Isuzu Rodeo LS
Strength:
Seats fold down, thats it.
Weakness:
Weak weak metal, for no reason has stalled many time, it is an automatic. Dealer can't explain it, oh yeah and they are a bunch of Bozos, go to a trusted neighborhood mechanic, he will know more. Have to let it sit to start after it stalls, for noooo reason. A tiny little plastic piece in the power window, WILL break, no big deal...only 50 damn bucks for a piecs of plastic the size of a quarter. In town driving, sucks bad, sucks gas runs rough. Does good on the highway. Too many other things to list about this overpriced piece of junk. read the weaknesses....there is my review summary.... Similar Products Used: go with a jeep or nissan |

LS 4WD
Strength:
Looks are excellent (Pallazzo Red Mica), great pick-up, plenty of room with seats down. LS package had everything I wanted. Real quiet on roads and great handling for an SUV. Best bang for the buck around. I put 30,000 miles and I haven't had any problems.
Weakness:
Would have liked climate control heater is either too cold or too hot. I don't like the idea of not being able to check tranny fluid (sealed system). I would highly reccomend this vehicle over anything out there in it's class. Not too big and not too small. Since there aren't that many on the road really stands out in the crowd. I've taken it off-road (Jones Beach)and it really holds it's own. I've driven it from Maine (blizzard) to Virginia ( 100 degrees) and have had no problems. Great engine, and mechanicals, excellent warranty and dealer is great. My friends have pathfinders, and 4 runners and they wish they bought the rodeo. For under $25,000 you won't find a better vehicle. Similar Products Used: Dodge Caravan, Jeep Cherokee boy did these suck in comparison. Kind of got used to seeing repair shops. The Rodeo not only looks better than the Jeep but also blows it away in ride quality, cargo room, and mpg. |

Strength:
Power is outstanding and manual is very smooth. Interior space is excellent and rear storage is a big plus.
Weakness:
in-dash 6-CD changer crashed the first day. Isuzu has aprocedure to repair, but the dealer (wisely) decided to replace the entire unit under the warrenty. MPG is low, but I'm driving a box down the road...no worse than the Blazer I traded in! An outstanding vehicle at a fair price. But then I always buy a model year back from a dealer....they need to get them off the lot. recommended for families of three of four. More than that would overload the back seat. Quality is outstanding. Well worth the time to compare to other UTEs. Similar Products Used: Tahoe-too big and FAR to pricy |

Isuzu Rodeo LS 4WD
Strength:
Love the looks and the cargo space. The driver and passenger seats are very nice and the 4WD system perfroms well.
Weakness:
After 80,000 miles this truck turns to crap. My servuce bills are very high, I am constantly replacing parts for the power windows. The truck itself is poorly assembled and does not hold up to long term use. All in all I think the word Isuzu is Japanesse for disposable. A great car if you plan to hang onto it for less than 4 years. After that your check book balance has to be very healthy. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
easy to work on...everythings simple and up-front lot's of room to work
Weakness:
3.1 Lv6 no power. pulling a single axle trailor on the highway at 70mph empty. had to keep it to the floor to hold highway speed. if it had a lawnmower on the trailor the motor would have not been able to pull it. iv'e noticed with other rodeo's...exhaust manifolds crack. rear wheel seals leak. and so did mine. over all i like my rodeo. it's been a good truck.it has had some problems. but like i said in "strengths" it's easy to fix.if you have the two wheel drive model...don't take it off road. stick with WELL drivin' path's...or you WILL get stuck. Strength:
Rides very well for an SUV: smooth and quiet. Nice power (205hp V6). 4WD works well and is easy. Looks cool. Cheaper than other '99 SUVs.
Weakness:
Would like more storage space in the back. The ceiling is a little low in the front, though I'm tall (6'2") and my Rodeo has a sunroof, which reduces headroom. Would have been nice to be able to lower seat. Ideally could use a few more niceties (climate control, better stereo, etc.), but pretty good for an SUV I'm quite pleased with the Rodeo overall -- many of its weaknesses I've listed above I wasn't expecting to get in an SUV anyway, and are purely wish list items (except for the lack of headroom in the driver's seat.) Similar Products Used: A friend has a Grand Cherokee, and it has more room and is a little nicer, but also more expensive. |

