Strength:
Does pretty good on gas being a SUV 24 mpg on the highway, 20 in the city.
Weakness:
I don't like the digitial display on the dash. It looks rather old school. I think they could have added some type of digital graphics to the display screen. But other than that it's a nice ride. Very sporty ride, and eye cathcer. It rides nice and the CVT technology is pretty cool. I really have no complaints about it. Similar Products Used: Ford Explorer |

Gas Mileage Premium Gas Requirement. Words cannot describe how I feel about this car. Im not even an SUV type person and I still bought this car. It has stunning looks outside and inside. The technological innovations in this car are fit for an infiniti. I love the intelligent key and the GPS. Like some of the people, I wasnt too thrilled to learn that it requires premium gas and its not all that great on gas mileage compared to my old accord. I cant wait to pull up to the valet or take a much deserved road trip to Vegas in my New Black on Black Murano. Similar Products Used: None |

Appearance, sound system, heated seats, CVT.
Weakness:
Cupholders, gas cap entry. All in all, this is my favorite car of all those owned by me. I did lease it to make an affordable payment. The style which was what had originally attracted me, is still very appealing after almost a year driving it. Two design defects I have found: The cupholder could have been better, as if you have one cup or bottle in one of the two holders, when you turn the cup or bottle tends to tip over. Second, to get to the gas cap is sometimes impossible. I have had to go to the dealer twice now to have them open it--very frustrating if you are low on gas. They should have made a little thing for you to simply open it with your hand rather than the spring latch that has failed twice. Makes you very nervous about taking it on a trip. Other than those issues, I love the car, the sound system, the heated seats, the handling in the snow. Gas mileage could also be better--16.5 miles to the gallon--combination of city and highway driving. Similar Products Used: None--never had an SUV |

Weakness:
GAS MILEAGE PREMIUM FUEL REQUIREMENT I had no idea I was in the market for this car, but while checking out Maximas I spotted it and the rest is history. Obviously, you're going to appreciate or dislike its styling. I think its terrific and it sure does still get the turned heads. Driving the thing is great. Interior space is exceptional and acceleration is impressive. Seat comfort is fine too and the stereo is just plain awesome. The laptop storage bin is cool, except the power cord opening is too large and permits stuff to fall through. The interior plastic scratches way too easily, as does the bumper. Just about EVERYTHING else is great about this vehicle except for a glaring fault; Gas mileage and fuel requirement. To think that a modern, technologically advanced company like Nissan would develop a mid-range vehicle that requires premium gas, approaches the height of stupidity. While I love the performance, I'm sure that I could live without the few horsepower that the higher compression ratio provides. On the other hand, I would greatly appreciate the 10 to 20 cent savings per gallon that a "Regular" gas requirement would offer. Particularly since the car only gets 14-15 in mixed city and freeway driving. Where'd that 20 - City EPA rating come from, anyway? Freeway mileage is fine in the mid to high 20's. I notice that a previous reviewer uses regular gas, but when I tried that, it only resulted in dropping the already lousy mileage to 10-11. I'm not so sure that I would have bought the vehicle if I had realized that it wasn't particularly economical to operate. I'm still going to give it a fairly high rating, but I hope Nissan corrects this for future models. If they don't, they will have lost me as a customer. If Toyota can do it, so can they. |

