorithms that make driving uphill or downhill much simplier. It is a revolutionary medium SUV, and it performs very well. I wasn''t sure it makes sense to get first-of-the-line models, but their powertrain components are tested in other GM cars (engine comes from Saab, for example) and you can always depend on their service, plus, for Saturn, the number of problems with their cars is much below industry average. V6 engine is not most powerful around, but the car is not very heavy, stable, and offers excellent fuel economy, so it is worth it. The car is very well balanced.

Strength:

Good Pickup, reliability

Weakness:

The interior could be a little nicer. But it is a Saturn not a BMW.

Very Good car for the price. Like most Saturn Products. Good Pickup, handles well in ice and snow and unlike most Japanese products you actually have head and legroom and they hold resale value. I am extremely happy!
