Strength:

Looks, handling, gas milage, agility, towing capability, roominess.

Weakness:

traction in the rain when cornering, noise, rear defroster ligt not visable and dosen't auto shut off,

Very happy with the car. Have put on almost 80,000 miles and have had only minor problems. A small pnematic valve that stuck and kept the car from idling and would shut down. Engine light on because of another small pnematic valve. Both could not be found by my old mechanic, but then I took it to someone who know how to diognose a problem, made the repairs in less than a half hour. I am truly considering buying a new one, just because I don't want to wait for parts to wear out and it ends up in the shop every month. For the money I don't think you can beat it!

Great power and excellent handling (for an SUV). A lot of fun to drive.

Weakness:

Front passenger seat not power and needs spacers installed to slightly raise from of seat.

Love this vehicle. Did plenty of research prior to purchasing. No problems after 10 months and 6,000 miles. A bargain for what you get. Highly recommended.

Great get up and go and very comfortable

high rollover rating

I loved this car. It was my first new car and I treasured it! Totaled ot after 5 months in a 5 time side over side roll over. I walked away with only a bruise from my seatbelt and a headache. My passenger wasn't as luckey, haveing not had on seatbelt. However I thank the solid construction of the roll cage for protecting me in this accident.

Weakness:

Not enough space in this box

Once we got to 20,000 miles, the car develoed starting problems, for no apparent reason.Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't.The service dept. of the dealership doesn't have a clue and isn't helpful at all. Also, the rear axle leaked oil ( discovered by my private mechanic ) and it took Mazda over a month to figure out that it was leaking oil. After I told them what it was doing! Their solution....order a replacement part, took weeks and then changed theirr minds and put in a new gasket and sealant!I will never buy a ford or mazda product again!

Strength:

lots of room for all your things. Handles o.k

Weakness:

terrible recall and defect record on 2000 models

Pitiful excuse for a car.I have walked and been left stranded numerous times. Cars locks itself, clutch spring dropped out, clutch oil leaked out, ignition lock would not let key go into start position, stalls on right hand ramps and then dies leaving one vulnerable to to getting run over. Numerous sensors have been replaced to get it to run. After numerous Ford products, I would never, ever buy another after this car. Ford would not help me out and continues to tell me that the 2000's were terrible.

Driver power seat works well

Weakness:

The car!

Have had nothing but problems! Transmission needs to be replaced - 59,000 miles. Master Cylinder, engine problem a "pin" needed to be replaced caused engine to fail. Stranded 2 times 70 miles from home. Reliability poor. Will never by another Mazda. Dealership okay - but they are limited in what they can do. Mazda corporate no support for such a poor product.