Drives really well- Holds the road well on corners. Looks amazing and turns heads. Great seat positioning and heating. Perfect lumbar support. Superb stereo system. The 7 speaker Bose Audio is something that I could never live without now. The way that the seats can be sprung forward from the trunk is a huge convenience. The one seat forward option is also great for snowboard/ ski storage whil still holding 2 passangers in the back seat.
Weakness:
Poor Front and rear bumper protection- Bad gas Mileage- Poor Power steering at very low speeds- Bad steering wheel adjustment potential- Front Blind spots- Steering controls are not back lit- Limited air direction control- This is an amazing car that I would not change for a while, but as a designer I have a lot of suggestions for improvements. I bought the SE Front wheel Drive with the touring package. Other reviews that I read before buying had said that the SE was a much more bumpy ride than the SL. I test drove both and the difference was like driving a Toyota camry and a Porsche- except a much smoother ride than a porsche. Needless to say I went with the SE. I knew I would not need the AWD option and was told I would get better mileage with the Front wheel drive. I can't imagine getting worse mileage. I only get 15.6 miles to the Gallon. I was hoping for 22. I have a lead foot when it comes to accelerating but even when I make a conscious effort to take off smoothly and drive slowly it does not budge. There is also very poor front protection. Someone backed in to me in a parking lot and left 3 huge dings on the so-called front bumper. The 1st thing I would do is purchase the Nissan front bumper tube bar that is made for the Murano and actually adds to the aesthetic look of the car. It comes in the same grey that is standard on the underside of the SE. (It also hides my dings). While I was at it I also bought the rear bumper protector which is just a strip of rubber that I need to stop my friend's dog scratching the hell out of the back of the car. It should really come as standard. Another thing that bothers me is that the Steering wheel adjusts up and down but not in and out. This makes it hard to find the perfect driving position where the arms are not under pressure and you can still see the dials. While the dual air conditioning controls are great, air can only be set to "on" or "front". This means you can't have it aimed at you but not your feet etc. (Bad for driving in flip flops). I love the size of the storage unit between the driver and passenger seats but the cut-out, which is meant to run the laptop charging cord through to the top section is too big and everything just falls through it. I also find it very difficult to judge distances at the front of the vehicle but this has actually worked out to be a good thing. No matter how close I try to get to my wife’s Mercedes in the driveway, I just never come close to bumping it. I always under-estimate because of the blind spots. There are also times when the power steering seems to turn off at very low speeds and great effort is needed to move the wheel until I can accelerate again. I would have complained about the coffee holder if I had not just read another review on this site, explaining that there was a flip-down section to keep the containers in place. I ran out and sure enough there it was hidden. I even read the Manual! Some other reviewers complained about window rattles. I mentioned this at my first service and they tightened up the hardware inside and now the problem is gone. In saying all of this I love to drive this car and it is the most comfortable yet sporty ride that I have ever owned. The only way I would change cars is if Nissan came out with a hybrid version of the Murano. Similar Products Used: BMW X5, Ford Explorer. |

Decent mileage. Great room. Fairly intuitive controls, especially if you've owned a Nissan recently.
Weakness:
Wind noise with windows and/or sunroof open. Requires oil change & filter every 3750! No sense in using synthetic oil. Scheduled maintenance can be pricey. I'll do my own. Great Car! Decent mileage. I'm now getting 23 highway and city after break-in. Tons of room. Good handling. Does everything I wanted. Navigation works OK. Noisy with the sunroof or windows open. Yes, it runs on Regular gas (87) just fine. Good acceleration. I've learned I can shift to "S" to slow down. Mine is white with tan interior. Looks great! Have not used the AWD yet, but it's not really what I bought it for. No problems or issues so far. Got a good deal in Central NJ for end of model year. Slight rattle in window. Problem at first with Check Engine light until I learned to properly shut the gas cap! I have owned my Murano for over a year now and am still thrilled to get in it and drive. I wonder if the folks that have complained about the cup holder have discovered the little fold-down partitian attached to the cup holder door that makes the holder work perfectly? It took me 6 mounths before I found it! I use my Murano for everything from hauling 25 bags of yard mulch to going out in style. It is equally suited for everything I need in a suv. On a recent 2200 mile round trip I got better than 24 mpg. Similar Products Used: None. |

No wonder the best SUV i have ever driven. one simple word for it. AMAZING. got it off from a private sale at a price lower than the black book value. amazing Silver exterior with rusty iron interior... i must say it has everything one can think of in a car. memory seating, heated seats, 250hp, 225watts speaker system, 6-CD changer, Sunroof and with the GPS on my handheld PC, it has become a powerful workhorse. took it to off-road last weekend and man i was amazed by its performance off the road. Loud ride Passenger side automatic window is VERY noisy Poor visibility in spots This just happened today - when I tried starting the car, it stalled. It did this twice in a row. I am bringing it into the dealer tonight, so I will update when I find out what the problem is. -Other mechanical issues include the check engine light coming on about 5000 miles ago. Turned out to be a minor repair, but I had to rent a car for a day which was a costly inconvenience. -I also don't like the fact that Nissan (at least at the dealerships in Orange County) doesn't provide a courtesy vehicle. This is a major hassle for me to find a ride / or rent a car. I didn't think it would be a big deal when I bought the car, but now that I see what an annoyance it could be, I would definitely recommend purchasing somewhere that offered this service. Overall I am satisfied with my car. I have the base SL model, because I found it has all the amenities I needed. I bought this car after I traded in my fully loaded 6 month old Volkwagon Jetta. Needless to say, the CVT smooth shifting transmission helped sell me this car, compared to the jerky shifting of the Jetta. The outside styling is impressive, and I've received many compliments from strangers attesting to that fact. I also like the smooth ride, and gas mileage I get driving the freeways. Unfortunately I feel I need to write this review to let potential buyers know the possible problems they might encounter if they purchase this crossover. While overall I would recommend it (I've already convinced a good friend to purchase one) there are a few annoyances that I feel a fairly new car shouldn't have.
