Strength:

Looks great, runs good most days, pretty comfortable, top has been sturdy, can''t get it to run out of gas no matter how low I let it get, most days, the air is nicely cool. Perfect for Arizona when it doesn''t stall on me.

Weakness:

My biggest complaint is that the service at the dealership is horrible. I''ve been to two dealerships and the staff is like something out of the Twilight Zone. You talk. They don''t listen. You wonder if they''re even really there. You''re trapped in Hell and they hold all the cards because they''re the only ones who can even understand what the heck''s going on with your car. My car''s a lemon with a bad clutch/tranny and bad people (not)servicing it.

Okay, I still absolutely love the looks of my Amigo. That said, let me tell you that I had to replace the clutch at 19,825k. And today, exactly a year later, I had to call emergency roadside because the slave cylinder seal blew while my husband and I were in the middle of desert 70+ miles outside Phoenix. Also, my passenger seatbelt locks up, there''s a problem with the brakes catching when I go over even a small bump, SERVICE SUCKS! The roadside towing is great, but once you get to the dealership, You''re screwed! I also had to go back in after the clutch was replaced the first time. They tried to blame me, made me pay for labor. I told them I had a Dodge Colt at home with 190K + miles on it and NEVER had to replace or repair the clutch...and I drove that car until I donated it to charity. Still, they blamed my driving habits. Now, it''s been a year to the day since that clutch and the service wouldn''t even help me find a rental car--told me to take a cab home. Of course, I still like the way the car looks and I would probably love my Amigo if the clutch didn''t crap out every 20K miles.

Strength:

The 4x4 drive, and the hard top with my radio and speakers all pioneer system that sounds good. With 31x11.5 tires and alloy rims. It looks sharp and good on the road.It rides smooth and runs o.k it has the 2.6 liter engine, It gives me all the power I need plus. I just baby it, and it will last forever. I have vinele floors and faberic seats, there so nice.I love it!

Weakness:

well there is not much too complain about but, the sensers in the amego is mind boggling, there are so many to go wrong. And I have a small stering wheel which makes it filp easy and hard to stere, and it keeps me on my toes.

This is the frist SUV I owned after 6 cars. This is a very good car, For the looks and the 4x4 and convertible. With the hard top I am vary happy with it.

Model Reviewed: Amigo soft top

Strength:

Being a convertable that is able to fit 5 people in it since I have 3 kids. Handles great on the road I live in the mountains and loved the control of the car. I had the V6 and the pick up and speed that I got was wonderful, luckily never caught by a cop.

Weakness:

The only problem that I had that Isuzu couldn''t fix to my approval was the antilock brakes. They would jerk the car to the left and wouldnt stop the car if they got wet or snow on them. Finally after 5 months of dealing with it I just pulled the fuse and used regular brakes was alot better after that. The visablity while backing up and when it snowed the soft top had a lot of blind spots and the snow just stuck to the plastic window.

Even though the car was totalled last month it actually made it even better. Looking at the Amigo after it went end over end and then rolled on it side twice, I am surprized my husband walked out of it without even a bruise. And NO it wasn''t rolled because of the SUV, another car hit it. Anyways, this has been my favorite car out of all my cars and will get another after we deal with the insurance.

Strength:

Having the best of both worlds(convertible, and 4x4) The ground clearence is great. The 4-wheel drive is pretty decent Love the way it can get into tight spaces. Fun to drive Nice to look at It''s bigger and better looking than a tracker.

Weakness:

I busted out the back plastic window on a cold day by accident. Which sucked, but it was my fault. Getting in the back is a little tough. Can be a cold ride in the winter (if your in the back. Rusting is a problem, but it came from the North. Wish I would have gotten a 6-cyl

I cannot complain about this suv. I bought it with about 120,000 miles on it and I''m up to 170,000 and not a major thing done to it yet. I keep up its general matinence oil changes, air filter, etc. I have friends with new cool cars like eclipses, mustangs and so fourth, but whose car do we take on warm sunny days MINE!!! (I should also mention cold, snowy days!)

Strength:

The looks are just to die for It handles very well for a suv (better than a 97 GMC Jimmy)Love the flooring if its muddy just get the garden hose out and spray it out It sets very well The day I bought it I put 100 miles on it and it drove fine. It has POWER for a four cyl. Have you drove a s-10 NO power there I have had the top off a few times and it only took me 10 min. to put it back on Looking to buy a hard top for winter time.

Weakness:

Not many to find yet. Needs new speakers and a radio The snaps on the soft top do not line up right but the hooks work very well

So far so good! Ive wanted one of these truck since 90 and I''ve got my first one. The looks are AWSOME and it has lots of power (I dont know what other think when they fuss about no power?) ITs a 4cyl... DUH! My truck go''s up hill like it was nothing And its only a 2wd Would hae loved a 4wd But in my area these trucks are hard to find.. Im just at 100,000 miles and it needs new plugs and wires but it was used when i bought it so i have planned on these types of problems For what Ive paid for the truck it is well worth it How many trucks do you find for under 4000$

Strength:

Better styling than the Jeep Wrangler and is more attractive. Handles well off-road. more space than Jeep Wranglers. Fun to drive.

Weakness:

Not a 4.0 litre like the Jeep Wrangler. No automatic retractable top, no sunroof, not safe, not that many aftermarket products.

My Amigo is fun to drive, but has poor handling in some places. It''s too heavy to take rock-climbing so I''ve only gone mudding. MUDDING RULES!!. Not only is it roomy in the back to scare people that have never been off-road, but it has enough space behind the rear seats to put some speakers and amps. I have 3 Rockford Fosgates in the back and doesn''t make the car rattle, like Cadillacs, or other old cars with systems. The great styling makes it look better after equipping it with custom rims, tires, and other body extras. Overall the Amigo is a great SUV, I would know because altogether I''ve had three, a ''91, a ''92, and now my ''93.

I love my Vehicle but I hate the fact that they dont make a hard top available for it, you have to buy it aftermarket and it is just ugly.

Powerful 2.6 five speed plenty of room for tall people plenty of storage space pulls trailors with ease off road sized tires

Weakness:

head gasket blew at 80000 miles (I fixed it with ceramic engine block sealer)and it is stil going clutch went out at 81000 from pulling trailors too much not enough room to crawl to back seat

I purchased my Amigo in July and had a fun summer without the top on and everyone seemed to like it till we put the top on permanently for winter then they had to crawl to the back seats. I have no complaints for it I like all the options that I got with it.
