Strength:
good looking forever. Drives good at first.
Weakness:
Transmission, stereo, manifold, allignment, no power. Before I bought this car, I read all of the reviews at this site...and for some horrible reason I bought it anyway. If you still love your Pathfinder, it's because you're under 60K miles. If your going to drive this vehichle, I suggest that you get a nice back up car. Like a nice Civic or something. Strength:
Powerful and smooth 240 HP V6. Excellent build quality Quiet smooth ride great sounding bose audio system
Weakness:
No rear disc brakes- would help improve breaking.Should at least be offered on LE. Reccomends premium fuel for "optimal performance" Only gets about 15.3 MPG in mixed driving on premium. Doors do not lock automatically when put in gear. Bought fully loaded Pathfinder LE based on quality and performance.Took advantage of special APR and cash back. Pathfinder Chilkoot Edition
Strength:
Power, handling on slippery roads and braking power are all excellent. The stereo (6-CD in dash) has excellent sound.
Weakness:
Would like to see power seats in the XE model. Fog Lights should be on all models. This vehicle has met all my expextations from a performance point of view. I tow a boat and find the 240 HP V6 to be more than adequate. It has handled the road and the off-road well - the Auto-drive is very beneficial - and helps in the winter here in Canada. The gas mileage is okay, average from what I understand with vehicles with comparable horsepower. My kids are happy with the roominess of the back seats, adult passengers seem happy if there are only two in the rear and a little cramped to fit three in the rear. Strength:
Smooth comfortable ride, roomy interior. Bose stereo system is great!
Weakness:
Gas mileage. But if I wanted good gas mileage, I would have purchased a compact car. Fantastic SUV. Smooth like butter ride and the interior is roomy and very comfortable. I love the leather. Recomend to anyone. I also looked at the Toyota Highlander. It couldn't compare. |

Nissan KingCab XE 4x4
Strength:
Tight ,no leaks, rides decent
Weakness:
Gas mileage,XtraCab room, power on acceleration and alot of aggravating issues with AC and Wiring Bought this 4x4 for all the wrong reasons to start with, and have since found out what those wrong reasons were. First of all, I needed gas MILEAGE, room(for 2 small children/occasionally), dependability, and at least a little get-up-and-go from 0-60 mph. What I got was 15-17 mpg(18 hwy.), not very good for a 4 cylinder. Alot of this attributed to the extra weight of a 4x4. The extra cab area in the back is WAY TOO UNSAFE, and uncomfotable for anyone, much less kids! Seating faces inward towards the center(bucket type), and the chance of a front or rear impact collision would be awfully bad. Stopping or restarting during normal driving causes unneccesary head movement from rear passengers. NOW, lets talk dependability, or the lack their of. I purchased the vehicle used used, so I accept some of the things that have happened. I''ve had all routine maintenance and service work kept up-to-date, and I still own the truck. Most all the problems I''ve expirenced would probably be considered minor, but range from AC line cracked to what could have been a very expensive wiring harness problem had it not burned the two fusable link wires at the battery into(by the way, thats what they''re designed to do, just before ALL the other 5000 wires in a wiring harness melt!) Most all these problems came at 38k-40k miles(Just when the warranty I had ran out) By the way I never abuse or mistreat it....can''t afford to. |

Weakness:
brakes why no rear disks? Drums are weak and mushy feeling. gas mileage - but you knew that when you bought it. Enjoying this truck! the ride is like butter, glad I went with the 5-speed manual - shifts great. I had leather added later and it''s much higher quality than factory leather. Unfortunately, I couldn''t get the leather package (heated/ power seats, etc). By far the nicest vehicle I have owned. I use the 4X4 for snowy fire roads up to the trail heads and it tracks like it''s on rails. Probably wouldn''t use it for any heavier off-roading, though - it''s too nice to scratch! Only complaint is the brakes are a bit vague feeling. My wife''s car (Odyssey) seems to brake better than the Pathfinder. They stop, but I don''t feel the modulation and power as well. Weakness:
Hp 150, Not the best mph, squeak in frount suspension.(just tighten it up) If you are looking for a solid reliable truck, this is for you. Good offroad, nice options, looks great, nice suspension (sport). Dont listen to those whiners about there major problems, if they cant get a vehical inspected first its there own fault. Dont blame your bad decision on a abused truck. My truck is over 200 km and is still running great, no problems, no repairs, just regular mantainance. Nissan Pathfinder
Strength:
The engine has for the most part been quite reliable.
Weakness:
Brakes, Transmission, Shocks I found several reviews here that accurately described the problems I''ve encountered with my pathfinder. I got it used with about 65,000 miles on it. After about 2 years the transmission ceased to work and cost me a wonderful $2,500.00 dollars to fix. I''ve had to fix the brakes several times and replacing the rotors almost three times since I''ve had it and most recently replacing the entire brake system. The car has always made a clicking sound when it would start but luckily has never resulted in anything more. About a year after I first got it the floor under the accelarator pedal rusted all the way through and caught the insulation under the floor carpet on fire. This cost around $150.00 to fix and luckily I was able to put it out with out incurring any further damage or injury. The steering for the majority of time I''ve had it has been misaligned. It seems it takes little to knock it out. I also recently had to replace all the shocks and struts and it still rocks a little too much and is squeaking when it does. I checked consumer reports car buying guide before choosing the Pathfinder and still can''t quite figure out why they continually rate this SUV so highly. I would be hard pressed to again choose this vehicle and ''am definitely getting rid of it for something better. |
