not great gas mileage(10-20 MPG), hard to find parts for b/c they dont break often, low weight limit for roof rack, hard to find after-market parts ( i.e. winches, grill guards, etc.) I LOVE THIS VEHICLE!!! It rides like a truck, drives like a truck, and can take almost anything I throw at it short of a cliff. On or off road, it is great, especially if you like a rough ride. I dont have to worry about potholes or bumpy roads, and it can handle dirt roads at, well, excessive speeds. I am in the process of putting on a 3" body lift kit and 33" tires to really get some clearance. Other than a few parts I broke Off-roading, (these things will happen) I havent really spent any money on replacing or repairing things. THIS VEHICLE IS ROCK SOLID. But again, expect a truck when you drive this. They are not luxury SUV's. I would not recommend this to someone who would only go off-road by accidentally running over the curb at the end of the driveway. It handles great in the snow, especially in 4WD. Mileage. Reliability (something I thought I don't need to worry about with Nissan products) It is my first SUV and I bought it new. The right exhaust manifold cracked after 60K miles and fixed by dealer under warranty. The left cracked just over 100K but dealer refused to fix it under warranty. 4 months later, coolant intake manifold inlet cracked (bad part according to dealer), costed me $600 to fix. 1 months later, MAP sensor failed and costed me another $250. Other than these problems, I still do like it. Handling is decent. Ride is good. Similar Products Used: 94 Nissan Altima with >150K miles |

Strength:
Smooth ride and handling Dependability, durability Comfortable seats, well laid out interior
Weakness:
Gauge cluster too dim at night Stereo could use more midrange Tilt wheel needs more angle and ajdustability-it's either in your lap or too high Gas mileage needs improvement 2nd cup holder too far back in the front console I've only had my PF a week. Absolutely love it! The dash is uncluttered, controls are easy to locate and operate, smooth acceleration, very little wind noise, decent stereo, handles well. My dad has a '92 model with 175,000 miles appx, and is still going strong with no major mechanical breakdowns, and I look forward to the same dependability. Similar Products Used: Dad's pathfinder |

Noisy (wind) on the highway but it didn't bother me. Expensive to fix.I had to replace a little panel over the tire and it cost over $100 just for the thing. I bought the truck new. It was my first SUV.The package came with power locks, windows, side rails, a/c and cruise control. All of that worked excellently.I have had no engine problems at all. I just had minor problems. The sound dial on my radio was very touchy but I didn't feel like paying $400Cdn for a replacement. The rearview mirror fell off a couple of times which seemed to be the norm when I talked to a friend who owned the same model. The temp gauge was unreliable but the compass worked. I've only had to replace the tires, front struts, front brakes and clutch once. The clutch, only because it was making an irritating noise but I had no problems with the trucks' performance.I drove the truck a lot to Toronto,Ottawa, Pennsylvania etc. Have 178 000Kms on it with no problems. I can fit my 7' kayak inside with lots of room to spare. I had no problems getting around in deep snow. I went to an organized Nissan pathfinder event and the people I talked to were very satisfied with their purchase. Village Nissan's service department was wonderful. I felt they were always honest in their service. |

I've always had full size American Luxary cars before. The appointments are very nice! Love the sunroof and the leather. Love the fact that I can use regular unleaded gas. Seats are very comfortable. Like the 4X4 on demand. Very quiet engine. Air conditioning is great, as well as the heat. Like the tailgate open style options. Like the all power seats on both front seats. Has a good Maintance Schedule. This modle is dressed-up for a night out on the town, it is willing to get down and dirty when it comes to taking on the back country roads! Engine power is okay. It takes the hills fine.
Weakness:
Dealer service tries hard, but - - - ! Hate painted bumpers! The Bose sound system leaves alot to be desired in sound quality. Too much road noise. Cup holders and glove box could be better. The automatic climate control is a wonderful gizmo, but the motor (?) humms and ticks loudly and the Dealer said there is nothing wrong with it?! Gas milage should be better, for engine size. I find the headroom a tad, squat! Can't wear my hat. Backseat leg room skimpy and getting in and out of the rear passanger side doors is too tight for anyone over 5'2" and more than 110 lbs. Never owned vehicle of this type before. Had reservations. Test drove Ford and GM products, to compare. Was not sure if I would like to use the SUV as my only vehicle. Decided to take the plunge and commit! I love this SUV! Drive nearly 100 miles a day, to and from work.Very comfortable. Would recommend Pathfinder to anyone who needs a dual-purpose vehicle, like myself. Just Love it when I go shopping in the homecenters and nurserys.I can really cram a lot of due-it-youself project stuff in the cargo area. Hope to get lots & lots of milage! Runs great in 4x4 down on the beach. Have traveled over 100 miles down the beach at times in deep soft sand and it didn't miss a lick.
Weakness:
The cup holder location is lousy. The mpg is around 15.5 combination city and highway. I bought this Pathfinder with 105,000 miles and now seven months later it has 116,000 miles. It has been very dependable though I did replace the water pump at about 110,000. Similar Products Used: Ford F-150, Ford F-250, |

Strength:
Body style and interior are attractive and convenient. Smooth ride, Even after 116,000 miles, it's had very few problems and I wouldn't be trading it in now, except for the mileage.
Weakness:
very easily dinged by other car doors, etc. sides would probably crumple in an accident. Gas Mileage is not as bad as you'd think (18-20 city) but the only SUV with good mileage is retched (Suzuki). Bought used in 2000 w/45,000 miles. It now has 116,000 miles. I had to replace the rear bearings, rear brakes and shocks right after I bought it @ $750 but it was probably abused by the previous owner. The only problem since then has been a starter @ $350 and rotors/brakes @ $400 both repairs last december. I had replaced front pads a year earlier. at 7 years old and with this many miles, trade in value sux. Have used 4 WD many times, but clearance is lacking, so never really pushed it. Have been on many long trips and it's very comfortable. The interior on the 2000 and above models seem cheap in comparison. I'm in my car more than 6 hours a day so convenience and comfort are crucial. It rides more like a car than an SUV. You have to be careful of steering, it sways a bit if you're going too fast.
