Strength:

Aggresive handling awesome turning radius, engine performance, looks great!!

Weakness:

Gas mileage, Cup holders, more wood trim, availability of accessories.

I have been the owner of several SUV's thus far this vehicle has superceded all expectations. The Mercedes- Benz ML 430 is absolutely the best SUV on the market.

Strength:

Good sound system. Excellent suspension

Weakness:

Wind noise with open sunroof. You have to roll down a small opening in the back window to get rid of the wind noise.

Good ride for a SUV. Basically love the car.

Strength:

Can't find anything good.

Weakness:

(1) low fuel light blinks and the dealer can't fix it for two years. (2) check engine light comes on after they fixed the low fuel light. (3) lost my power stirring and oil all over my garage. (4) window switch failed. (5) drive side leather trim fell off, center leather trim bubbled up. (6) plastic on rear cracked (7) need to change brake three times within 32,000 miles, need to replace brake disc too. (8)transmittion valve failed. (9)head light burned out within a year. (10)I paid $1500 to install a foot step rail on the side of the SUV. It comes with a light and the light blubs burned out in the 13th month. The dealer told me that the light blubs is not under warranty because it is an accessory. All accessoies are warranty for 12 months, if I need to fix the damn light bulbs, the price would be $1,100.

Shame on Mercedes Benz.I had never encounter so many problems with a car still under 36,000 miles. I need to visit my MB dealer almost every two months for the passed 30 months to repair my SUV. After they fixed something and soon new problem steps in. I couldn't wait to trade my SUV for another Brand name. Here is my best advise--- Never even think to buy this SUV.

Strength:

Nice ride and comfortable SUV when it is not in the shop.

Weakness:

Poor design and execution by mercedes with little or no support from the factory. The only method for forcing the honoring of the warrantee is via class action law suit. I would encorage the organization and participation of a class action law suit due to the number of complaints to the NTSA that have not resulted in recall campaigns and the implied and percieved value of the brand not living up to the advertised quality. It is like they are selling generic drugs labled as the original prescription .

Not what I have expected after owning MBs for the last 25 years. Poor reliability, fast depreciation (Trade in Value of $18,000),factory customer service manager who uses 4-letter words to my wife, MB legal department who is telling me to go away after my warrantee is up, repairs that don't stay repaired for long.

Strength:

Well thought out design, functional, had all the features I wanted. Priced right.

Weakness:

The car was in the shop at least 12 times (thats every three month), mostly for multiple reocurrances of the the same problem. Heater/AC failed, GPS failed every 3 month, Audio system failed, interior trim fell off 6-7 times, windows refused to close etc etc. We heard rumors that the Quality Manager at MB is the guy that played the banjo in "Deliverance".

I had leased a ML320 3 years ago. It just came off the lease. I have owned or leased many vehicles, both European and domestic. This was BY FAR the worst purchase decision I ever made.

Strength:

I feel pretty safe in this vehicle- has a solid feel and it seems to get around pretty good. Have received many compliments on the color and UP-TO-DATE sport styling.

Weakness:

Soccer mom styling- short front end makes it look minivan like. annoying radio controls that dont work easily

Pretty good so far, seems to have a strange problem where the alarm system starts to beep for no reason (usually in the middle of the night) The radio controls are annoying and cumbersome. Navigation system works pretty good. Vehicle drives very nice and I feel secure in it. Everyone tells me its really a soccer mom-overpriced-mini van, which is kind of annoying. Back seats are a pain to put down and I think so materials are kind of cheap looking. I guess my ownership experience of a MBZ has not been what was expected, but over all Im pretty happy with the purchase.

Strength:

Safe vehicle when it's not broken down at the roadside :-(

Weakness:

Everything electrical, premature wear of brakes, rattles & squeaks, general build quality, unhelpful Dealer and MB USA local rep.

The problems began almost immediately with both the car and dealer. The recurring problems with the remote entry system and the dealers inability to repair. Over the next 2 years and 24,000 miles we incurred over twenty warranty repairs and numerous visits to the dealership. Sadly many times the dealer was unable to fix the problem on the first attempt - resulting in repeat visits. Had I been complaining about rattles & squeaks I could understand their lack of success - but unfortunately most of my warranty repairs were for major electrical problems. The attitude of MB USA is about the same as the build quality on our ML, ie very poor. They really couldn't care less. Next time I'm voting with my wallet - no more MB products in my garage.

Strength:

good quality and built overall. Acura is asking for too much(always thousands above the MSRP). This model(ML350) is a very good upgrade than the previous ML320.

Weakness:

wind noise over 60 mph. Sunroof needs one-touch control. Optional CD changer hidden in a place that is hard to change CDs. Need to work on the folding seat. Sometimes, the folding seat locks in position that is hard to get back up.

At first, I was kind of worry about the quality of the M class. After driving for 200 miles, this worry is gone. At least, the power is comparable or better than the 2003 Acura MDX that I tested drive earlier. Braking the car need extra strength, at least, harder than the C and E class. Making Left/Right signals are just like Japanese counterparts(effortless): an improvement. I have the 3rd seat option. It is a bit tight. Only suitable for kids. Circulation of blood will stop after 15 minutes if you are adult. A lot of rooms if only seats 5.
