Looks big and you have an easy view of the streets

Weakness:

What a weak engine. You could use alot more horsepower. Too much wind noise. Change those tires. Get beeter warranty not a bull 2 year 20,000 mile warranty!! I could use all that powertrin in 1 month!!

Hmmm... Overall this is an alright car. LOTS of wind noise, and the engine is too weak. a 350hp hp V-8 for a 6800pound car. Hmmm. DOn't buy this! Its a piece of metal trash. The wheels at too big.. It floats of snow... bad thing... no grip.

Great engineering

Weakness:

Now flow through outside air ventillation

I recently looked (very closely) at the H2 Hummer and could not believe the engineering and appointments in this vehicle. HOWEVER---I for the life of me cannot figure out why the Hummer product developers did not include any rear side window outside air access. Can you believe there is no way to open the rear side windows! What accountant was responsible for ordering this cost cutting move? This is catistrophic for flow through open window ventillation and if you are a dog or other animal lover this is a definate negative. All this great engineering and they left out this little detail---what a disappointment. Phill Bee Seminole, Fl.

It is good at off roading and things like that.

Weakness:

Going up a hill bigger than 70 degress

Hummers off Roading Experience Production: Lynch Hummer Date came out: 2002 Awards: Being able to climb a 45 degrees wall. Have you ever ridden in a Hummer before? Well if you have hopefully you liked it because I think they are awesome. They are good to go rock climbing in. One reason that they are good for that is because they have good traction and when you are going up a hill it will not slide or flip over. It will last a long time. (Unless you drive it off a cliff or something like that.) If when you go rock riding it will not brake down on you like if you hit a rock it will have a dint (most likely) but it will not just die on you it, might still run if you didn’t hit it to hard. It also can go pretty fast for a big SUV like it. It also has a lot of room so it is good for traveling too!!! It would be good for traveling if you have a lot of people traveling with you. It has nine (9) seats and a very big trunk. My over all evaluation is that it is a very good durable, most roomy SUV, I know of, it is good if you like rock climbing, rock riding or what ever you want to call it. My recommendation on this SUV is to buy it if you like big SUV’s or you like rock riding or rock climbing. This is my review about Hummers and I think that they are awesome and I think that you should test drive one and if you like it go for the buy (even know they might be expensive.) Strength:

The H2 comes equipped with a 6.0 L V8 engine, and 316 hp, giving it a fairly strong engine. The car looks awesome to me. It has that new look, yet keeps the tradtional hummer look at the same time. The car is awesome for off roading. But best of all the car is priced at half the price of an H1, and the H2 has a stronger engine, and is much more comfortable.

Weakness:

The windows of the H2 are wide, but not high, which I don't mid except for when i go to make a turn it can be a little sketchy because of the limited rear vision.

I think that GM did a great job creating a new version of the hummer, (H2). The car may or may not look good(really depends on the individual) However no one can argue with the hummer's comfort and off road capabilities. I have a pewter H2. I think pewter and black are the best colors. I have a bush guard, head lights, rear mounted tire(this is a key upgrade), and a ski rack. I think this makes an over all great set up for skiing biking or whatever you do because the ski rack can be turned into a bike rack.

Strength:

Awesome looking rig. Top of the line luxury features. Great low end power and pick-up. Excellent steering. Did I mention AWESOME looking rig!

Weakness:

Incredibly little interior room/storage space. Terribly underpowered. Not sure why they designed a street rig this big with full time 4-wheel drive. Watching the "instant economy" guage keep reading "4", "5", "6" MPG...

Awesome looking truck. We wanted to buy it so bad... We took it for a 24 hour test drive and put a couple hundred miles on it. This thing is the latest in "hey- look at me" trucks. We had people speeding up on the freeway to videotape us driving by... We were looking to move down from our Suburban. The interior and luxury features are excellent, and very similar to the Suburban. At normal speeds it drove great both on pavement and dirt. But freeway driving...Uhg. Even with the modified intake and exhaust, the thing was still underpowered at highway speeds. The slightest incline caused the cruise control to drop a gear or two. And for our family to go camping, we'd need a car top carrier and still have to leave the spare tire and 3rd seat at home. Can't carry a sheet of plywood a fence post or even a 2x4 unless you buy a trailer or strap it all onto the roof. We loved the truck, and wanted to buy it... but it is so impractical for a family. Maybe it would be a good $60,000 replacement for a jeep wrangler, but not for a family of 5. Even with all those negatives...I still dream about it!

Doensn't get 50MPG

Being a off road enthusiast for 35+ years I've owned my share of 4X$'s, built a couple, wrecked a few. When I first read about H1's it was apparent they were off road capable but not necessarily family friendly. Now having the H2 for a couple of months it does all I'd hoped for! Climb rocks, hills, valley's, mud, streams, stable and refined. Gas mileage duh, don't buy a vehicle such as this if you are concerned getting 50 MPG........The manual locking diff works as you would want, perfectly, low range is good and driving in snow was great. Sure there's things that can be improved but not and keep it as a multiple use truck. Power is a bit in the high RPM area but hey this thing must work on the highway all day too. No, I'm very happy as is, good off road, highway and driving to the store. Could you make it total off road? Sure but loose it's civil side, no thanks!

I love off roading and when I saw the picture of the new H2 I had to go and take a look. After seeing it in person and after a test drive, I have to say that the H2 is not worth the money. It's basically a $52,000 Suburban. The sills and cowl are way too high, cargo space is very limited for a vehicle of its size, it's underpowered, and it gets horrible gas mileage. This is a quote from Car and Driver magazine: "I loved it [the H2] in photos. Then I saw a real one in the, uh, well, "flesh" is not the right word. I saw it in the plastic. Those cake-pan bumps on the hood? Plastic. You can pop 'em off with your fingers. Those black extenders on the ends of the front bumper? Tupperware tuff for those brutal commutes! Inside, the window sills are high. You look at the world through slits. For the first time ever, you see door-sealing rubber being used as a styling element. The message is "functional," get it? Ten man-size socketheads make a big show of securing wispy plastic cladding to the dash." This, about a $52,000 vehicle! A quote from Motor Trend Magazine: "The H2 is big, weighty, expensive, and thirsty. (And it needed a shift into low range to finish a hill climb the Volvo's high-tech AWD scrambled up without drama.)" Imagine off-roading in your H2 and getting passed going up a hill by someone in a Volvo X90. How embarrassing! If you want a big off-roader buy a used Toyota Land Cruiser for about $10,000 add another $5,000-$10,000 in upgrades and you will have one badass machine. Not to mention far more reliable. And with the remaining $30,000 you could buy a Nissan 350Z or a Honda S2000.
