Strength:

Very well thought out interior, decent mileage, great looks, strong engine, roomy inside. Great ride and quick acceleration when needed.

Weakness:

Column mounted shift a minor inconvenience when adjusting radio knobs. Cargo space adequate, but I expected a little more in a truck of this size.

A terrific SUV. Perfect size, pleasure to drive, and great value for the money. High seat position, top-notch audio system (with my luxury package)and great looking to boot. I did a great deal of research into the compact SUV market and, although the Hyundai Sante Fe also impressed me, I am delighted with my choice. The Tribute is an outstanding value overall, and handles more like a car than many of those ugly behemoths on the road. It's a rare blend: a kick to drive yet safe enough that I have no worries putting my 3 year old in the back.

Good power,comfortable seating,excellent mileage,handles well

Weakness:

noisy, hard riding,-gear shift, wiper control and radio switch all interfer with each other.dashboard instrumentation hard to read-poorly designed

An adequate car for the money. If suspension is improved and noise when on road is decreased, car would be much more acceptable. Auto transmission and mileage very good

Strength:

Nice looking. Good stereo system. Lots of room for a mid size SUV.

Weakness:

2 problem engines with no explanation from Mazda. Unreliable. What else can go wrong?

Bought this SUV last year as I needed a reliable vehicle to get me to work (I was travelling to and from provinces). I had my first engine go at 26000km with no warning leaving me stranded and hitchhiking with my infant. Now my second engine has blown at 48000km. It too left me stranded with my infant son. I haven't even owned this vehicle for a year... it has been in the shop for appx. 1 month of the 10 months that I've had it. I had a rear wiper motor replaced. Aside from that it's a nice looking car.

Strength:

Engine power,AWD/4WD. Seat comfort is great. Interior is well appointed for theprice you pay, compared to the more pricer makes. The exterior looks like it cost a lot. Most are surprised when I tell them what I paid. Even more surprised after they drive it.

Weakness:

I agree with most of the minor dislikes I've read. The one thing that truely bothers me is the OD being on as soon as you turn it on. Being a highway function you would think it would have to be turned on when needed. I know of no one with a drive that feeds directly onto a freeway. Other than that its a keeper.

I have enjoyed every aspect of this SUV.

I love the CD player and sound system!

Weakness:

Everything mechanical!

This car has been nothing but a problem. Three months after purchase the transmission had to be replaced. The battery has been replaced four times. I've had problems with the brakes, power steering and now they tell me it has the wrong computer in it. Andy Jones Mazda in North Augusta has done an even worse job in repairing my vehicle. I have zero faith in the dealership and the vehicle.

Good towing capacity. Powerful engine and nice looking. Drives like a sports car.

Weakness:

Very rough ride and too much road noise. Ignition key hole hard to find in dark.

My Tribute is a very reliable and useful truck. I use it to tow my boat and 4 wheeler which it does with ease. It has a powerful engine and sports car feel which makes it fun to drive.

Strength:

Spaciuos and elegant looking.Handles well.

Weakness:

Too much road noise is heard inside the vehicle.

I bought the vehicle as a used re-conditioned car imported from Japan. It had 18,500 Kms on the clock. I am extremely pleased with the performance and handling. Just last week an Engine caution light started to illuminate intermittently. My local agent has no clue as to why it appears. They have not made any direct imports of this model yet. Can any user help me to diagnose the defect?

POWER-a compact with a V6, attractive interior, sporty, roomy, suprisingly good cargo room, easy to park

Weakness:

too much plastic, everyone else wants to drive it!

The most fun car I have ever driven. The Tribute is a stylish, fun and versatile SUV that I reccomend for anyone. It is very smooth, powerful and comfortable.

Ford Explorer-the Explorer feels more like a truck but it is better built and has a bigger trunk, not as much fun to drive though.

Strength:

We were involved in a head-on collision which totalled the vehicle. The safety features definitely saved our lives. The side airbags were worth every dollar spent and the seat belts held all the way. We would have been killed if we had been in any of our other vehicles.

Weakness:

The gear shift gets in the way if you are reaching to do anything on the radio. The wipers are difficult to control because they are on the same buttons. Design could be better on this. The transmission is a little jerky also.

WE purchased our Mazda Tribute to act as an all purpose car. My golfing expeditions, my wife's shopping, take the dogs to the vet, move small loads, etc. We have thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