Just about everything,
Weakness:
Used to have a Vibration problem ,but it was resolved by balancing the tires. I owned my Isuzu Trooper for 14 years and it never broke down or EVER went back to the shop, my son is driving it now and he can't kill it either. So when I went to buy a new truck I stuck with the Isuzu . I have had my Rodeo for over 3 Years and over 25,000 miles and it runs like a champ. My wife loves it more than I do . Similar Products Used: Trooper , I like the Rodeo better, for ride and seating. The Trooper was like sitting on a chair and the Rodeo is like sitting on a beach chair |

Strength:
comfort, looks, power, handling. Does very well off-road for a 2wd model
Weakness:
In-dash cd changer ate 3 of my cds and had to be replaced(covered by warranty though). Moving from a compact car to an SUV will make you take note on how much gas you actually use, but that's to be expected. Sound system is weak(I like to FEEL my music as well as hear it=) We actually went to the Isuzu dealer planning on buying a Trooper but fell in love with the Rodeo when we saw it. Now I am very happy with the purchase. 27,000+ miles and I haven't had any problems (other than the CD changer). Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
What can I say I LOVE this truck! For SUV with stock suspension and auto locking 4x4 system, my Rodeo does suprisingly well off road. Not to mention occasional trips through 3ft deep mud/water puddles, 1ft deep slop/mud and upto 1ft snow. Lots of pep when you need it, thanks to a 190hp V6 and a 5-speed Trans. Enough cargo room to hold a full sized tread mill. More ground clearance then most other stock compact SUVs and Pick-ups. Easy access to all regularly serviced areas and fluids (Oil Filter, Oil Plug, TransMs Fliud Plug, TransCs Fliud Plug, Diff Fluid Plug, Etc.) Every inch of extra cargo space is available-none wasted. Lot's of fun to drive.
Weakness:
Drivers seat needs to be able to go a bit further back. (1-2 inches) Not much leg room for anyone taller then 5'8". Very few companies make aftermarket performance and/or off-road kits. (lift kits, lockers, chips, etc.) No wasted space in cargo area to hide larger speakers in. Factory speakers mounted on ceiling. Wish I had bought one with a roof rack. Wish that the fender molding that came on the Honda's was available as an aftermarket for the Isuzu. When shopping for a SUV, I was looking for a truck with a V6, 5-speed tranny and shift-on-the-fly 4wd - as minimum requirements. After a few trips around town, I was able to find my 96 Rodeo for $11,000* with only 38k miles on it. I know I've pushed this Isuzu past the limits that would have made most other SUV's fall to the way side... And this truck keeps begging for more. (*after trading in my 86 VW Jetta GTI for $1400 - I loved that car!) Similar Products Used: Exactly the same as the Honda Pasport (except for fender molding)... Yet the Isuzu is generally less expensive for a simmularly equipt Better ride then a Nissan Pathfinder. Larger then a Jeep Cherokee. Less expensive then a Monterro Stort. Most importantly, the wife really thinks it's cute! |

Strength:
I am a 1st time buyer so i was very pickey on specifics. Love the POD(Power on Demand)V6. Large cargo room, nice car feeling, Stylish, Cant beat the Power-train warranty. Plenty room for my college buddies.
Weakness:
Kinda bumpy if you hit a big bump at slow speeds, like in parking lots. Has in dash 6-dics cd player that went out, took a week replace, had to wait a month to get cd's back. This is a great Suv, other than the little sterio problem i would give this suv a 5 star rating. One last thing the truning raduis is awsome!! Similar Products Used: Looked at all other suvs-Ford, Chevy, Honda, Nissan so on, either to pricey, or didnt have the same features as Isuzu but coast more. |
